Or K-Beauty. Much better quality and often drugstore prices. I know this is an older post, but maybe I'm not alone in watching this later. Or you check your message notifications ;). Whatever the case, I'd love to give you my affordable options. I've not used drugstore skincare - as in moisturisers or toners - over 30 years as my skin is too difficult. Everything the specialists subscribed or suggested I buy either didn't work properly or was too expensive for me...or both. So I 'went abroad'. The majority of my shower products still comes from Greece (Korres), but my actual skincare regime is a mix between Korean & British. Paula's Choice is amazing, yes. But way too expensive. So serum wise - after I just couldn't keep up with buying my serums from PC or another expensive brand from Switzerland - I've experimented over the years. I tried Revolution beauty, Inkey List, The Ordinary, Essence and Skincyclopedia. Some were great, some were less great (usually due to how the actives were mixed with an oil and I got Pilling). I've recently decided to try to use Korean brands for my most important serums as I have a new skincare & makeup haul coming up from Yesstyle and Stylevana anyway. It's impossible to get tretinoin here in my country. Only otc retinoids/retinol below 1%. They rarely subscribe it for severe acne cases even, so if you want it for moderate cystic acne & anti ageing: forget it. So, I'm dependent on OTC stuff. I was able to buy a higher % from a French pharmacy but unfortunately they used a paraffin type as a base 'cream' and I have night sweats - this doesn't combine. And to have that shiny vaseline face during the day is also awful 😖. So, I'm back to affordable OTC brands. MY CURRENT (AND FORMER) ROUTINE + SWITCH: Vitamin C 20%: currently by Skincyclopedia. Great stuff, just as good as the VitC booster by Paula's Choice actually. Worked wonders for my cystic acne as it's anti-inflammatory and those painful red gigantic pimples had decreased by at least 50% overnight. As my drugstore around the corner finally sells it I'll probably keep using this in the future, but I bought COSRX Vit C23% already for when this bottle is done, so we'll see which one I like best. Btw: I highly dislike the Revolution beauty Vitamin C and am not a fan of the The Ordinary Ascorbyl solution either (though many are). Lactic Acid 5%: by The Ordinary. Good stuff, but want to up my % a bit, so I'm either getting TO 10% or switching to Cos de Baha 12.5%, which is Korean. Lactic Acid basically does what all the other acids does (fight against sebum, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, dead skin etc), but it's more suitable for sensitive/ dry skin. It will have a milder effect and when my milia or other nonsense are terrible again I need harsher stuff. But I can use this daily, even twice daily, unlike other acids. Glycolic Acid 10%: by Revolution beauty. It's okay. I used to have Louis Widmer AHA cream which seemed to do more in even the 5% version, but it's become too expensive. I'll finish this Revolution Glycolic Acid and will go back to a general AHA solution. Either the COSRX 7% Toner - which is extremely popular, especially with acne prone consumers who use it in conjunction with their ABH one - or the IsnTree 8% Essence. Probably the latter as it's better for dry skin. Retinol: Currently in use the Vitamin A- mazing Bakuchiol Night Cream mini testversion by Wishtrend + Revolution Retinol Super Intense 1% serum. Sigh... as you could read earlier this is an ongoing search. So far the only retinol that was okay was the booster from Paula's Choice icw the Skin Recovery Antioxidant Serum (fantastic for very dry skin) but...€$€$€$€. I've tried The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid in Squalane: not for me. Also didn't see any results after 6mths. This Revolution serum is stronger, but has the same issue: way too oily. Inkey List one didn't seem to do anything, though felt better as a cream. The Wishtrend just feels like a nice light cream. Not sure bakuchiol does anything for my 47yo face. I might try the newest The Ordinary Retinol 1%, although it's once again in Squalane. Other contenders: Cerave Retinol Serum (though seems very acne targeted), Skincyclopedia Retinol 1% (ugh Squalane), IsnTree Hyper Retinol Ex 1.0 % or SOME BY MI retinol Intense. Niacinamide 10%: currently the one by The Ordinary with zinc. I prefer without zinc, so got the RNW Der. Concentrate. That one is a tad pricey (then again, as it's 30ml it's actually cheaper per ml), so I might get the Skincyclopedia afterwards. Eyecream: Embryolisse eye contour care for eye cream. It's okay, am not blown away. Heard great things about Beauty of Joseon Revive eyecream or the COSRX snail peptide eyecream. Essence: Have been using the Pyungkang Yul blue line Essence Toner for years. It's predominantly hydrating. So, I've recently also gotten the COSRX Propolis Synergy Essence (healing, antibacterial, brightening) and the COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin