I personally think that setup is way overboard for that kind of fish. If you’re expecting 30lb cod or pollock I would understand, but jigging with a small jig for haddock that only fight for the first 50-100 feet up it might be a little overboard. I personally don’t know exactly what I use but it’s a light setup with braid down to a 20 ft mono leader to ensure I can feel the bite.
One thing I do agree with is the plastics in the bare hooks, I personally use bait a majority of the time and when the bite Is on sometimes it’s a guarantee that you’re gonna lose some bait so the grub allows you to keep a chance to catch a fish without any bait and so you’re only reelin up to catch a fish and not empty hooks.
