Sunscreen is important for Brown skin as well. Since the size of our melanocytes are bigger, we are more prone to hyperpigmentation which takes a lotttt of time to go away if you have brown skin. Also, certain chemicals in your facewash, mosturiser etc. may react with the uv rays and cause burns or allergic reactions on your skin. My maternal family is from uttarakhand but we live in the Delhi. My mom has better skin and looks younger than all of her sisters who live there as the uv rays of the sun are closer and are likely to cause more harm at high altitudes. This surely is a great example for me.

I am a skincare enthusiast person and i csn definitely say she's 200% right. You know if you want more knowledge about skincare specifically for skin of color family, do have a podcast with dr. Vanita Rattan.
Nope Dr. Vanita Rattan spreads a lot of misinformation regarding brown skin specific actives because tbh not a lot of peer-reviewed studies have been done on that particular skin tone (even for black people). So the claims she makes are rather hypothetical and she never discusses about the nuances to skincare. What is bad for her, is bad for everyone. I'm surprised she is a doctor with that kind of mentality, I thought medical professionals were supposed to be more subjective with their patient experience. Also she is not a dermatologist the funny thing about being a medical practitioner is that you can simply do an mbbs and call yourself an expert in skincare, still doesn't make you a derm (just giving an example)

@@hellogauravsinha3573 a) a lot of people even without a medical background run skincare clinics (ik, shocker!) b) it's all the more of a concern that she treats debilitating skincare conditions without having a degree in dermatology, showing how backwards access to healthcare can be c) I have watched her videos and it's extremely tragic that she mentions that some strong actives that I use on my skin with full caution are labelled as "bad ingredients" that irritate brown skin. I am a brown girl myself who does occasionally use glycolic acid and tretinoin for treating any skin texture and she is limiting access to ingredients like this to brown people who might potentially benefit from those ingredients and have seen no improvement from those ingredients that she technically approves (skincare is subjective and I've personally found my skin pretty much doesn't need a combination of actives of myriad of skincare products if I use tretinoin as instructed), hence limiting access to nuanced info on broad conclusions. Yes brown people are more likely to get irritated from glycolic acid, but it doesn't mean that every single brown person out there should be debarred from using it, that's why we always patch test as skincare can be so subjective and there's no point thrashing brands who are making options available to consumers on the basis of certain ingredients d) honey she doesn't do sponsored content because she literally has her own skincare line that she so conveniently sponsors on her RUclips channel, which btw has gotten a considerate amount of negative reviews e) writing a book means nthg, there are thousands of people who publish books without being experts in that field, if that's how people were elected by the American board of dermatology or any such body, then yikes! If it worked for you good for you. But a lot of her opinions are controversial and do not meet consensus amongst the rest of the medical and scientific community. Trust me her opinions are not facts due that lack of consensus from other derm RUclips channels I watch. I'm glad things worked out for u👍
I am having a combination skin. So i use a very health, homemade rice+rose water toner, a serum containing vitamin c and b3, a uv blue light protection oil, a spf suncream and a great moisturizer. Also i use vitamin e before bed. But since some parts of my face are oily, i highly dilute the vitamin e with aloevera gel and rose water. And trust me I am a teenager and yet i never get any acne or pimples. Rather my skin is super soft and bright. So what i want to say is that, it is great if you can consult a doctor. But if it is not possible, when it comes to you own helth, always always do an extensive research before buying any product and know about your body first. And also dont buy in large amounts. Rather buy the smallest and patch test before directly applying on your face. Also if you don't wash your face and Expholiat it regularly and you dont eat a healthy diet, these products wont help much. Also proper hydration is a very important part in getting good skin.
I was looking for a sunscreen that is high on SPF and could give me glow. Riceberry sunscreen by littlellextra fulfills the same. It's very easy to apply and smooth like a cream. It lasts about a month with daily use. I have extremely sensitive skin, and when I apply this, I do sometimes feel a little sting, but it's much less than other sunscreens I've tried. It could also be due to my facewash drying out my skin. Overall, this is a good sunscreen.
I've used the foxytale sunscreen in the past...but like you, I'm also now using riceberry sunscreen, which has SPF 50 and PA++++ infused with niacinamide. It doesn’t leave a whitecast, it’s not heavy, no oiliness after application... It's a holy grail for my oily skin.