power Essence (had snail mucin products before and they leave your skin so soft and plump!), as well as the TirTir Milk Toner. I'll wait and see which one my skin likes best and that one I'll buy again in a year 😂. Sunscreen: My sunscreen is currently from Beauty of Joseon. Not the tube, but the pump - as that's a SPF50 that's also a moisturiser and in summer I hate multiple layers. But I also have a Purito one and some other K-Beauty brands like IsnTree to test out over the coming months. I always used the Red Grape SPF50 from Korres (Greek), but it has become difficult to order. Hence on an experimental journey. The Beauty of Joseon was great btw. Very hydrating, no white cast, easy to smear and I didn't burn for a second, zero redness anywhere. Moisturiser day & night: Normally my moisturiser is from the blue line of Pyungkang Yul, the Nutrition Cream (day) or the Intense Repair Cream (night), which I now use together with their Essence Toner and the middle step is the Ceramidin Cream Mist by Dr. Jart+. My skin is extremely dry, very reactive and eczema prone, so I use an extra hydrating or (summer:) calming Face mist throughout the day too. While I'm satisfied about the moisturiser and repair part of the creams, even though I still miss my discontinued Korres creams, I want a bit more anti ageing in my day and night cream, so I'm currently looking into alternatives that are very good for extremely dry skin, are absorbed well, but also attack wrinkles. F.e. Elizavetta Aqua HyaluronicAcid Water Drop Cream, APLB - EFG Collagen Mousture Cream, Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream, Zeesea Palace Identity Toning Cream (doubles as foundation), Mizon Collagen Power Lifting Cream and the Skin House Wrinkle Supreme Emulsion have all caught my eye on Yesstyle, but I'll research a little further before buying. Like checking Stylevana and Koreanskincare dot eu as well for options and check reviews and ingredients. And if I can have multiple items from the same brand I usually prefer that. Btw if any of you has oily skin/acne/rosaecea then the calming green line of Pyungkang Yul is a great option as well. What I love about PY is that it is a no nonsense brand that doesn't use fragrance or scents nor any other potentially harmful stuff/allergens. They have a few different lines that are all great and often very popular. I've not used it for years just because 😉. COSRX toners and Essences are often very popular with oily skinned people as well. ANYWAY.. I hope my current and future regime might be useful to you guys. Will give you ideas and options you didn't have before. The most expensive products on this list are around 20 bucks where I buy (Yesstyle), but if you then realise that K-Beauty serums predominantly have 30ml instead of the 10ml you get with The Ordinary f.e. and toners even come in 150ml or 200ml sizes for a tiny bit more (of course exceptions always exist, but this is generally speaking) then they're almost always equal or even much lower in price than their popular drugstore and affordable indie counterparts that are 10ml and max 100ml respectively. Good luck!! I hope you've found your perfect regime already, or soon will have one - perhaps with my suggestions!
I love to see a dermatologist who does a lengthier skincare routine as some derms will be like oh you just need sunscreen and yours done but I like to use all the toners, essence, and serums before my sunscreen
Very informative, steps are clear and I love the fact that some of the things you experience right now with your skin are normal and very relatable. I personally have hormonal acne as well so the idea that even a dermatologist says it's normal makes me feel comfortable with my skin. You have earned a well-deserved subscription!🥰
I'm just happy when I see that I'm doing things in the right order and using the correct products for my issues. I'm like a sports fan watching a game.
Such good advice. You hit all the markers on what products to use before and after one another. Feeling confident to try a routine change with my beauty treatment. Thank you sam
You are a gem for sharing your extensive experience and knowledge of skincare. I'm so thankful for your extremely helpful videos and rare authenticity. On a side note, my skin despises glycerin. Most products have it as a main ingredient. (Even the expensive skincare has it even though it's a cheap ingredient)Glycerin causes my skin to be sticky, look dehydrated, and wrinkly. After I first apply a product with glycerin, it looks dewy and hydrated. Unfortunately, a few hours later, my skin looks 10 years older 👎 I avoid it at all costs. If it's far down on the ingredients then it's ok
Thanks for this video! I have one tip that I do everyday with my skin care. I get all of my serums, moisturizer etc on then brush my teeth. By the time I’m done my face is good to go to do my make up. It’s just about the perfect amount of time for me. 😊 I love your videos and I hope you have a great week!
