I had BMW b58 with ZF Tran and first couple of days with IS 350 felt like a snail without the low end torque due to lack of turbo .. but all it takes is to keep the engine above 3.5k to bring the engine alive. It took a week for me readjust back to naturally aspirated engine . Once you get over that everything else better than BMW . From the seats , Mark Levinson sound system, quality controls and knobs , everything screams quality and well built . I have no doubts this one will outlast every bmw I owned
I don’t know man. I love Lexus build quality. But don’t you miss the ambient lights? The updated charging cables (usb-c)? The HUD on the windscreen? The wireless charging? The keycard? The AC controls at the back with charging outlets for passengers? The kick to open trunk? Sport plus mode? Lexus has the capability of putting these things in but starves the IS of them. I mean, my RC350 F sport had sport plus. Why is it missing in this video? Why aren’t the mirrors auto fold in? They just want you to go to the ES before getting these goodies. A Camry is more “teched” out than the IS. Why can’t I get a sporty sedan loaded with tech from Lexus. I love Lexus. I miss the adaptable variable suspension of Lexus. It gave you the best multiple characters. My BMW knew no chill. It got annoying sometimes. But I want the dynamic handling and tech. Rant over 😂
I agree, I went from a BMW N55 to an ES350, the car is a bit slower but only because of the lack of low end. If you drive it right though I think they are pretty comparable. Now I'm waiting on a IS500 same colour as this guys.
The tuning and engine character of the IS 350 is kinda like a 600cc sportbike. Not gonna win any drag races but once you get em’ wound up they become totally different machines. Driving the IS at its limits is heavenly.
I want this Car so bad. I’m 44 years old and life has slowed down for me. It will hurt so bad to get rid of my Old Honda CR-V and 8th Gen Honda Civic Si, but I’m ready to just have one car and this Lexus checks a lot of boxes.
I was just in the market for a new luxury sports sedan with my budget being under 50k and I made a list of three options. Alfa Romeo Gulia with the 2.0t motor, bmw 330i and the Lexus IS 300/350. So I went out and drove all of them, and here was my take away. The 2023 BMW 3 series was a disappointment, as nice as the tech was the lack of physical buttons as well as driver involvement made me gravitate away from it. The power around town was fine but on the test drive once I took it on the freeway it felt like a car with only 250 hp. Not to mention even the base 330i was just over 50 grand with mark ups. The Alfa Romeo Giulia, was initially my top pic and was the one I drove next. I thought it drove a lot better than the BMW and looked a lot better as well, but that’s all it pretty much did well, not to mention the dealer experience was horrendous. The Alfa lacked any sort of comfort or refinement that I believe a daily needs. Last up was the Lexus and I first drove the IS300 RWD which I found to be quite underpowered and my hope for the 350 went down. I decided to give the 350 a try as it was the one that I originally wanted. I have driven a lot of cars in my life especially BMWs with a B58 and the Lexus IS350 is probably the best car I have ever driven. The induction sound from the engine was one hell of a noise compared to all the turbo 4s and the way it pulls up till the red line makes it satisfying to drive at the limit. It felt as fast as the other cars around town but on the freeway due to it being the horsepower leader it felt the fastest. It was as fun to drive as the Gulia and even looked as good. Unlike the Alfa the Lexus did everything better even things like dealership experience. The physical buttons were a big plus over the BMW, and the interior as well as driving experience had a sense of occasion that the BMW couldn’t match. That’s why I drove a new atomic silver on red 2023 Is350 home. I wanted something that looked good, drove well and had a sense of emotion but at the end of the day still was a rational daily that came with a lot of standard features. That’s why the IS won it for me. If technology and fuel economy were on the top of my list I wouldn’t have bought my car. So far I’ve owned the car for four months and it’s fast, good looking and most importantly comfortable. This is a car that I would easily recommend to anyone who values driving experience and quality over technology and screens. I also believe that this car should be compared to the turbo 4 competition as it’s priced in line with those cars. I hate how some reviews compare it to the turbo sixes when it’s clearly not priced with those cars.