I always see Ranveer’s hand in meditation mudra while talking to his guests may be he does it purposefully as it helps in concentration and bringing instant meditative sensation in self. Being a spiritual person myself i can somehow make out or may be i am wrong. And secondly your skin is glowing because of your views, thoughts, your spiritual way of living and definitely type of food you put into your system. You are a modern mystic i can say that 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
I think the reason behind the glow on Ranveer's face and body is that he is a spiritual person. As he doesn't you sunscreen and stuff like that so all the shine nd glow he has is God gifted. Spirituality gives us that glow nd good vibes .
you wont get major problems but by the time you grow old there will be malesma spots on ur cheeks and might get wrinkles sooner compared to one who applies sunscreen. if u spend most of ur time in harsh sun or live somewhere arould high UV zone like australia, chances of skin cancer is also high.
I never use sunscreen becoz I have never got any sunscreen which does not irritates my skin. Plus, I used plum vit c serum and ended up going to a skin specialist. 😅 it gave my skin allergy, irritation, redness. From then i never use actives.😊
Try to use serum which are fragnance free and also with out most research for example vitamin c is an antioxidant so it gets oxidised when it comes in contact with air since that the case if your are using vitamin c in dropper bottle most probably you are using an oxidised product which will do more harm than good 2nd of all you should always use serum in lower percentage first i.e 5% in case of vitamin c then if your skin get used to it than only you should proceed with higher percentage My recommendation Dr Seth ceramide and vitamin c cream it has 5% vitamin c and is also in pump packaging And than fomularx vitamin c serum which is 10% vitamin c thought it's not in pump packaging it's still in tin tube which doens't gets oxidised easily Conclusion - use any product on skin after out most reaserch if not then you will end up getting what you got
A doctor can recommend you a sunscreen that doesn't cause irritation. Don't rely on influencers please, their advice will totally ruin your skin. My doctor has given me a sunscreen that never breaks me out and I've had bad acne.
I don't do anything for my skin. Just wash with plain water after returning home from out. Blessed genetically. And my skin is quite good. I am in my 40s and my skin is better than many teenagers.
I have never used sun screen, soap... And l receive compliments on my skin😅 But I also don't go out a lot, nonetheless, sun screen is a hoax like the most beauty products. My go to skincare is balanced diet, coconut oil, and other natural oils.

We were always working under sun from centuries why suddenly the need for sunscreen came, The farmers hork hard under the sun in harsh sun 5 to 6 hours and are more healthy than us.
People are going crazy seeking perfection. My recommendation is genetic is 80% , eating and healthy habits like exercise good sleep is 15%, and rest these products are 2-3%. the only thing that works is sunscreen because sun damages skin makes them old faster. Rest dont put moisturizer and shit, it dampens your natural healthy bodies oil secretion and body will get confused. Also eat good and once a month fast for 4-5 days with 0 food and only water. That cleanses ur mind, body and energizes when u enter keto stage its a miracle for your body
0 food and only water will give me terrible migraine !! One shoe doesn’t fit all so pls don’t put things out like this loosely … she is trying to tell the same , one thing doesn’t work for all.
i thought it's all fake too, but it works. best for oily skin, oils r in control on nose nd forehead, very rare blackheads, otherwise due to oil i use to get it every week. skin feels softer , could be the effect of strict moisturizing everyday
For dark skin i don't think sunscreen is that important unless and until u r going outside for long that too need to walk under sun for more than 30 minutes. We have natural sunscreen in our skin i.e. melanin. Nature is not a joke and we humans are not master. Everything has a reason. Why south Indians have more dark skin than let's say north India particularly states above delhi. It's becoz south states are near to equater which receive more sunlight than north region. That's why they are dark skinned. And sun is natural source of vitamin D, so why opt for artifical tablets. I am not against them but why waste money on these products if u don't even need it. For example myself have dark skin or sawala rang. And i go outside in my house not for more than 30 min. Even when go to college only while walking to college which is 5 min journey, sun rays are there uske baad toh college buiding mein hi rehna hai. Toh ku use karna. Thats why I am saying if u really need sunscreen then only buy. Jaise doc ne bhi kha itna koi pharak nhi padega if u don't use sunscreen.
I mean sunscreens are a myth. Not at all required . In fact the farmer community is the healthiest in every country. Vit D is the real thing. Sunscreen has come just a few years back .
Do yoga and follow natural Lifestyle, then you don't need demonstrative counselling from dermatologist. I am sure this doctor has the capacity to create the fear in patients mind
Eat healthy exercise daily is the mantra for healthy body n mind n skin. Exercise Aisa karo ke paseena aaye then see the magic how yr skin glow that it
My mother and gand mother never used sunscreen they had a clear and wrinkle free skin.. and I fellow them I have no wrinkle and spot on my face only cleaning with Dove soap and Nivea moistures❤
IKR! People are so delusional. My mom hated using sunscreen and now she has really bad melasma. This kind of mentality can be so toxic for people facing issues and are gatekept from the right information. If only she was well informed about the benefits of applying sunscreen she would feel less insecure about her uniformity of complexion. Just because it worked for you doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. There are people who get cancer even if they follow the healthiest of habits and there are people who can smoke and drink all they want and would never have to be admitted to the hospital for the same cause. People get pregnant with healthy offsprings even if they are chainsmokers, does it change the fact that smoking should be actively discouraged during conception? THE ANSWER IS NO!