This is a little different than an average skincare video, but I think having a “laundry picks” and the importance of understanding the impact of detergents and other laundry products on the skin would be awesome!
I'm allergic to chemical sunscreens - recently stumbled onto "Cetaphil Sun 50 Sheer Mineral Face Liquid Sunscreen". Works great, no white residue, I apply it under makeup.
Thanks, Dr. Ellis! Great info. I’m curious how long you wait to put sunscreen on after your moisturizer? Should your moisturizer set as well for 15-minutes?
Dr.Ellis I love, love your skincare channel. You are my very favorite Dermatologist and thank you for all the great information and advice you always give to us.
I always enjoy your helpful videos. My dermatologist tells me to cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen, that's it. I have dry, sensitive, rosacea-prone skin. I'm glad you advised that your viewers to consult their own dermatologist for a recommendation on what is best for them. As much as I'd love to use many beautiful skin products, my skin can not handle it.
I appreciate this information so much. For years I believed you had to layer certain products in order or they wouldn't work. Now that you've explained that that's not true I can finally put my face oil or my CeraVe ointment on first, and then apply my serums after.
Thank you. I appreciate your expertise. My question is about using cream or liquid makeup after applying sunscreen. I know you state to wait 15-20 minutes after applying sunscreen to apply makeup but don’t you still have to worry about the liquid or cream breaking down the sunscreen like you do with applying moisturizer after sunscreen?
There’s no perfect answer here because it’s going to vary quite a bit based on which SPF and which type of makeup is being used, as well the application technique (brush, sponge, fingertips, etc.). But yes, you do need to be mindful of this and makeup likely does disturb our spf to some degree (which is another reason why we shouldn’t solely rely upon sunscreen for our UV protection).
@@DrSamEllis Will makeup lessen the skincare benefits? I don’t know if Its because I may have heard that before or am just paranoid but I feel like makeup cancels out my skincare
Thanks so much! Your makeup is always so flawless but you have to have good skin to work with. I love that you showed your routine and named all the products you use. Thanks once again for being so generous in educating us about good skincare hygiene. Love your videos!
Hi! Could you make a video that explains what actives you can mix and those that actually deactivate when mixed? Very conflicting info about this online. Thank you!
You are such a beautiful person and I love your soothing voice! Thank you for wanting to help people with their skin, I have learnt so much from you 😍 One thing I was pleasently surprised by was the fact that you used ascorbic acid and peptides together in the same rutine! I have read that you should not do that because the ascorbic acid will break down the bonds. Can you explain how these two work together? I have been afraid of using them at the same time, and I didn't want to use a vitamin C alternative so this is good news for me!
I've read the same in multiple places - peptides break down in the presence of acids and strong antioxidants. I've just been using AHA/BHA and Vit C am and peptides in the pm with tret.
this was the best video I've seen so far and it was exactly what I was looking for. you're amazing at explaining everything, thank you! what would you recommend for a morning routine when there is gym included? I go to the gym about an hour after I've applied everything and then get sweaty and have to wash it all off, but the problem is that I don't have the time afterwards to do it all again, and it feels like such a waste of product to wash it off so quickly afterwards.
To be / stay inspired motivated and others will share a tip ! I like spring water or purified water on washcloth then out in microwave heat and cleanse face if I need to shoulders chest back of neck then moisturize and spf go out .
I love this video! Thank you Dr. Ellis. I was super confused on how to incorporate my SA with my vitamin C since I use retinol at night. Can’t wait for another vid in the future 😊
Thank you for this! I would be interested in seeing the same morning routine but with copper peptides instead of vitamin C. I have found that my skin prefers copper peptides, but I have read that there are some rules about layering products with them that may cancel out the effects.
I noticed that she is using a vitamin C product and then the Medik8 peptide serum, which contains copper peptides (based on the ingredients list). I always believed that copper peptides should not be combined with vitamin C. Is this belief a myth?
