Currently best calisthenics content on RUclips. I learned nothing new but still enjoyed the video. I can only imagine how valuable it must be for a beginner.
Can we celebrate and appreciate the fact that this guy is giving us highly well researched and self experienced knowledge for free in a comprehensible manner with asking for nothing more than a like? He is a genius in displaying both skill and modesty. Great channel! Seriously, you're amazing!
most underrated calisthenics channel on YT.. ttuly glad i found it, you're inspiring me to get back to trying to achieve it after i stopped for a long while
How am I just NOW finding this video. I’ve spent the last year learning as many press variations as possible and this video explains perfectly everything I had to painstakingly discover for myself. This would have expedited my progress so much if I found it even just a year ago
I finally achieved my handstand (not just a lucky one but doing it everytime) on 11th dec. 2022. I started in the 1st week of September 2021. I went through almost 10 thousand failure to finally reach at my goal. Man i was so happy that day, it surely was one my happiest days
Thank you. And thatnk you once again for the footage. I really appreciate the help and gonna be very grateful if you participate in the next projects ;)
These videos are so In-depth! Too many calisthenics youtubers just do stupid challenges and un helpful lists. This stuff is saccutally super useful! thank you!
I'm now 31 years old and having twins with my wife in March. HS was a big dream of mine, as just like you, I started this year tumbling around on the floor after watching RUclips videos and now I've finally somewhat mastered some 15-30 second consistant HS. The press however I haven't trained and now my new goal until I get my twins (and not sure how much I can train for some time after that), will be to make any form of HS press. I will rewatch this video again and try to find the easiest progression and then go for it. Thanks, this was very well explained!
7:00 yo i was doing back limbers (what you call backbend press) a few years ago, if anyone does that make sure you are flaring your elbows outward. i would do the opposite cuz i was used to keeping my elbows in when doing handstand push ups. one day i was doing back limbers until i couldn't do any more, go do something else, come back and do more, etc. eventually i severely disloacted my arm, it was like in front of my collar bone. thankfully i intuitively reset it myself safely and overall haven't had any long term consequences, but i still don't train this move anymore. but i never was able to do any other kind of handstand press at all (nor was i ever any good with even the tuck planche), i was just very good with the back bridge. at one point i could go from a standing position, lean back into a wrestler's bridge without using my hands, and then stand back up directly from the wrestler's bridge, never touching the ground with anything besides my feet and the top of my head.

This has got to be, hands down, my favorite calisthenic video on youtube. Keep up the great work and trust me you'll get the recognition you deserve one day! And when that happens, I can proudly say that I was here when this guy only had 20k below subs. with a wide ass grin on my face.
Bro every video is urs is literally made like a movie, along with useful info ur videos are filmed very neatly enjoyed every second and helped me a lot❤🎉 I'm stuck on 8sec hs hold but maybe I'll get hs under a month from now
Its always very motivating to watch these progress videos. Also, very well explained video. Most calisthenics channels don't put much effort into production quality and actual informative content. Your channel is one of the very few that does it.Keep up the good work! I really enjoy your content.
Thank you for the support with everything i create here. I got dreams with this channels and you are one of those people that make me stay in that and continue working. Got the list of future projects, gonna inform about everything on the instagram. Once again, big thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Haha great to hear that! The work is paying off than. Oh good luck with your straddle press! Are you far away from it, or feel like you're getting there soon?
I have been working my hamstring flexibility and it's got much better, (palms flat on the floor now) but my shoulder strength is a weak point compared with the rest of my (upper) body. After a day of heavy press work I've also had a pain in my weaker side shoulder, which I'm now looking to work on. Any tips for that? It's the lateral raise movement that brings me pain. The pain is not too bad but I want to address it. I was looking into basic rubber band strengthening. Thanks! :)
Hmm i think the first thing to check is how much work you are actually doing. Once you know you are not over - training this area you can do things like pike pushups or even lateral raises for strengthening. Stay safe brother and all the best with progressing
Oh definitely. Any footage highly appreciated! And btw probably for the next video I will need ANY kind of training clips, so just wait till i announce it on instagram ;)
Wow, that was extremely high quality information. You could make a post about it on Reddit r/bodyweightfitness, I bet it would be appreciated by many people. Another distinction in classification would be based on the apparatus, so floor, parallel bars, single bar, uneven objects etc., or different grips (supinated, neutral, fingertips, less fingers, fists, wrist etc.) but mechanically they are the same so it makes sense that they are not in the chart, and it would be a lot of variations anyways. Some uncommon variations are pressing from a forearm or prayer planche variation, but that's advanced stuff. And the craziest presses I've seen are from one arm elbow lever through one arm handstand flag with a straight body, and one arm planche presses. I wonder if someone's done it all the way from a one arm support hold, I've only seen someone reaching the horizontal one arm planche position from there.
Good point with the uncommon advanced variations. Well i obviously did not mention any one arm variations, but good point they do exist. Yes and very good point with apparatus, i thought about it but decided to create it based on mechanics. Lastly, I always hesitate cause i heard reddit communities are not really positive about self promoting. So unless someone posts my stuff there I don't do it myself. Thank you for the comment! Always appreciate the feedback of this type.
At the moment the rules for that community are that you can post self promoting content once a week, it just has to include some info in the post itself, not just the link to your video, so for example you could write down a summary of the points mentioned in the video. If in doubt you can message the moderators with a preview of your post and ask if it's fine. The people who get their posts removed usually didn't even read the posting guidelines.
The video is so good, I don't understand how you don't have more subs! I felt really related with you (I'm very beginner learning handstand and I'm kindly obsessed haha), I can only hold back to wall handstand, but I'm in love with the press, should I try it or wait till I get a free balancing kicking handstand? Loved the vid
as a powerlifter & strongman.... I want to start seeing my body go beyond its "limits" as a natural athlete. ive only done ONE handstand push up in my life. goal is 3 freestanding by the end of the year.. WITH THIS VIDEO, I know I can get there!!

Only had a quick look but I'll set time aside to look at this in depth as there appears to be much to motivate teach and challenge me. I really do want that press to hstand. You seem to have outdone coach Sommer with this video in terms of the science of movement. The Art Of is a great idea.
Thank you very much for this video. This is a tremendous source of information for the intermediate and advanced handstands. Thank you also for your chart with the classification of the handstand press types.
Bro really amaizing work... Your channel is really underrated and more people should watch you, and you REALLY cought me on hs press, I have been practicing hs for a month now and got stronger shoulders, mostly for planche, but I decided to go a bit slower cuz I was doing planche training for 8 months and I cant even hold a straddle planche, and I was always wondering, with side facts that the planche is the most hardest isometric elements in calisthenics, why are there people who achieve planche in less than 6 months, what did they do to achieve this, and I think u made me realize that press is really important and I left planche on waiting list for now, until i get strong in hs press, I wont be training planche lmao, good work!
Great content as usual! Really enjoyed your analysis of various HS presses and the mechanics/breakdown involved with achieving them. I enjoy tutorial type videos, but you give a better understanding of the movement itself which is essential when learning a new skill!
Thats what i wanna do! I think there are enough tutorials out there so wanna be unique with my content. BUT i might do tutorial series in the future as well. Who knows, we got time ;) Thank you for the comment and for participating in the video. More then happy to see you in next projects.
