    I remember watching this press conference and being so impressed with his sharpness, his intelligence and how deftly he handled the event solo. Not at all easy for a 30 year old man, much less a 90 year old man recently diagnosed with cancer. Few notes, speaking with a great command of facts, and easily fielding questions afterward. He is an inspiration to all seniors.

    President Carter is such an example of how to serve others, deal with challenges, and live a life full of compassion. His genuineness and warmth are always forefront. One of the greatest men I know. Keeping him in my thoughts and prayers. Sending my best wishes to him and Mrs. Carter!

      It was adopted as official U.S. policy by President Gerald Ford in November 1975."

      Truly one of the great iniquitous monsters of history.

    cancer free 6+ yrs later.. just another incredible, yet quite accomplishment .. thank you for protecting 100's of millions of Americans health, with lead removal that the president before and after you would not do.. such a shame everyone knows the inflation lead removal caused, but forget to mention the 300 millions that avoided lead poisoning thanks to your action, Mr President! President Carter is a genuine humanitarian. He is everything we all should aspire for. I am grateful to God for having lived thru his presidency. He of all the presidents after him made the greatest contribution to peace. I pray for his complete and fast recovery and God Willing he will come thru in best of health. My only regret is I have not yet met him. I wish I have a chance to, So that I can express my gratitude for his contribution to peace and for his welfare of humanity at large.

    At first I thought he was a weak president. Do this day I still think he kinda was. BUT he is by far the greatest humanitarian to have ever graced this planet. He was courage and strength and has a great big heart. We're pulling for you Mr. President. In God's speed.

      Lenin M. Plazas Certainly not 'weak', just denigrated by Republicans who arranged with Iran to free Americans following election of Ronnie Reagan. Americans made fun of Carter's pleas to reduce energy usage... a gentle man who has done much good in the world not requiring pay offs by big money corporations and lobbyists.

    Our best president--period. Our presidents keep their titles for life, and they should be judged while in and out of office. Carter has been great IN and OUT of office.

      +Daqian Gustafson But I will add this about President Clinton. During his stewardship, work was available. And if you didn't have a job, you really weren't looking for a job. And let us remember, too, that he left a considerable economic surplus on leaving office. It might be said that President Clinton was the smartest president to complete office. In contrast, President Nixon was a bright man who let positive history slip through his fingers with such foolishness as Watergate. His opening up relations with China was the stuff of which history is made, especially given his earlier anti communist positions. Such an historical reverse was comparable to Mr. Justice Hugo Black, a former member of an uber nationalist organization, joining the ranks of human rights champions.

      +eveningcook if you have a book, you definitely have more information than I do.
      did you read it or write it? sounds like a conspiracy theory. if he was for depopulation...(Memo 200), he definitely must have invaded Iran and kill 5 million people. but HE DIDN'T. during his term, US didn't invade anywhere.

    • @th-wp7zc
      @th-wp7zc 9 лет назад

      eveningcook I talked about Iran, because it would be a perfect excuse to invade a country and kill millions (if he was for depopulation). that's not a joke, that's the reason Carter didn't get to the second term. that's the most important thing happened during Carter presidency, and you don't want to talk about it. ok forget about that if you would... you talk about Israel, Carter is 100% anti-Israel and anti-apartheid and he has books about it. Don't forget a president doesn't have the WHOLE government's power.
      Kissinger was the main bastard theorist of depopulation and many billionaires who supported him. Carter alone was nobody to stand against billionaires who run the country.