AND another derm says separate vit C from exfoliants. She recommends vit C in am and exfoliant at night bevause the SA changes your PH. So I'm seeing a lot of things here that directly conflict with what I thought was a concensus about vit C and salicylic acid.
For an spf 50 lip screen, I use Paula's Choice Lipscreen spf 50.. I buy 4 at a time so I don't run out. The price went up, so I wait for a sale, which is frequent.
At last, a good and informative video on how to and why layer products in a particular way! And thanks for the explanation of not having to wait for each layer to dry! Two mornings per week I leave for work at 7am, I now know I don't have to get up at 5am to do my morning routine 😅😅 Keep up the great work Sam.
Good morning.. Thank you so much for sharing..🤗 I am 61 years old and of course a sunbather when I was younger. I just started a few years ago watching RUclips videos in what to use for the face. Sometimes I feel like I just do a huge overkill.. Any thoughts? A.M. serums I use: timeless skin care 20% vitamin C ferulic acid vitamin E, The ordinary lactic acid 5%, B5 hydration serum, and coenzyme Q 10. P.M. serums I use: The ordinary buffet copper peptide 1%, Needle-less, Matrixyl Synthe’ 6, timeless hyaluronic acid and then my prescription Tretinoin cream. I do put moisturizer on and sunscreen as well and have some devices that I use. No irritation on my skin, but it all does add up money and timewise.. Value your opinion and thank you for spreading a little sunshine our way.
One of the serums I recently started using has SPF in it - I've been using it in the serum step (before moisturizer) - especially in the summer I often add another sunscreen on top of moisturizer, too, but now I'm wondering if putting on a moisturizer over the serum is making the serum's SPF less effective? 🤔 Recently found your videos and immediately subscribed - loving the info you're providing so far!
Can the products get dried with a fan? My routine is very much this one but Estee Lauder ANR instead of the moisturizer. Fell like everything takes forever to dry and have been using a fan to dry it faster so I can go to makeup and head out the door fast
I love all the layering info! Thank you!!! I need to save this video to rewatch a few times to really figure out my own routine. Question: how does retinol fit into this kind of routine? Is there anything we should NOT be layering with retinol (or other forms of vitamin A)? Question 2: what are your best recommendations for applying (reapplying) sunscreen AFTER you have put on makeup for the day?
Yaaassss!! This and the video on your nighttime skincare routine are now my Holy Grail! I am thrilled you did these - thank you SO much!! I can't tell you how much I struggled with what goes in which order before watching these. I'm glad to know I've been doing things right! Thank you for taking the time and energy to create such comprehensive videos. I love them! ❤
Love all the informative videos !! What is the best way to introduce a new product into your skincare routine . (Especially being rosacea / sensitive prone) Where is the best area to do a patch test?
New fan here and I’ve been binge watching your very helpful videos the last few days! Thanks for sharing. Question: you mentioned in your older videos that eye cream isn’t necessary or that it was a marketing strategy, I’m wondering if that has charged since you included that in your routine in this video? Wondering if I should start using eye cream as well… Question 2: do you wear sunscreen even if you don’t go out? I’ve always been hesitant in putting on sunscreen because it feels sticky and feels like it is clogging my pores. Is it true that some sunscreen could clog pores?
I love how you have multiple steps and not only recommending moisturizer and sunscreen. And I love that you were using skinceuticals and Betrrr skin science more luxury items. I’m tired of dermatologist only recommending drugstore stuff.
Hi Dr. Sam, I’ve been using medik8 peptides for a while now after watching this video, and I am loving them!! I’ve been using them at night before I use my tretinoin prescription. I have a question is it okay to use twice a day morning and night? Also, the vitamin C that I use in the morning is a thicker creamier consistency than the skinceuticals. in my morning routine, would it be OK to apply the peptide serum first since it is thinner than my vit C? Thank you!! Love all your advice!!
I love your videos. Question: I just watched two that seem to have conflicting advice. One of your videos says that sunscreen comes after everything else - last layer before you walk out the door and reapply every two hours. But this video seems to say sunscreen goes on after the other actives but before putting on makeup. It’s the main question I always have. Which goes on first - makeup or sunscreen. And after I’ve already got makeup on then how do I reapply sunscreen later?
