Let’s talk about how to get some relief from a sinus infection or sinusitis, especially if it’s chronic. If the situation is chronic, it could be due to a fungus, and there could also be biofilms.
Biofilms are like little calcium houses that protect bacteria or other types of microbes from being destroyed by an antibiotic. But there are natural things that can inhibit the formation of biofilms as well as kill the fungus.
Nasal irrigation or a nasal rinse can be very beneficial in this situation. You can make your own, but it may be less expensive just to buy one with the ingredients you need in it.
Kimchi juice may also be a great natural remedy for a sinus infection. There is a specific microbe in kimchi juice, which is very effective for clearing out mucus and infections in the sinuses. You can put a small amount of diluted kimchi juice on a Q-tip and put it in your nostril each day to repopulate this microbe.
When you take an antibiotic, it kills bacteria but not fungus. This is why the biggest side effect of an antibiotic is the overgrowth of a fungus.
Two ingredients to look for in a nasal rinse:
1. Xylitol
• Decreases the formation of biofilms
• Suppresses the growth of fungus
2. Grapefruit seed extract
• Anti-fungal
• Antibacterial
You can also try mixing 1% (about a drop) of baby shampoo into a saline solution and use that in your nasal rinse as well to help inhibit biofilms.

I had more successes with Dr Berg's advices than I had with physicians with preventive measures and nutrition (because MD's do not study much nutrition - actually one MD admitted having studied four hours of it in all of his medical curriculum). It's a world of specialisation and Dr Berg is the best I know in natural remedies. Thank you very much!
Thank you very much for your comment. Appreciate it!
I am an MD and follow Dr Berg's advice on many things, priceless information!

Xlear nasal spray. Bought mine at CVS. Ingredients are Purified water, Xylitol, USP sodium chloride, grapefruit seed extract.
Zada thanks very much for sharing this! I finally found this stuff. After 2 days of using it, my sinuses have opened and my breathing is more deep. I think I can reduce the mucinex now!!! Thanks Dr. Berg for starting the conversation! As usual, Dr. Berg is spot on with his suggestions. Wonder why my allergist/ immunologist didn’t suggest this like 5 years ago🤔
Thanks for sharing, I was just going to write down all the choices but now I can just go to CVS and buy it!!

Nasal rinsing was life altering for me. I used to fight with sinus infections all the time. Now, I usually do a spray every day with saline, xyletol & grapefruit extract (pre-mixed over the counter) and that usually keeps me clear. If I do feel things start backing up I do the full sinus rinse. I can’t remember the last time I needed an antibiotic for a sinus infection.
Where do you get those pre-mixed packets that you mentioned?
Bulletproof sinus rinse
Olive leaf nasal spray is a great help also
I also use this homemade for rinsing pre and post rapid antigen testing for covid. Haha! Negative tests so far!
@@heather5926 can you tell me how you mix it up?
I had problem with my left eustachian tube resulting in blocked left ear for almost 10 year, headache, earache, etc. Several times of visits to ENT doctors didn’t work either. Now I’m 90% free of my left ear problems thanks to humming. I’ve found several articles about chanting/humming which is beneficial to sinus problems etc. I did it for 1 hour daily for the first 3 days and my left ear cleared up 70%-80% right away. Since then I hum daily whenever I find the time to.
That's incredible. I suffer too from eustachian tube blockage. I will start chanting again
Wow nice. Is there a video or a tutorial to follow along?

wow this worked immediately! I have had a sinus infection for two days now- tried mucinex, neti pot, target up and up nasal spray, nyquil and zyrtec- anything I found in my medicine cabinet I thought would help- nothing did. I went out and bought xlear nasal spray with xylitol and it immediately cleared up the congestion...how did I not know about this sooner! Thank you!!!!!
The small drop of baby shampoo in the saline rinse was a miracle for me. Thank you so much for mentioning it. It cleared the mucus right away.
Which baby shampoo did u use, brand ,kindly share
I use Baby Magic shampoo, I or 2 drops in 8 oz of distilled water with a Neil Med packet (of salt/baking soda). I do it morning & night, but if I’m bad I do it several times a day.

Spot on. Neils Med sinus rinse saved me from painful infections. I also added a drop of iodine in the rinse bottle to kill any bacteria. The stuff that’s come out of my nose is unbelievable…. The premade sachets are so easy to use, I just cleaned my toddler’s nose.

Crazy how I got this notification I’m feeling pain in my head or behind my eyes when I look up and it says sinus infection 😥
So grateful for this!! Total success story here 🙌 I caught a heavy head cold after a recent trip to California from Indiana to see my pop for father’s day. That head cold turned into a secondary infection-sinusitis. I already deal with sinus issues bc I have a deviated septum that I actually tried to correct with surgery but I waited too late in life & it only helped maybe 10%. It just fell back closer to where it originally was. Anyway, this video was the first i heard of using both GSE & xylitol in a nasal rinse. It burned like crazy but oh my word!!! Immediate relief. I also bought the xclear that another commenter mentioned. So so grateful 🙏

Still remembering how all my mucus skyrocketed out of my sinuses when I took my first surfing classes at Canary Islands, that salty water did some magic right there and then.
Thats a precious funny memory. Glad it worked.

