They’ve contracted with hell on getting workers. More lazy learners that will need to be guilted into attending, running and getting others to do the same. Remember, you have been committed to sacrificing your time, talents, money and everything else with which you have been “blessed” with or with which you will be blessed with.

They're gonna sell off ward meeting houses and build more temples. Adding more temples makes absolutely no sense since active membership is approximately 3 million worldwide (and temple worthy members are even fewer). Building more temples isn't necessary or profitable.

In Texas, the only temple over 40k sq ft is Dallas with 44k. All other temples currently in operation, or announced with architect rendering are in the neighborhood of 30k sq-up to 33k. Why were they insisting that the closest temple to the larger Dallas temple needed to also be over 44k sq ft?

That Fairview temple redesign is so phallic it is going to inspire nicknames that everyone in town will know about and use. Not a good idea. In Rome there is a building they call the Wedding Cake, celebrating Vittorio Emanuele II. That's an example of a fairly neutral nickname. Fairview temple, as proposed, is not going to fare so well. The tower badly needs fixing.

  • @debracrockett9647

What I don’t understand is why they are pushing for this temple at all. Dallas temple is only 20 minutes away from Fairview. They are having a hard enough time staffing the Dallas temple and getting enough people to attend. Sounds like a move to bankrupt Fairview and stretch the members so thin that they break. Maybe that is what they are up to breaking the members in that area.

The Lords design and purpose of the Temple and the prophets design and purpose are two different things. The prophet had cast a blanket of smoke and mirrors over the structure the Lord created to disorient and control the members. Christ isn't at the head of this church. He is the head of the truth. The prophet is the head of this phony blanket he's thrown over the truth. TO: We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law, except when it interferes with temple building, zoning regulations or anything which will decrease our tithing revenues. How the church is throwing its weight around is not good for its image. It’s ego running wild. Brigham Young once said the church would struggle more if it came into wealth than it would if it were in poverty. When you can buy politicians and lawyers the result is always ugly. The lack of respect for the communities these temples are being built in is pretty sad. Also expecting the members to lie about the purpose of steeples shows the church needs better ethics in it’s organization. One prophet warned against pride and said to avoid it. I would say the church leadership need to heed that warning.

Remember the Boston temple? Also too tall. It took the intervention of senator Ted Kennedy to help them get their spire.

I didn’t think anyone outside the elected officials in Fairview could be more Bigoted, but was I wrong.
Did any of the jaded commentators actually examine the proposal? It was completely consistent with the ordinances in Fairview or with any previous zoning changes the city had done.
The city’s town council agreed that the proposal was in complete compliance with the city’s ordinances.
For example, the original proposed height was no higher than a Protestant church that was approved.
Building of temples offers increased opportunities for people of different backgrounds and beliefs to unite.
Bitterness, slander, misinformation, and hatred do not advance the cause of community improvement.

Fairview granted the CUP to the Methodist Church, including conditions that the Church had to meet for the Bell Tower to be approved. The source document is "Fairview Planning & Zoning Meeting Sept 14, 2006.
The church couldn't meet the conditions, so they removed the bell tower from the design. The source document is the Town of Fairview Texas Memorandum dated August 1, 2017.
Our church has the highest exception at 68ft. The original temple design proposal's height was three times higher. The current 120 ft proposal is almost two times higher.
Have you participated in temple ordinances at a small temple?
I did it at the Sacramento Temple. The smaller temple didn't matter to me because the ordinances are pretty much the same at every temple. The live ordinances are an exception.

I’m also happy that my old stake is getting a temple as it at least cuts down on the time spend travelling to a temple & associated emissions.
When I saw “President Peedle” I was pleasantly surprised as he was from my old ward & then realised one of his councillors was also from my old ward (a former HT companion). Both great guys & Phil has some super awesome stories. From being black & adopted by a white family, his mission to Ireland & his wife being a former Muslim! (And secret communications with her mother once they had kids)

I mean Moroni no longer is on temples, they don't review applications to not be excommunicated or disfellowshipped.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Church of Jesus Christ, as the name tells you. Are you still a member of His Church ? The Lord has called the leaders of His own Church, and through them He is guiding His Church personally on a daily basis. So He does not need you or me to tell His leaders what to do in His church.

Sometimes shit-talking is just truth-telling. I'm grateful for people like him who were brave enough to tell the truth about church history and policies where members like me could find it! I'll never get my decades of tithing back, but leaving the church was the best choice I ever made.

Do you mean holding leaders accountable? Nothing was said against doctrine, just asking to address their own statements. Is this wrong?