Thanks so much, great info! I have a question: if I use the Bobbi Brown moisturiser/primer AFTER sunscreen, as a primer, will that mess with the sunscreen? I do wait for the sunscreen to absorb and I do wear a moisturiser under the sunscreen. I just love the Bobbi Brown primer under foundation. X
I’ve found that I can’t use L Ascorbic Acid or any chemical exfoliants with Retin-a. They’re both too strong for me and I see the most results with the Retin-a so that’s what I’m sticking with. I use a hydrating antioxidant or peptide serum in the AM under my sunscreen and only use moisturizer over my Retin-a and dark spot targeting leave on at night. I’ve been very happy with Agency and that’s where I get my Retin-a and dark spot formula.
Do we have to wait long before applying the moisturizer/sunscreen after vitamin C serum or any kind of serum essence toner? I always wait the vitamin C to absorb before applying my moisturizer and sometimes I even wait a good 10 minutes before applying my sunscreen over the top of my moisturizer otherwise I just feel it makes a mess on my skin. Like the feeling of mixing instead of layering. Thanks 😊
I do that too! I apply my vitamin c that’s l-ascorbic and probably wait 20 min and then apply moisturizer and wait and then spf and wait before doing makeup. ( if I’m in a rush it’s just SPF I put on lol. But normally I do this all between breakfast and getting ready)It just kind of makes sense for everything to sink in and so nothing gets diluted you know? Also for me I use tret and a retinal on and off during the week so my skin is on the drier side… so doing that makes my makeup less patchy.
I tried the travel-sized cleanser from Cetaphil last summer, with the light blue cap. It wasn't the foaming one, though. I loved it, and thought it was comparable to the Cerave hydrating cleanser, but without a smell. The Cerave one doesn't leave me feeling stripped but I just couldn't get past the smell of that product. I need to get my hands on the big bottle of the Cetaphil!
for hyaluronic serums or products that contain hyaluronic acid since it best works on damp skin, do you recommend spraying the skin with water or hydrating mist first? if so how would you do that if you applied vitamin c first? would you just need to wait 10-15 for the vitamin c to absorb and then you could dampen the skin? I feel like in esthetics school and later in my career I've gotten so many mixed answers for how to layer stuff correctly and I want to make sure I give my pt's the best/right answer :)
Dear Dr. Ellis, I'm a new subscriber from Germany 🇩🇪 and I highly appreciate your channel! 😊 Thank you so much for all the great informative and reliable content! I'm suffering from rosacea but I'm on Soolantra which is helping me very much. I don't have a derm at this time as I am a medical doctor myself and therefore don't need a prescription here in Germany to get it. My skin is looking healthy again so I am very happy about that. I would very much like to start carefully introducing an over the counter retinol in my routine. Is it okay to use Soolantra in the same evening routine and how would you recommend layering? Soolantra or the retinol first? How much time between applying the products? Thanks so much in advance, warm regards from Berlin 😊
Welcome to the channel! Once someone’s skin is stable, you can layer ivermectin and retinol together. I Typically recommend applying prescriptions first and then layering any other skincare on top, and of course stopping and new additions to the routine if skin irritation occurs.
Oh what a treat!!! ❤ Also, goodness!! A year! Wow tule flies!!! Also, boring AF, omg girl I was dead laughing!!!! Blessing and much love to you and your Family!!!
Revolution BeautyCeramides Moisture Lotion, this moisturiser is a good alternative to the moisturiser you mentioned in the video and it's only about 10$
Thanks for the video! I’ve been trying skinceuticals products and ended with their tinted sunscreen after my short regimen, but it was balling/piling up despite washing my face and using toner… any recommendations?
Hello, this video was very helpful. I stopped using the Paula's choice bha when I found out I was pregnant. Is it ok to use again after pregnancy even though I plan on breast feeding?
Can I put vitamin C first and then an exfoliant? Or should I use the exfoliant first? I use the Cerave acne gel (AHA & BHA), and the Prequel Vitamin C. Thank you.
I have a few questions: 1.)How long should one wait between applying layers? Is it possible to apply the layers quickly without waiting for one minute in between? 2.) I noticed that you are using a vitamin C product and then the Medik8 peptide serum, which contains copper peptides (based on the ingredients list). I always believed that copper peptides should not be combined with vitamin C. Is this belief a myth?
