He is the greatest tailback to have ever played at OU. As far as pure talent goes he really might be the greatest tailback in NFL history. I was glad to have seen his entire college career as a season ticket holder at OU.
I’ve watch this video more times than I can count but I just wanted to come back and say shoutout to one of the OG Sooner RUclipsrs. I was in or around 8th grade when this came out I’m now 31. Thank you
adrian peterson has been freaking amazing in minnesota.....but i keep coming back here to watch this highlight video because it gives me the chilllssss......
I'm sorry but Adrian Peterson was the 2004 hiesmen winner. Only reason he did not get it was because he was freshmen and an OU player won it the year before.
SoonerMagicJ And how are we forgetting Herschel Walker? He was the 1st Heisman snub ever, just because he was a Freshman and they didn't give it to Freshman back in the 70's. It was a Senior only award.
OU has been blessed with so many talented athletes. I feel honored to have watched them perform at Owen Field. Many have left a lasting impression on me. Adrian is one of the latest to give back to a loving and loyal family. God bless him.
Palestine, TX baby ,,, saw dat boy mothers day weekend when i came home from college driven a 760 BMW do it big AD ... pullin for ya hope i come right behind ya ..got 3 more years thinkin bout stayin for my senior year ..
Hearing Fournette being mentioned in the same breath as Peterson. Fournette's a good back, but he's slower in pads and doesn't have the burst of speed, the acceleration or the explosiveness as Peterson has.
drake bone Where did you read/hear he ran a 4.3 in college? I know he ran a 4.4 at the NFL combine but only because he was still recovering from a shoulder injury and couldn't go all out. He has said before it is around the low 4.3s I believe him too.
Even though hes plenty powerful already..his determination and will to score every time he gets the ball is what makes him what he is...i think 36chambersmc36 said it best...no one has as much determinations in the nfl.
man i love this guy and im not even an OU fan, im a nebraska fan lol peterson is an amazing running back and doesnt gloat about his abilities, and hes my favorite player in the nfl right now.
my dad saw him in the army/navy all American game and told me...'this guy will be a phenom at any level he plays' sure enough. best RB in the NFL hands down...
I am 16 years old now and growing up a sooner fan I watched these OU games, but at the time I didnt realize I was watching one of the greatest running backs, players of all time
You will never find a better running back than Adrian Peterson. He works hard, never gives up, and fights for every inch he runs for. You can slow him down, try to contain him, and load the box all you want. But eventually, the beast will get lose. He will make you pay, one way or another.
I grew up watching Greg Pruitt, Billy Sims and Joe Washington. I never thought I would or could see a better back at OU ever again than either of those three. I was dead wrong.
beast and my all time favorite sooner i loved watching him play when he played for us from 2004-2006 it was awesome and my favorite player in the nfl he is the best
this video is brilliant! nice work km! those are some sick camera angles. and all day runs like he's possessed. can't wait for harvin to help loosen up those 8 man in the box fronts
I agree, Mcfadden is a great back and will make some Pro Bowls when he is in the league, but A.D. can be put in the same category as Dickerson, Sanders, Payton, Brown, Smith, and Dorsett...I don't think Mcfadden can be or will be. I do hope Mcfadden wins the Heisman.
one of the best all time college running backs that didn't win a championship or an heisman, he deserved it his freshman year, but voters are so reluctant to give it to freshman.
WOW!!! by half time he had 8 for l05 and a 67 yarder. His final stats. 20 Rushes for 224 yards and three tds. (From 73, 67, 35) Congrats to him for his first 200 yard game. And only five games into his career.
I've said it many times already and stand by it, Peterson is the best RB to enter the league since Steven Jackson. I think AD will be widely considered at top 5, top 8 at worst RB by the start of next year. His physical gifts and running instincts are absolutely incredible ^^^^^ yes huge mancrush I know
Should have been the 1st freshman to ever win the heisman to be honest, hes was unworldly his freshman year, one of the best years for any rb at any point in time in history freshman or senior
peterson is not only an untamable beast, but he is a smart runner. he gets the ball and finds loopholes. and if all else fails, he just hauls ass and shoves everybody outta the way.
WOOH! Thank you Oklahoma, from all of us Minnesota Vikings fans! We truly do appreciate this talented young RB and hope he stays here with us for a long, long time.
wow, to me thats a great thing about football 0:41 and he passes the corner and the roar of the crowrd instantly, inspiring! BTW to everyone who wants to know the song sits requim for a dream by clint marshall
Ian Johnson is a good back, but Peterson is on a whole different level. You have to remember he did most of this with defenses stacking 8 in the box trying to stop him. AD is SPECIAL.
I been watching this since 2007!! 11 years!
Me too bro
justin batt ..💯
I was 15 when I first saw this, now I'm 26, time flies lmao
watched this video 12 years ago when it first came out and it still gives me chills
Til this day

