I mean you have no clue how essential you are to all of us. Thanks for the Pro Bono work literally. There's a shortage of black dematologists out there and thanks for your knowledge and generosity 💕
I put together a routine based off the information from this video. It’s only been 2 weeks and people are already telling me it looks like I have a new glow or something. Thanks Doc ❤️
I cannot believe I’m just now finding your channel!!! I’m taking notes & just feel like crying bc I don’t have any black doctors around me at all so I’m so thankful for you
I built a skincare routine based off of these tips, and I must say THANK YOU! In just a few days, I already see a huge difference with moisturized and properly protected skin.
Thanks for including sensitive skin with your tips. Your video made me realize I need to make better decisions on when to stop using a product. It's frustrating when even a basic moisturizer makes me feel a little (or a lot) of burning and stinging.
@@naejessica14 still not totally set on any one product, but I did have great results with the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer and more recently good results with the Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer. I’ll probably start trying more Korean and Japanese products in that category. And for sunscreen i recently like the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, but my top choice so far is the Skin Aqua moisture milk (or moisture gel) sunscreens. The moisture milk leaves a bit of a white cast, but it works better for my oily skin because it has a demi matte finish and it doesn’t sting my eyes like the gel does lol.
I enjoy Paula's Choice Omega moisturizer. It lasts all night and has improved my skin. However, until watching this video, I hadn't realized how good omegas are for hyperpigmentation! Thank you.
I use the Cerave moisturizing lotion in the morning, before sunscreen. I even use 2 or even 3 layers of it, depending on how thirsty my skin feels. Then I have breakfast, and about half an hour after that I'll put on my sunscreen.
The Differin Restorative Night moisturizer is also a great one for dry/normal skin types that has omegas. It has sunflower seed oil, niacinamide, Allantoin, & licorice root, and ceramides. I do not know how they packed all these incredible things into such a cosmetically elegant formula, but my hats are off to them! Imo, it’s light but moisturizing like CeraPM, but way better. The texture is so much more pleasant to me.
Can you please do a video on skin cycling?? It’s been trending and really want to listen to your opinions and recommendations! Thanks so much for being so informative! You’re literally my favorite skincare guru.
So much great information… for free! Thank you so much. I’ve been to so many dermatologists to treat my aging, acne prone, oily skin that just happens to have hyperpigmentation. Nothing seems to work since many doctors try selling you their products that are grossly overpriced, yet do nothing to improve the health of my skin. Fingers crossed, I’m going to follow your recommendations in this video and update a few products in my morning and night time routine. 🙏🏽💕
I just was talking about this this morning as I was doing my routine simplicity will always be effective Just cleanse Viramin C serum Light moisturizer And don’t forget your sunscreen and to reapply every two hours the mornings are all about protection
Wow, I've been oily skin for the longet, and use oily skin products, but lately my skin has been drying out, and I wasn't sure what was going on. I just did the test and found out I'm currently normal skin, no now I have to change all my skin care products, omg, thank you Dr Alexis
This was so informative and helpful. I like that she mentioned that a person's skin type can change And so you have to adjust the products that you use based on your new skin type.
Thank you for giving the “Okay!” On moisturizing sunscreen!! I LOVE Cerave am and have been using it for years, but I’ve been hearing a lot of fear mongering on moisturizing sunscreens lately to say they aren’t as effective as a standalone sunscreen so a literally bought one recently because of this >.
Wow, you have no idea how much I appreciate this and your channel overall. Thank you for listening to us and making this video. I appreciate this so much!!!!!!!!!!! ♥️
Thank you for this video! This was extremely helpful!🙌🏽 I’ve been struggling to just figure out a basic skincare routine, so thank you again for this very informative video!
I just need to schedule a virtual appointment with Dr.Alexis so that I can get a better morning and night regiment. Dermatologist here where I am do not really help melanin people and I’m over it.
Thank you for this video! I took your advice for my dry skin and acne and the products I’m using are really improving my skin over time. Definitely pleased! 😊
I’ve scrolled and searched for this video! This the one ☝️ it’s so much out there you don’t know what to get. I was just in ulta yesterday for eye concealer and the helpful young lady told me about lasorbic acid and I put it back on the shelf🤦🏽♀️ going back today to get it. New subbie 🎉 thank you!