Such a great video!! I’m curious if you were to include dermablading in this process, where would you add that? Or should you keep that as a separate routine all together?
Thank you for this video! If using a tinted moisturizer as a complexion product for light/medium coverage, would you apply that before the sunscreen like a moisturizer or after the sunscreen like a foundation? Also, what do you think of the 1/4 teaspoon recommendation for applying sunscreen? I didn't hear you mention the amount of sunscreen to use. Thank you!!
These videos are so helpful. I’ve added so many products to my skin care routine that I’m loosing track on how to layer and which goes first. Can you create a video on your night time routine. I have growth factor serum and I only use it at night but I’m not sure about the order in which I have to apply this product. Thank you in advance.
Loving your videos! One question. Is there a certain type of facial sunscreen that layers best over makeup if you end up having to reapply sunscreen later in the day? This is a continual problem I've been struggling with. The other day I went on a last minute walk with a friend in the afternoon, put an additional layer of sunscreen over makeup on in the car and when I got back and looked in the mirror my face was a weird streaky, pilling mess!
I love compacts for reapplication. I have the one from Anessa but other brands are starting to come out with them too. I think Westman Atelier has one maybe..
I use the Avene compact, but it is a bit emollient. It layers well over makeup BUT it's not the best for oily skin. You could also try the Colorscience SPF powder.
Thank you Dr. Sam!!! I did not know I can use BHA with vitamin C!!! Now I try to combine in one routine. Question, where in this routine would you add Snail Mucin Essence by Cosrx?? It’s consistency is not really watery or oily and I cannot figure out where to put it. If I use Tretinoin in the evening would I layer cosrx under or over it???
^Would luv if you did a spf vid of your fav mineral soda that are dewy and that work under makeup. Finding a mineral spf is so hard especially one that works under makeup and doesn’t pill. I don’t get much irritation for tret but it has turned my face dry in terms that when I wear makeup it can look patchy. Sometimes I want to give up on tret in my 20s but I know it’s beneficial in the long run and usually I take breaks from it in the summer time. But I miss when I could wear any foundation/tint in the past and it looked great
Thank you for this tutorial. I live in a hot country and my face is constantly sweating, literally wet through, does this negate all the skin care products that I applied earlier ? Also, as the face creams have 'sweat off', is my face getting damaged ? Any tips to stop my face from sweating ? Thank you
Not a dupe for your moisturizer but perhaps ? I have perioral dermatitis and rosacea too (and seb derm!) I absolutely love the malezia urea moisturizer, is a gel cream it doesn't break me out, it calms my skin, it's amazing amazing and I love it.
Hi!!! I have a question, I use vitamin C in the morning and retinol at night- I love the ordinary buffet copper peptides serum and would love to be able to add it in my routine but don't know how to. As far as I know copper peptides don't work with vitamin c / retinol. Any recommendations? Thank you for your amazing videos and educating us on skin health and product. Love from Barcelona!
You are such a teacher-dermatologist! Teaching is in your DNA.
I would love to see this with drugstore skincare. All that she used in this video is way more than I can afford

Moisturiser day & night:
Normally my moisturiser is from the blue line of Pyungkang Yul, the Nutrition Cream (day) or the Intense Repair Cream (night), which I now use together with their Essence Toner and the middle step is the Ceramidin Cream Mist by Dr.
Please do budget morning and night skincare routine.
Very informative, steps are clear and I love the fact that some of the things you experience right now with your skin are normal and very relatable. I personally have hormonal acne as well so the idea that even a dermatologist says it's normal makes me feel comfortable with my skin. You have earned a well-deserved subscription!🥰
I just discovered you this week when exploring Vitamin C serums and have already ordered 2 products you recommended! I appreciate you!
I'm just happy when I see that I'm doing things in the right order and using the correct products for my issues. I'm like a sports fan watching a game.
You literally just answered every question I have right now! Thanks so much. Perfect timing!
Such good advice. You hit all the markers on what products to use before and after one another. Feeling confident to try a routine change with my beauty treatment. Thank you sam
i'm obsessed about how gorgeous the sunscreen makes the skin glowy!!!!
to anybody who isn’t sure you can try using this as a guideline, use lightest to heaviest, water based to oil based.
