Just wanted to say thank you. I am 56 years young and have been playing guitar since I was 10 with no formal training. I have picked up different things from family and friends over the years and I taught myself to play bass. for the last 8 years I have played in a local band and we have done great. Our lead guitar moved out of state and I have made the leap to lead guitar with your videos in the last 2 months you have given me the tools and the confidence reach the next level of playing. I plan on playing for a long time and with your help I know I can, So again thank you for your style of teaching and rock on.

YT is a great enabler of bright light syndrome. Currently working on my own lesson plan w/ different Playlists of lessons. This 3-parter will make a fine addition. I've found going back to learning songs is an essential part of the process. Recently found a new muse w/ The Cars, and Elliot Easton's guitar playing. Never had a problem w/ breaking out of the box. I've always been kind of backwards in learning how to do thing's. Now, I'm learning to respect the patterns and what they truly have to offer. I find Easton is perfect for that.

Meet the Jumping Frog that is mesmerized by the shiny light. I know this--but needed to hear it (again) from outside my head. Thanks so much. Now to see if I can focus. This is the second time I watched this so it must need to be heard over and over. Thick head. I sometimes feel like I've developed ADHD in my 60s in this regard.

Excellent info and lesson.I cant believe the leads are a plain g major scale-they sound exotic from they way you break it up in pieces and dont play it as a straight pattern.Dont think ive seen anyone else explain it so well. Also your intervallic pentatonic lesson is enligtening.I still dont understand theory and the relationship of notes and their context but the lightbulb will go on one day.
As an aside i think one thing that could help a little is if you had one of those loops of the chord progressions that you play lead over.
    Thanks!

Man, you got a wonderful spirit, sharing in what the spirit of truth has to offer, of guitar, which is quite the Nobel thing much like feeding the masses. You probably get what I mean in sharing a bit of incite too. That said we can also see what Error in spirit is which contrary to a joyful outlook, even how we are subject to error, from time to time, often by the error of others. For context, the Spirit is that of which we are animated and how we manifest truths in the truth of this material reality. Its no wonder we are attracted to the spirit of the way of music in truth, even what God the Spirit of truth has to offer for our enjoyment, when we choose to go in the loving ways of the spirit of truth as opposed to error in spirit and its ways of unrest in being subjected. If ya think about this, truth of the spirit, it all makes so much more sense, the world, of the spirit of the ways of truth-- and error. That's why I call it "the awesome spirit of music." And thanks... for sharing.

      Basic chords: G - Bm - C - D
      Hope this helps. 🙂

How much can you spend? DO you have a job?
Too young for real jobs? Mow lawns. Clean gutters. Trim bushes. Ask neighbors what kind of odd jobs can you do for money. You'll be surprised how they give you work just because you asked and there lazy and don't want to do it.
In my opinion the very best "cheap" guitars that are still exceptional quality are 80's model Peaveys. Here is one currently on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/Peavey-Predator-Strat-style-electric-guitar-RH-handcrafted-in-U-S-A/401789566175?hash=item5d8c863cdf:g:GyMAAOSwd7Vc9T0M&frcectupt=true
      Another www.ebay.com/itm/Peavey-Predator-Handcrafted-in-the-U-S-A/113782625561?hash=item1a7df91519:g:N6sAAOSw~Zpc7TuM
I bought a 85 peavey Falcon and LOVE it!!
Quality matters. Don't buy some cheap chinese crap. Those 2 are bidding under $200. But that's rare. If you can borrow the money get one now. But save at least $300. Typical price range $250-300.
Ibanez can be found under $300 too. Made in Japan would be my 2nd choice. Korea 3rd. NEVER Chinese crap please.
Craigs list and pawn shops are good to look at too. Ask a pawn shop if you can do work for it. Taking out trash. Sweeping floors. STuff like that even a kid can do. Show people you're motivated to work and they will put you to work. Most of the time.
