What a wonderful place. Commercial fishing has really damaged the sea around where I live in the UK. Sanctuaries like this are so important.
@@staytight6340 Good recommendation. John makes some of the best sea angling content on RUclips.
Impressive sanctuary holding large amounts of fish, best thing is, when it becomes over populated and feed becomes short, the fish will migrate further afield.
Up here in Newfoundland we're allowed to take ground fish on allocated dates, this year we have 39 days mostly weekends, you're so lucky to have haddock, it's 100% cod up here. we're allowed 5 fish per day max 15 per boat.....the chowder looks good but there's nothing nicer than a haddock fillet deep fried in a beer batter
Haddock
Love these videos! I fish NE Aswell!
I would love to fish those numbers
Ironic how I just went haddock fishing for the first time today in but in Maine not mass
I loved to go on your boat and catch some fish let me know when you're available if I could join you
What’s the best and most productive way to catch haddock? Jigging or clams?
Depends on the conditions and time of year. In shallower water in the spring, jigs are great. In deeper water, clams are a easier to fish.
I'm going tomorrow out to stellwagen, prob 300 Ft of water. Do you think I'm wasting my time with Jigs? I've done really well with jigs for pollock in deep water but never caught a haddock.
We went out around May of last year and did pretty well on the jigs so I wouldn't give up just yet. I'd pick up some clams as a backup incase they are picky. Best of luck and send in your photos to feedback@onthewater.com this fishing season!
If I do well you'll be getting an email tomorrow night. :)
It hurts me and makes me upset that when people talk about Plymouth and things to do they almost never mention The National Monument to the Forefathers. It's much more than just a statue and time should be taken to understand it. It's what this country is about and how it was founded
