    Thank you for the informative video, it made changing the battery a breeze. I have a summit safe and it wont allow me to extend the bolts with the door open as you are able to do in the video.

    I had the same problem with my safe. You have to rotate the chrome cover till it comes off then on the left side of the battery push to the right until it clears the 2 screws that hold cover in place. Now simply push up on the black plastic and the cover will come off. BTW, It's not at all like the video. The battery does not have a pocket to sit in. It slides in and out. Hope that helped. Worked fine after I found the solution. Good Luck.

    My battery on my Bighorn classic was so dead it would not even send the open signal thanks for the info saved me a lot of hassle.

  • @garylett8919
    @garylett8919 10 лет назад +1

    It's just like Ron Typin posted. Mine would come up a little but not pop off. Rotate the chrome cover counter clockwise slightly,pull off. Then your battery will slide out to the right.I pushed it out with a screwdriver.The battery is putting too much pressure on the double keyhole slots which is why it's not popping off like it is suppose. Thanks again Ron! Great informative video Dean Safe!

      Many safes have a Button detent that keeps the bolt from going back out while the door is open it’s a safety device that prevents the door from being slapped on the bolts and bending them. If you carefully run your fingers along the back edge of the door. Once in a while it’s on the top or bottom of the door. When you find it you push it in and you will be able to retract the bolts. I hope this information is helpful to you. Thanks, John

    What the Cannon owners manual does not tell you is you have to enter new numbers "quickly" or it will not accept new code. This is on a NL lock.

    After my battery died, I watched your video and followed your instructions on changing out the battery on my electric keypad Cannon safe. It did not recognize my combo code. I entered it several times and it didn't work. I tried to enter the factory code of 123456 and that didn't work. I did this several times. Am I locked out forever?

    How come in this video it shows the user slightly lifting up on the lock to change the battery while I attempt to do the same and I end up practically almost lifting up the front of a 350lb safe and mine still wont come off. And yes its a SecuRam lock

    What happens if you put the wrong code in and it keeps beeping?? Will it reset itself?? I tried to change the combo but screwed it up. Now it’s continuously beeping.

      Maximum deep in time is 15 minutes after it resets code put in the right code it opens. Put in the wrong code it beeps again.. Thanks for watching, John

    I have had my cannon safe with securam locking system for exactly 1 year. I went to get into to it yesterday and it wouldn't recognize the code. 3 beeps, after 4 attempts it went into lock out mode. After several repeated attempts I gave the opener handle a firm tug and...the stopper bar slipped past the magnetic lock release. I was shocked. This safe is NOT SECURE. I removed the inner backing that hides the locking mechanism and saw how poorly it is made. Not a good safe at all.

    My combination is no longer working and appears to have a defect or short in the electronic components. It did not recognize the numbers 1,2,3,5, and 8 whenever I input the combination it would beep 3 times, and then after 2 or 3 attempts (not five,) put me into lockout mode. Any tips?

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  5 лет назад

      Sounds lock the keypad is malfunctioning, time to call a safe tec or a safe savvy locksmith.
      you can always try to wait 15 min and give it another shot. If you do get it open get a safe guy our before you close it. Good luck, John

    does this same procedure work for a UL type lock on TS series?

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  8 лет назад

      Only if it is using the Securam lock. Most Amsec ts safes use an ESL 5 for ESL10 Lock look for our video on that one.

    Tied to get the lock pad off and it isn't as easy as in the video. I hear the click but there's no getting it's face off to get to the battery. There feels like something is still holding it in place. Does anyone have any suggestions

    • @troycarr8837
      @troycarr8837 10 лет назад

      You probably have the " top lit " version. Try turning the trim ring counter clockwise 1/4 turn. Then puss the battery out with your finger from right to left. The whole unit will then lift up & off .

      SecuRam has a ton of quality locks to pick from and I would expect and some have different ways to install the battery. All is not lost. SecuRam has a great website, just find a keypad that looks like yours and you should be good to go. If all else fails call them I’ve found them very helpful.

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  4 года назад

      +Ballista leave the battery in for 20 minutes and see if it stops.
      It could be in the lockout mode.
      The lockout timer goes on hold until the battery is reinstalled. Try this first.

    What if I've forgotten my combo

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  7 лет назад

      Worry not, most safe manufactures maintain override codes for Elocks and combos for dials. They are very difficulty to get but it's cheaper than drilling. If you can not get an over ride code you'll need to get a safe teck to get into it for you.

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  6 лет назад

      That’s the original factory code which was most likely changed by the first person to use the safe. Changing the combo erases the previous code.

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  6 лет назад

      That's the original factory code and should have been changed to a different code on the first use. So you may not have the right code. If your sure that it's never been changed, then change the batteries (Alkaline only) and change the code. Still no luck, call a safe service man.

    So what happens when a burglar comes in and cuts keypad wires????

    • @DeanSafe
      @DeanSafe  3 года назад

      +Buddy Sawyer If a burglar cuts the wires to the keypad has just locked out everyone until #1 The keypad is reattached. #2 the safe is drilled open and the lock and keypad is replaced. This is very similar to what we do when a burglar pops the dial off of a mechanical lock.
      Thanks for watching, John
