my damper arm just came off . it doesn’t go up and sit like yours . it’s also doesn’t look like it’s connected to anything . i’m not sure what to do

Is the plastic hydraulic tube that the arm slides into missing? This would be the one seen at 01:17 on the right side. If it is there, then you will just need to resituate the arm into the hydraulic tube. If this piece is completely missing, then your dampener arm will not work as intended. But the dampener arm's purpose is only to slower the opening of the glovebox, so it is not completely necessary. You will need to consult your dealer most likely if you wish to replace this piece.

If you are having trouble removing the stoppers, try closing the glovebox up slightly while you twist the stopper. If it is still stuck, you can try using a pair of needle nose pliers to get a better grip on the stopper.

Do you point the airflow direction arrow up or down?

If your filter mentions air flow then the arrow should point down. If you have an OE filter and it just says UP then it is installed with the arrow up.