once you see that head gallop just know there is no stopping this man
Best back in my lifetime hands down just my opinion. He did more with less. Never had a qb. Only got farve when he was done
One of the OG videos. AP goat
Still my favorite AP vid on the internet
The video that started it all...
I've seen this video so many times but still can't help but be in awe. He really is special.
If this vid ever gets taken on youtube, I will cry
How did the Raiders pass on that back in 07?!? Al Davis loved tough guys and fast guys, he had both!!
Remember watching this before games my junior and senior year and would get the chills, that was back in 2009/2010….. miss that shit
adrian peterson has been freaking amazing in minnesota.....but i keep coming back here to watch this highlight video because it gives me the chilllssss......
I'm sorry but Adrian Peterson was the 2004 hiesmen winner. Only reason he did not get it was because he was freshmen and an OU player won it the year before.
***** I agree with you and +SoonerMagicJ 100%
SoonerMagicJ And how are we forgetting Herschel Walker? He was the 1st Heisman snub ever, just because he was a Freshman and they didn't give it to Freshman back in the 70's. It was a Senior only award.
the run at 2:19 is one of the best runs I've ever seen. You can't even IMAGINE a better run.
by far one of the greatest songs to have on the backround an AP video. He is the greatest RB of our time
2021 still watching wish you need more videos like this 🔥

not true fournette is quicker and faster then ap in college ap is more aggressive runner.
+drake bone Not true at all
Umm yes fournette runs a 4.3 40 as a freshmen ap ran a 4.5 or 4.4 what is you say its already been proven hes faster then peterson was in college
drake bone Where did you read/hear he ran a 4.3 in college? I know he ran a 4.4 at the NFL combine but only because he was still recovering from a shoulder injury and couldn't go all out. He has said before it is around the low 4.3s I believe him too.
So as a sophomore you telling me Peterson who at the time was 20 pounds lighter ran a 4.3.....noooo he did not but fournette does
I miss these times so much......
no matter how many times I see this it gives me shivers
Damn has it been this long already lol. I remember watching this in high school.
absolutely amazing. gonna miss him definitely
I love watching AD play! Wish we had another player like him come through OU but he is a once in 3 dacades type of player.
Even though hes plenty powerful already..his determination and will to score every time he gets the ball is what makes him what he is...i think 36chambersmc36 said it best...no one has as much determinations in the nfl.
man i love this guy and im not even an OU fan, im a nebraska fan lol

Yes, I am Vikings fan! I am avid of the Minnesota Vikings. I am getting excited of Adrian Peterson

I am 16 years old now and growing up a sooner fan I watched these OU games, but at the time I didnt realize I was watching one of the greatest running backs, players of all time
As a huge OU fan you know Adrian Peterson has to be one of my all time favorites, and he his my sons favorite running back.
still my favorite highlight clip I've seen last 5 years
You will never find a better running back than Adrian Peterson. He works hard, never gives up, and fights for every inch he runs for. You can slow him down, try to contain him, and load the box all you want. But eventually, the beast will get lose. He will make you pay, one way or another.
AD is the man when most people think of a RUNNING BACK. One of the most athletic human beings I’ve ever watched
good luck in the pro's ad!whatever team takes you, they will not regret it! thanks for all the wonderful memories at ou!
the cut back on that last run made me gasp. i can't believe i missed that live.
this is the best highlight of his college career
Awesome highlight video! definitely and inspiration to me and it keeps me motivated.
i really cant get enough of this vid
one of our damn best running backs in OU! He is making a career in NFL too! Been keeping an eye out on him in NFL as well!
I finally got this song! Great Video!
When I saw him freshman year i didnt think hed ever be on my team, but wow, its a good time to be a vikings fan
Man, I miss watching him play ! I just hope we get another superstar running back that can electrify crowds like him soon in Norman.
man i am gonna watch this before i work out for sure
I grew up watching Greg Pruitt, Billy Sims and Joe Washington. I never thought I would or could see a better back at OU ever again than either of those three. I was dead wrong.