This is one of the best videos I've seen. I've learned so much from your channel. Thank you for all you do!!
Oooh I'm going to try my PC BHA without the cotton pad. Why didn't I think of that before? It makes sense!
Thank you for this information! I am really enjoying your videos. I love your personality and how thorough you are!!!
Yes! I would love to know the answer to this aswell
Excellent video, answers my questions. Thank you! I pretty much follow this routine already, thinest to thickest.
Yes, I second this! I love copper peptides. Please Dr., add this to your queue of videos. Thank you! 😊
Doesn’t the medik8 have copper peptides?
Thank you for the order of sunscreen application.
Really appreciate your videos and your delivery of information, thank you!
Hi from the UK. That was very interesting and useful. Thank you 💕
Good morning.. Thank you so much for sharing..🤗
I am 61 years old and of course a sunbather when I was younger.
Recently found your videos and immediately subscribed - loving the info you're providing so far!
Sooo many products. Refreshing esp for a Derm
I just ordered 2 bottles of the Medik8 serum to use as part of my morning routine ❤❤😊 Thank you 😊 I used the link in the description box 🫶🏻
(Especially being rosacea / sensitive prone)
Where is the best area to do a patch test?
The Skin1004 Hyaluronic-Cica Water Fit Sun-Serum is my holy grail Korean sunscreen xD
Just amazing overall
Loved this routine! So incredibly helpful! Thank you!
Going to try your rec of the Alastin eye cream for my under eye bags - such a great rec!
I’d love to see a video of products that are safe to use while breastfeeding. I’ve notice dark spots appearing and it’s so frustrating 😩
Thanks for this informative skincare routine doctor..Well said!
This is 4 Sure Gonna b so Helpful Dr. SE🔥🔥🔥👍n Happy Wednesday😀….
Love your videos. Always learning so much
New fan here and I’ve been binge watching your very helpful videos the last few days! Thanks for sharing.
Question: you mentioned in your older videos that eye cream isn’t necessary or that it was a marketing strategy, I’m wondering if that has charged since you included that in your routine in this video? Wondering if I should start using eye cream as well…
Question 2: do you wear sunscreen even if you don’t go out? I’ve always been hesitant in putting on sunscreen because it feels sticky and feels like it is clogging my pores. Is it true that some sunscreen could clog pores?
The Paula's Choice Calm cleanser does not make my Rosacea skin red. In fact, it removes the redness. Amazing.
Thank you for another great video Dr. Sam. For deeper/tan skin tones what is the best to resolve acne marks or spots?
Dr Ellis, how do you feel the neocutis eye cream compares to the Allstin? Thank yu for your informative videos!!
Can you talk more about perioral dermatitis and what to use for it? A derm told me to use cortizone ointment but it just keeps coming back. Normal?
Hi Sam, thank you for the great content! Which primer do you recommend for dry, breakout prone skin? Also do you recommend mac skincare?
Not Dr Ellis but I have similar skin and love Youth Foria’s primer. 😊
Thank you! I use a dark spot corrector and a line eliminator. When do you suggest putting that on during the morning and evening skincare routine?
I’ve found that I can’t use L Ascorbic Acid or any chemical exfoliants with Retin-a. They’re both too strong for me and I see the most results with the Retin-a so that’s what I’m sticking with. I use a hydrating antioxidant or peptide serum in the AM under my sunscreen and only use moisturizer over my Retin-a and dark spot targeting leave on at night. I’ve been very happy with Agency and that’s where I get my Retin-a and dark spot formula.
Same, Vit C seems to irritate the skin and tretinoin is doing a better job of reducing hyperpigmentation
You can try an Azelaic Acid serum which can help with hyperpigmentation :)
@@mikevie94 Didnt work for me
@@mikevie94 thanks! That’s in my Dark Spot Formula from Agency.
I really like the Aquaphor sunscreen, lip balm but I will try the orange one thank you
Yay! I’m using the same facial cleanser! ☺️
Love this video!! Thank you
Do we have to wait long before applying the moisturizer/sunscreen after vitamin C serum or any kind of serum essence toner?
