Why do people build sandcastles? Once completed, they start to disintegrate, then the water washes them away. So what's wrong with that? It's an act of creation, requires effort, planning, learned skills, cooperation with others - and much more. That's life. Everything that has a beginning has an end. If this life went on forever it would be very crowded here.
The universe does not have a mind and did not impart any intrinsic meaning to our existence. Human beings assign meaning, individually. We emerged from random processes operating over very long time. Our individual existences are finite, but universal existence and creation are probably an endless process
The meaning of life is faith! I do believe that faith in a religious culture is reassuring to the many because human beings react with more of a likeness and it is reassuring their beliefs. I'm not so sure that is the answer to the meaning of life..
Lol! Faith is just another form of distraction, or avoidance! Instead of confronting reality, which is our own mortality...a fairy tale is substituted, a belief we will live forever in heaven. By why do deeply religious people cry at the death of a loved one? They should rejoice in their loved one being in heaven. But they don't, because deep down they know that loved one is dead and they will never see them again. Deep down they know it's all a lie!