She even wrote a book named as skin revolution and again I want to mention that she is the only one skincare RUclipsr who never takes sponsorship.
So yeah I'd rather go through information on dozens of derm RUclips channels and follow where major scientific consensus lies for a particular ingredient.
Can you recommend products that you use..I'm also a teenager having combination skin😅

I never used sunscreen in my life. I am fairly light skinned and never got skin problems.
In fact I don't use anything except coconut oil.
I'm guessing by in my "life" you mean 20 years?😅 Wait till 40 to say such things. Even pigs look beautiful at 20 years of age.
@Twenty_ThirtyFive Hahaha, it's not your fault that you weren't taught figures of speech or have much abstract intelligence!😅
@Twenty_ThirtyFive Facts and research ain't though! (Talking about sunscreen use, just in case you didn't get it!)
you wont get major problems but by the time you grow old there will be malesma spots on ur cheeks and might get wrinkles sooner compared to one who applies sunscreen. if u spend most of ur time in harsh sun or live somewhere arould high UV zone like australia, chances of skin cancer is also high.
Just wait until u turn 40
Expression of host while listening to the doctor😂😂😂.. sorry i couldn't stop laughing 🤫😌😌hahaha
I never use sunscreen becoz I have never got any sunscreen which does not irritates my skin. Plus, I used plum vit c serum and ended up going to a skin specialist. 😅 it gave my skin allergy, irritation, redness. From then i never use actives.😊
I had the same problem until I found Aqalogica sunscreen.
Try to use serum which are fragnance free and also with out most research for example vitamin c is an antioxidant so it gets oxidised when it comes in contact with air since that the case if your are using vitamin c in dropper bottle most probably you are using an oxidised product which will do more harm than good 2nd of all you should always use serum in lower percentage first i.e 5% in case of vitamin c then if your skin get used to it than only you should proceed with higher percentage
My recommendation
Dr Seth ceramide and vitamin c cream it has 5% vitamin c and is also in pump packaging
And than fomularx vitamin c serum which is 10% vitamin c thought it's not in pump packaging it's still in tin tube which doens't gets oxidised easily
Conclusion - use any product on skin after out most reaserch if not then you will end up getting what you got
@@Tomahtoes10 thanks
@@jayateebhattacharya5999 thanks, i will also try aqalogica
A doctor can recommend you a sunscreen that doesn't cause irritation. Don't rely on influencers please, their advice will totally ruin your skin. My doctor has given me a sunscreen that never breaks me out and I've had bad acne.
Is the minimalist sunscreen good and safe to use???
All i can say to keep skin moist use coconut oil if possible take coconut oil in food, things will settle down by itself...!!.

I don't do anything for my skin. Just wash with plain water after returning home from out. Blessed genetically. And my skin is quite good. I am in my 40s and my skin is better than many teenagers.
My acnes are reduced a lot since I started using sunscreen and completely stopped applying any other creams😊...
Same! I still use actives for the occasional breakout, but sunscreen does prevent a lot of acne issues from relapsing
@3preethireddy ig minimalist's sunscreen is quite good
@3preethireddy currently I am using UVskrin sunscreen which was suggested by dermat.. Acne UV is also good.. Neutrogena SS was worst for my skin 🥲
Which sunscreen you use and your skin type?
@3preethireddyI had very sensitive skin ,but vlcc 30 spf sunscreen is too good
I have never used sun screen, soap... And l receive compliments on my skin😅
But I also don't go out a lot, nonetheless, sun screen is a hoax like the most beauty products. My go to skincare is balanced diet, coconut oil, and other natural oils.

Niacinamide is a big ingredient these days. Wonder if it works.
Used to reduce open pores
It helped me reduce my pores, I used 5% niacinamide for 4 months and have oily skin
i thought it's all fake too, but it works. best for oily skin, oils r in control on nose nd forehead, very rare blackheads, otherwise due to oil i use to get it every week. skin feels softer , could be the effect of strict moisturizing everyday
niacinamide with vitamin c works wonder
She is really a good doctor
