Very well played Alex!!! I've watched Lexiav playing a few times and I was convinced he would crush you! Oh boy, I was completely wrong. Now I actually think you have a superior strategy! I've seen you doing things here that he doesn't do that I'll incorporate in my game. Even though you made some mistakes (outlined by yourself) like "miss-diploying" the Monarks, leaving the arties on the wrong hero, etc, you came out so far ahead! Yeah, he got a bad biome, but you did the best of yours! That's why I think sometimes, for tournaments, a mirror map is probably more suitable. A bad roll on JC may leave a player so far behind that kills the purpose of a balanced match between two good players! Anyways, thanks for putting this content on youtube! It's very fun to watch you playing, I like how you show your emotions when you mess it up or when you win! I've already subscribed! Great job Alex!
Two random towns are rolled and we bid to see who gets the better town, as towns have varying strength levels. For example in a matchup like necro vs inferno, it's common for the necro player to pay 7k+. The bidding is also done for color as red is better because it gets to go first after simultaneous turns are done.
So i like heroes but NEVER played with these trades to start. Not sure i understand tho, he bet 5k for the town and you bet 1.5k for being first to act and you started with 3k extra...why not 3.5k? What am I missing?
While I was watching this video, I saw plays you made that I never would have found and also these little mistakes you saw in your own play - and that combination tells us part of why Heroes 3 became a classic. The move tree is just so wide there's always room to improve.
Yeah I totally agree, the number of variations is amazing, I've played over 2000 games on Jebus Cross alone, and every game is different, I still have games all the time that go in unexpected directions that I've never experienced before.
Trading for town and color, at the beginning a random pair of towns is rolled and the opponents bid to see who gets their choice of town, as different towns have varying strength levels. Then the bidding process is repeated for the color - red is better as it gets to go first after simultaneous turns end.
HD version from Steam is trash. You need the complete edition from good old games, and the HD mod, which gives additional functionality, and HotA, which is an unofficial expansion (the last two are free, just google them).
Hey, long time player, but never online. What's the back and forth chat going on at the very beginning? Looks like you're bargaining on starting resources or something?

Why did you choose Drakon instead of for example Tazar? I’m asking because in one of your videos you said that Tazar is your second favourite hero after Luna.
Tazar is better as a main but Drakon is better as a starter because he starts with 3 stacks of gnolls, allowing you to do for example a size 3 hive with just your day 1 army, if you pick Tazar as your starting hero it will slow you down too much in the first couple of turns, and on Jebus Cross tempo is really important.
I randomly watched this pro gameplay. Never played much and always just against AI or in coop with friends. This is totally different level, i would say it's almost about abusing the gameplay system. But it was surely fun to watch and you would probably send an army of archangels against me while i'm only about to reach 100 imps with my lvl2 hero or something like that. lol
Not only a solid but a fun to watch game, all the way until the end, congrats! Clops turn was a highlight but entire game was neat. How about a diplo tutorial? If JC has non-standard diplo settings, I'd take such video in JC flavor. Still confusing for many of us.

It's still valid, but on templates like jebus cross you don't really rely on building army in your town most of the time. You get army by farming creature banks on the map, so bringing additional army from your main town will not make you that much stronger a lot of the time.
