Let’s talk about how to get some relief from a sinus infection or sinusitis, especially if it’s chronic. If the situation is chronic, it could be due to a fungus, and there could also be biofilms.
Biofilms are like little calcium houses that protect bacteria or other types of microbes from being destroyed by an antibiotic. But there are natural things that can inhibit the formation of biofilms as well as kill the fungus.
Nasal irrigation or a nasal rinse can be very beneficial in this situation. You can make your own, but it may be less expensive just to buy one with the ingredients you need in it.
Kimchi juice may also be a great natural remedy for a sinus infection. There is a specific microbe in kimchi juice, which is very effective for clearing out mucus and infections in the sinuses. You can put a small amount of diluted kimchi juice on a Q-tip and put it in your nostril each day to repopulate this microbe.
When you take an antibiotic, it kills bacteria but not fungus. This is why the biggest side effect of an antibiotic is the overgrowth of a fungus.
Two ingredients to look for in a nasal rinse:
    1. Xylitol
    • Decreases the formation of biofilms
    • Suppresses the growth of fungus
    2. Grapefruit seed extract
    • Anti-fungal
    • Antibacterial
You can also try mixing 1% (about a drop) of baby shampoo into a saline solution and use that in your nasal rinse as well to help inhibit biofilms.

I had more successes with Dr Berg's advices than I had with physicians with preventive measures and nutrition (because MD's do not study much nutrition - actually one MD admitted having studied four hours of it in all of his medical curriculum). It's a world of specialisation and Dr Berg is the best I know in natural remedies. Thank you very much!

Nasal rinsing was life altering for me. I used to fight with sinus infections all the time. Now, I usually do a spray every day with saline, xyletol & grapefruit extract (pre-mixed over the counter) and that usually keeps me clear. If I do feel things start backing up I do the full sinus rinse. I can’t remember the last time I needed an antibiotic for a sinus infection.

I had problem with my left eustachian tube resulting in blocked left ear for almost 10 year, headache, earache, etc. Several times of visits to ENT doctors didn’t work either. Now I’m 90% free of my left ear problems thanks to humming. I’ve found several articles about chanting/humming which is beneficial to sinus problems etc. I did it for 1 hour daily for the first 3 days and my left ear cleared up 70%-80% right away. Since then I hum daily whenever I find the time to.

That head cold turned into a secondary infection-sinusitis. I already deal with sinus issues bc I have a deviated septum that I actually tried to correct with surgery but I waited too late in life & it only helped maybe 10%. It just fell back closer to where it originally was. Anyway, this video was the first i heard of using both GSE & xylitol in a nasal rinse. It burned like crazy but oh my word!!! Immediate relief. I also bought the xclear that another commenter mentioned. So so grateful 🙏

For years and years I've had sinus issues and bad allergies. A couple months ago I came down with a bad cold and then a fever. The fever did something that triggered my sinus to clear out completely, and a few days later my sinus was releasing all this long slimy green rope like substance out of my nose. I was amazed at how much was trapped in my sinus. It was mind boggling and made so much sense to explaining the issues I have been having for years. Better out than in, that's for sure. Cleaning the sinus is something you definitely want to consider and keep up, I know I will.

After a recent nastier, longer cold than usual, that actually dragged on long enough to give me a bit of bronchitis and absolutely miserable sinuses again (haven’t had that in a long time), I remembered your video here about kimchi juice. Swabbing with a q tip didn’t really do it for me, but I scaled it up a bit and squirted it in with an eyedropper. I did this for about four days. Didn’t seem to be getting too far, until today I suddenly noticed my head felt ok! Surprisingly ok! Thank you, Dr. Berg, because this problem was bad enough that it seemed to be giving me back that tussive headache I suffered from some years ago....and if you have never had that, I promise that you never, never want it (*intense* pain when you cough or sneeze, like your head was a giant bell and somebody rang it.) I will keep irrigating with the kimchi juice for another week or two, but this is beautiful, beautiful relief. It’s as good as that steroid I was prescribed in 2015 for the original condition...except that oral steroid (can’t remember the name) had ‘diabetes’ listed as one of the potential side effects. It didn’t give me diabetes, but if I had to roll that dice over and over for recurring sinus problems like that, I’m guessing I might not come up so lucky every time. Whew...

Neilmed changed my life. It's a sinus rinse made by the people that make netipot. Twice a year I was guaranteed a sinus infection, once during spring shortly after the trees bloom and once in September usually toward the middle of the month regardless of temperature or allergens in the air. For about 10 years now, I've been using it a couple times daily. It cleans out every bit of grossness imaginable and I haven't had a sinus infection since I started using it.
    Your mileage may vary.