Good morning! Lately I’ve been thinking about creating my routines so your video was right on time! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the link with your favorite products! Keep inspiring!✨
Thank you so much for this content. Yes, I "over did it" with using too many skincare products & recommendations! I confess to being like the role your mom played in one of your previous video shorts ~ lured with temptation to sample all those new skincare products!!! Haha
Hi there! This is a super good video. I had a couple of follow ups to this. First, do you still need to use a moisturizing SPF if you don’t go outside or if it’s not sunny? The other question is, do you recommend any over-the-counter products for each of these steps?
@@DrAlexisStephens Hi Dr. Thanks so much for your time. I am new to the skincare world, have no skin care products no routine, basically nothing planned out for my skin. I am plan to start right away, but I am expecting. Can I still go ahead with the steps and products you listed for a normal skin? Any tips? Thanks you
I love how you explain everything. Detailed and concise information with very nice delivery in your speech. The video editing is also superb. Elegant. Thank you for the video!
Hi Rita I live in Massachusetts Dracut to be precise would love if you gave me the contacts of the dermatologist am struggling with acne and would love to visit a black dermatologist I have seen other ones but would like someone who understands my skin.
if I have no skin concerns, like i just have kinda dry skin and i ocasionally get some pimples (not many tho and usually only on my forhead near my hairline, and in the middle of my eyebrows), what should i use for step 2 of the nighttime skincare? should i just skip it?
Thank you for this video. I love it. Ever since I started using Louis Widmer, I started receiving a lot of compliments from people about my skin appearance.
Thanks so much for the info! I have tailored my skin routine based on this otherwise I would be lost. I wondered if you had any info on topical or supplement melatonin as an antioxidant for hyperpigmentation? Thanks again!
Omg I love you and your channel. A video I would like to see is a video on dark circles and bags under eyes. I had an iron deficiency and got that under control but how do I begin to lighten my eyes. I love your channel! Thanks for the content!
This is such valuable info! I'll have to adjust my routine. I've been using shea butter as a way to moisture my face and body followed by sunscreen. You didn't mention anything about toners and masks, I don't use any but I'm not sure if they're truly necessary.
Great info! I’ve been trying to figure out why some morning I wake up with super oily skin despite using la roche -posay’s double repair moisturizer before bed😩
Thank you for this information. What would you suggest for someone in their 50 dealing with anti-aging plus hormonal acne? Can you please do a video on this please. Thanks.
I have ordered the products you mentioned for daytime routine and I'm pretty excited about it. However, for my nighttime routine, I use a dermatologist prescribed Hydroquinone/Tretinoin/Kojic Acid combo and the moisturizer I use on top of that is currently CeraVe. Is it safe to switch to one of the ones with Vitamin F that you mentioned?
I’m a 40 yo man with no hx of acne. My issue is aging and texture. I use a bha and aha cleanser in the am a beard moisturizer and a moisturizer over face and 50 sunscreen. At night I use a black soap cleaner, moisturizer, and rx trentinoin niacinamide trenexamic . Just started a month ago. I want to try some Ordinary salicylic mask once a week. I do have an oily and dry t zone but otherwise I have normal skin.
Plan to use lnkey Niacinamide + ordinary retinol (2%). The steps would be at night, cleanse face, then put lnkey Niacinamide on damp face, and then let it dry for 20 minutes. Then put ordinary retinol (cos retinol need to be put on dry skin). Once a week, use ordinary BHA+AHA peeling solution. Hopefully this is correct procedure.
I love this! So informative. Is there any way you could do a rosacea skin care routine and products you recommend for it? I just finished buying a bunch of Cerave products thinking I was dealing with just acne, but it’s rosacea and it’s confusing me what to use! Thank you so much.
Thanks for the excellent video as usual! I would like you to do a video on hydroquinone for hyperpigmentation. I’d like to understand the risks a little more and what the chemical does. I am currently using cyspera but I’m afraid my hyperpigmentation is “below the dermis” and therefore not treatable with cyspera. I’m assuming at this point it’s genetics. Anyway, Thanks!!