Guys, I had bad sinus infections most of my life (4 or 5 a year). I eliminated milk from my life (and minimized dairy) and the sinusitis COMPLETELY went away. Worked instantly

Sinus infections are incredibly miserable. I had a recent flare up after finding mold in my washing machine and clearing it out. I have mould allergy and it gets right into my sinuses. Glad I discovered the nightmare that was in my washing machine and subsequently I found more mold in my fridge. The sinus rinses with xylitol are amazing and I've been using the xlear spray now for 4 weeks and sinuses are clear!
How long did the xlear take to work

Hey thanks! Appreciate that.
Doc, I used the baby shampoo as directed, and it worked wonders! I've been suffering for over a decade, and now I'm breathing normally. Thanks!!!
For years and years I've had sinus issues and bad allergies. A couple months ago I came down with a bad cold and then a fever. The fever did something that triggered my sinus to clear out completely, and a few days later my sinus was releasing all this long slimy green rope like substance out of my nose. I was amazed at how much was trapped in my sinus. It was mind boggling and made so much sense to explaining the issues I have been having for years. Better out than in, that's for sure. Cleaning the sinus is something you definitely want to consider and keep up, I know I will.
Kimchi juice is great. In the UK you can buy it as a powder, it is Kimchi Power not Kimchi powder!

Can you tell me the name of the Kimchi powder you bought in the UK?
I tried various brands of Kimchi from Amazon ( now using Mr. Kimchi), but no miracles yet. My sinuses are slightly better but still quite bad, so can't say if kimchi juice is helping very much :(

This advice and a trip to Walgreens saved me so much time and money. Infection I had for days gone in 20 minutes. Wow.
Hi Dr. Berg, Your videos are the best and I tell everyone to watch yours. I had constant nasal drainage after 2 sinus infections and covid in there too. Sorry, I can't picture using Kim Chee as I love to eat it too much,, but have colloidal silver onhand and started using that as nose drops. The drainage is completely gone now. No morning head to clear out for over an hour every day. All the junk coming down is gone . I don't think anyone ever told me that it could be a fungal sort of problem too. The Csilver after 3-4 days and I have relief. Best wishes
Wow! 6-7 drops of Sovereign Silver Colloidal Silver drops into my left & right sinuses definitely worked almost instantly for my sinus infection too. I followed that up by inhaling eucalyptus & tea tree essential oil (via nasal inhaler) to give my sinus infection a powerful one-two punch. How sweet it is to breathe freely again. 8v)
Salt and colloidal silver in water helped my sinusitis greatly. I haven’t had a problem since December 2019, the last time I was sick with…something. Had a wet cough and runny nose. I started supplementing with Vitamin D, C, zinc with copper, Ancestral Supplements grass fed beef liver and thymus. I haven’t been sick since then. So we’re talking almost 2 years.
Mixing silver and salt creates a different compound that is not so healthy. I use both but not together.
Great! Thank you so much for sharing.
Are you putting the collodial up your nose?
Brilliant!
I always love your content! Thanks again for sharing useful information 😊👍

After a recent nastier, longer cold than usual, that actually dragged on long enough to give me a bit of bronchitis and absolutely miserable sinuses again (haven’t had that in a long time), I remembered your video here about kimchi juice. Swabbing with a q tip didn’t really do it for me, but I scaled it up a bit and squirted it in with an eyedropper. I did this for about four days. Didn’t seem to be getting too far, until today I suddenly noticed my head felt ok! Surprisingly ok! Thank you, Dr. Berg, because this problem was bad enough that it seemed to be giving me back that tussive headache I suffered from some years ago....and if you have never had that, I promise that you never, never want it (*intense* pain when you cough or sneeze, like your head was a giant bell and somebody rang it.) I will keep irrigating with the kimchi juice for another week or two, but this is beautiful, beautiful relief. It’s as good as that steroid I was prescribed in 2015 for the original condition...except that oral steroid (can’t remember the name) had ‘diabetes’ listed as one of the potential side effects. It didn’t give me diabetes, but if I had to roll that dice over and over for recurring sinus problems like that, I’m guessing I might not come up so lucky every time. Whew...
Perfect timing Doctor. Thank you.
Very glad to be of help.

Real Doctor, thank you! Do you have any videos about the sphenoid sinuses? I suspect I may have an infection there
Thanks Dr, very comprehensive information
I really appreciate you saying so!
Neilmed changed my life. It's a sinus rinse made by the people that make netipot. Twice a year I was guaranteed a sinus infection, once during spring shortly after the trees bloom and once in September usually toward the middle of the month regardless of temperature or allergens in the air. For about 10 years now, I've been using it a couple times daily. It cleans out every bit of grossness imaginable and I haven't had a sinus infection since I started using it.
Your mileage may vary.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge ❤️