Costco has the best price for two huge 20 ounce bottles plus travel one.
for hyaluronic serums or products that contain hyaluronic acid since it best works on damp skin, do you recommend spraying the skin with water or hydrating mist first? if so how would you do that if you applied vitamin c first? would you just need to wait 10-15 for the vitamin c to absorb and then you could dampen the skin? I feel like in esthetics school and later in my career I've gotten so many mixed answers for how to layer stuff correctly and I want to make sure I give my pt's the best/right answer :)
Dear Dr. Ellis, I'm a new subscriber from Germany 🇩🇪 and I highly appreciate your channel! 😊
Thank you so much for all the great informative and reliable content!
Thank you so much for answering and the advise, highly appreciate it 🙏😃 @DrSamEllis
Oh what a treat!!! ❤
Also, goodness!! A year! Wow tule flies!!!
Also, boring AF, omg girl I was dead laughing!!!!
Blessing and much love to you and your Family!!!
Revolution BeautyCeramides Moisture Lotion, this moisturiser is a good alternative to the moisturiser you mentioned in the video and it's only about 10$
thank you so much, this video answered a lot of my questions ❤❤
Thanks for the video! I’ve been trying skinceuticals products and ended with their tinted sunscreen after my short regimen, but it was balling/piling up despite washing my face and using toner… any recommendations?
Love your skincare routine !! Any products that protect against Blue Light recommendations ?
I think foundation is the easiest way to go with this one.
Hello, this video was very helpful. I stopped using the Paula's choice bha when I found out I was pregnant. Is it ok to use again after pregnancy even though I plan on breast feeding?
Thank you for clarifying the steps. Just wondering where in the routine would you put in snail mucin since it is a little thicker ?
Can I put vitamin C first and then an exfoliant? Or should I use the exfoliant first? I use the Cerave acne gel (AHA & BHA), and the Prequel Vitamin C. Thank you.
Very helpful to see the process. Thank you.
I have a few questions:
1.)How long should one wait between applying layers? Is it possible to apply the layers quickly without waiting for one minute in between?
2.) I noticed that you are using a vitamin C product and then the Medik8 peptide serum, which contains copper peptides (based on the ingredients list). I always believed that copper peptides should not be combined with vitamin C. Is this belief a myth?
Such a great video!! I’m curious if you were to include dermablading in this process, where would you add that? Or should you keep that as a separate routine all together?
She has a video about this I just watched it!
Thank you!!
Mandy B: use a minimum of 1/4 tsp.
Great video and advice, would love to see if there is a brand out there that would cover all these products ... TIA
These videos are so helpful. I’ve added so many products to my skin care routine that I’m loosing track on how to layer and which goes first. Can you create a video on your night time routine. I have growth factor serum and I only use it at night but I’m not sure about the order in which I have to apply this product. Thank you in advance.
Check her video list. I believe she has a night time routine video. 🙂
You’re a God send ❤ also- can you do a video on PRP under eyes or vampire facials? 🙏🏼TY
Wrong channel for those 😮
Hello will you do video on the beat body soap, scrub, lotion, etc that will leave a smooth skin?
Thank you for the informative video!
Never tried Purito spf. Always on a hunt for good spf. Thank you
Loving your videos!
There are powders so easy yes style has the best for price and spf coverage there are also sprays I use both so easy , great coverage
Avene has a wonderful tinted compact. It is spf 50.
But I miss when I could wear any foundation/tint in the past and it looked great
Have you heard about the benefits of coconut oil on the face? I was wondering if I could use that as well and in which order to apply it?
And why would you want to use tha on your face?
how often do you use the paula’s choice toner? every day?
Thank you for this tutorial.
I live in a hot country and my face is constantly sweating, literally wet through, does this negate all the skin care products that I applied earlier ? Also, as the face creams have 'sweat off', is my face getting damaged ? Any tips to stop my face from sweating ? Thank you
Will cream/balm type makeup primers (or any kind of primer) break down sunscreen too since it's applied over it?
In winter times, I like using oil to help my skin, should I do serum, oil and then sunscreen??
Can you tell me the difference if any between the Natrium Azelaic topical acid 10%,
and the emulsion that you used in this video? Thank you
Hi, I'm wondering when I should put my wrinkle cream and my dark spot remover? Thanks 😊