I appreciate the detailed feedback you provided on the cars you test drove! 👍 I’ve been a Infiniti owner for years and don’t regret any of the Lexus cars I’ve owned. The IS350 is my preferred car to drive because of the ride refinement, no weird cabin noises, it has the right amount of tech and interior features I like.
My 2023 Lexus IS 350 F Sport has everything, but the handling package. Curious if the LSD, adaptive suspension and BBS wheels make a huge difference in driving performance?
Thank you. Surprisingly very little road noise even with low profile tires. I think Lexus will introduce additional options at the refresh in 2024, maybe like electronic closing trunk. Refresh normally happens after three years of a cars introduction.
I test drove an IS 350 F Sport this past weekend because I have been looking into getting one. I'm amazed how comfortable it is and for a daily driver it's smooth rides well and can be pretty quick as well. It has enough space and plenty of features. I'm waiting for the Ultrasonic Mica to come in to the dealerships then will place the order. The seats are very comfortable and build quality is just fantastic. The drive was quiet and smooth. This is such a gorgeous car! I can't wait to own one and be proud of it!
@orlando jacinto Yeah, they're selling by so fast here. I was lucky to find one to test drive itself lol. Have you seen the Ultrasonic blue mica 2.0 in person?
I purchased the 2022 IS 350 FSport fully loaded with the TLSD, BBS wheels etc which is part of the dynamic handling package in Iridium color . Fully loaded. The only thing that pissed me off is it didn’t have the memory settings for the driver seat after spending $57k. For that price it shouldn’t be an option , that should be a standard equipment . It’s an excellent daily driver, supremely comfortable seats , noise isolation , everything looks quality and butter smooth V6 engine, if I have to score it down it’s the transmission.. workaround is to paddle downshift to hit the 4k RPM and then on the engine comes alive and flies with an amazing sound
I agree. I spent about 50K on mine no power tilt steering no memory seats. Same here, I the noticed engine open up at downshift using the paddle shifters.
I think it was parts shortage. I’ve been thinking of getting into another one with memory and power tilt steering with panoramic view. Caviar with red interior not sure yet.
@@orlandojacinto1 I just placed an order over the weekend, I believe in order to get memory seats with power tilt steering, you have to go with ultra luxury package and it’s not avai in 350.

Nice the ES is definitely reliable many owners keep them long term. The used car market should be settled in 4 years and the 2021 IS350’s will be at the 20K price range. I can’t say enough good things about the IS. 👍

I am impressed with the quality of the Lexus Is 350F sport. Your review opened my eye’s to other option’s as far as a sport luxury vehicle beside’s the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport coupe. Thank You for option’s.
I’m glad you liked the video and found it helpful. The IS 350 F Sport has a good balance of luxury and ride quality over the Q60 Red Sport. However, the Red Sport can be more engaging especially in Sport+ mode I feel more connected to the road.
I have been leaning towards one of these over a GTI. I'm in my early 40s now, and this just seems like such a great fit for me. Now, if the car market would just change every so slightly in my favor.
Very good all around car. Smooth and responsive. When I bought it 2yrs ago, dealership took a few hundred off sticker. Now it’s sticker plus dealer add-ons. Year end might be the best time to buy, depending on how long the UAW strike last.
Thanks for the review Orlando that was really helpful. Gabby and I are looking into buying one soon and we know you mentioned the ride quality is good on smooth pavement, how does it fair in rougher pavement? Does it feels as though its bumpy like a sports car or the polar opposite or somewhere in between?
Hi thanks I’m glad you like the review! On rougher pavement it can be annoying but the suspension does a good job dampening the road noise so you don’t feel it as much in the cabin. Good luck with buying your IS, you’ll love it!
Good review man! I don't see many 350 F sports in this Grecian blue. It looks nice. How does it compare to the ultrasonic blue visually? Did you cross shop the new Acura TLX?