The name of the song is requiem for a dream by clint mansell
2022, Best motivation vid. For me
This guy is a damn machine
This guy will be a legend. He didn't score against Detroit but is wasn't a lack of trying. They barely stopped him at the two.
its the track on 'requiem for a dream'
check the movie soundtrack you'll find it
I agree, Mcfadden is a great back and will make some Pro Bowls when he is in the league, but A.D. can be put in the same category as Dickerson, Sanders, Payton, Brown, Smith, and Dorsett...I don't think Mcfadden can be or will be. I do hope Mcfadden wins the Heisman.
the greatest when it is all said and done he will break the all time season record and career rushing record
this dude is fun to watch its like everytime he touches the ball hes going the distance
god i want this man back at ou, no one has a better mix of intelligence, speed, and power on the field
Mannnn😅😢😂 It's been a lo9999ng time.
That was actually Travis Wilson scoring the TD, but check out the block by Adrian on that play. That's why it is there.
Man I'm gonna miss him... I hope he's a pro bowler in his first year.
one of the best all time college running backs that didn't win a championship or an heisman, he deserved it his freshman year, but voters are so reluctant to give it to freshman.
i cant quit watching this video.. the crowd at 0:47 makes me smile!
Damn A.P is like a mix of power and speed, and freshness,
THIS IS THE GREATEST VID OF HALF BACKS
TBE! Hands down.
he looks so determined, its awesome
i am not even an OU fan and this gives me chills

Should have been the 1st freshman to ever win the heisman to be honest, hes was unworldly his freshman year, one of the best years for any rb at any point in time in history freshman or senior
Song is named Lux Aeterna for all of those who are wondering.
best AD tribute vid
i'm an sc fan, but peterson is one of my all time favorites to watch.
peterson is not only an untamable beast, but he is a smart runner. he gets the ball and finds loopholes. and if all else fails, he just hauls ass and shoves everybody outta the way.
whatever he is on a great team and he is gana do fine .....even better next year
WOOH! Thank you Oklahoma, from all of us Minnesota Vikings fans! We truly do appreciate this talented young RB and hope he stays here with us for a long, long time.
there's really nothing to say about Adrian Peterson, besides that he is, currently, undoubtedly, The Greatest.
i dream to be this guy i work so hard for this dream to make it a reality
the song is called requim for a dream
ADs touchdown on 40sec was the first touchdown in his nfl career
I need a jersey for Adrian Peterson! I love AD!
Those colors are gonna look really good on AP... orange and brown that is
wow, to me thats a great thing about football 0:41 and he passes the corner and the roar of the crowrd instantly, inspiring! BTW to everyone who wants to know the song sits requim for a dream by clint marshall
@HayDay28 - This is the instrumental version of "Throw it up" by Lil John.
its the theme from the movie 'requiem for a dream' by Clint Mansell
Ian Johnson is a good back, but Peterson is on a whole different level. You have to remember he did most of this with defenses stacking 8 in the box trying to stop him. AD is SPECIAL.
can anyone imagine how oklahoma would have been over the past 3 years without adrian peterson?
let me tell you people a world record OU holds they hold the record of longest winning streak in football HISTORY!
+MrBlueD3V1L yeah they do 49 game win streak
what an amazing player...his dad only got to see him play like 2 or 3 games at OU b/c he was in jail.
He is 1 of the top 10 rbs of all time
