One question does it matter if which way the lines go when u took it off the lines were horizontal then u put diagional or it doesnt matter.thanks and i heard the recycle button needs to pushed beforehand is that true.thanks
Depending on who manufactured the filter the lines may go a different direction. The lines going horizontal or vertical do not make a difference. On some vehicles the recycle button needs to be pushed to open a panel.
Filterheads i got an STP filter i just wanted to be sure cuz i was looking on google and the infos all over the place so many models its an 06 es 330.thanks for the info its was 1766 filter
Why you have to remove the dampner arm? As long as you unscrew two screws, it will come down. Also any idea why the dampner arm has ring shaped attachments?

It is removed because it is not good to put stress on it when the box lowers past the normal movement.
