What Does Pelvic Organ Prolapse Look Like?

- Опубликовано: 27 янв 2022
- Over 50% of women have some degree of organ prolapse and many don't even know it.
Prolapse occurs when the bladder, uterus and/or rectum shift out of their optimal anatomical position and bulge into or descend into the vagina.
Early stage prolapse can be asymptomatic. Common symptoms are low back pain, discomfort or pain with sex, difficulty emptying the bladder and bowels, constipation, feeling like something is 'in' the vagina, difficulty inserting a tampon or tampons getting pushed out, feelings of heaviness and like something is falling out.

I went to my Dr and told her I have a rectocelle. This was 3-4 years ago. She told me to do kegels! I saw a new Dr last week for my back. Mentioned this to her and she's referred me to a pelvic floor physio. I love newly qualified Dr's and nurses
I hope that this trend continues and that ALL doctors refer to pelvic floor physio. I also hope that all women know to go see a pelvic floor physio as the first line of defense for all things pelvic floor. Kegels can play a role ....especially when added into whole body movement. I also highly recommend Hypopressives. You can find both in my Buff Muff app www.vaginacoach.com/buffmuffapp You will also be part of a community of others who are working to prevent and overcome prolapse and incontinence and back pain and pelvic pain.
Why is it so hard to find real photos of prolapses? I’m 38 weeks pregnant and realizing now that I have bulges on the front and bag walls, but they’re not huge bulges and look more like clusters of tissue, not a ball of tissue. No matter what I Google, I can’t find real images
It could be the rugae...and not prolapse.
@@vaginacoach Any suggestions on who I could see could that? I live in a Southern state where women's healthcare isn't the greatest
@@michelleedwards7335 Google pelvic floor physical therapy and your city or the closest major city. You can also see a urogyencologist but I recommend pelvic floor physical therapy first.
I have been looking for it for a while can’t find either
100% agree. It's ridiculous. You can find all sorts of male se&ual organs and issues with them but not for women.
Thank you for this information
Thanks!
I am a virgin and i am not sure if my genitals look normal or what! But i do have that lump thing between there. I had it ever since i remember. Bt these days i have an annoying feeling like if i need to pee or if there is a pressure there. It does not go away at all. Could this be the cause?
It is hard to tell without seeing but it could depend. Do you get this feeling consistently or is it only once a day, week etc.
If bulge moves out while bearing down it's a Prolapse
I relate to you, I felt something since I was little and mentioned to my mum but she ignored it saying it's nothing. I just don't feel normal. I'm 19 and it's a bit scary and since the last two days is when I've been more concerned because I feel a sudden sharp stabbing pain that isn't persistent on the left side of my vaginal wall (or so it seems, but I wouldn't know without getting it checked)
Look up Levator Syndrome.
It’s the same case for me some people just naturally have a lower uterus so they’re more prone to developing a uterine prolapse. When you see a bulge slowly coming out and you feel a sort of pressure in your pelvic area that’s a telltale sign. How do you cope with it?
Still confused.
Thanks for the information is there any medication
No, medication will not fix a structural problem.
What’s the thingy at the top because that’s what I see
I’m not entirely sure if I have a prolapse or not, its just.. hanging out? I’m not sure, should I be worried??
What causes that thing to come out
I'm 74 years old and think I'm having a prolapse and just noticed it in the shower. I haven't seen my OBGYN since I moved to another state 5 years ago. Why would this happen?
Can the doctor push it back up or pull it out?
There are many contributing factors. You can ask your doctor about pessaries. You would also benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy. If you decide to opt for surgery let me know. I have a webinar to help prepare you.
I have a bulge down there I’ve never seen before like a ball how can I fix this it looks like a ball of flesh like light pink and white idk it’s weird and I hate it 😢I wanted to have a child and now this happens to me
I have this 😭 3 months postpartum with my 4th baby. Physical therapy helped the symptoms but not the visible bulge will that ever go away?
It is very common and you are still very early postpartum. Glad you are doing physical therapy. I highly recommend hypopressives. I reversed my uterine prolapse using this technique. You can find them in my prolapse program www.vaginacoach.com/kegel-mojo-prolapse
@@vaginacoach thank you so much 🙏💖 I’ll try the hypopressives! Love your videos thank you for what you do
Can someone talk about clitoral atrophy? What is it caused by. I’m 35. Had an ectopic pregnancy and feel like immediately my clitoris shrunk and vagina too 😢
You can inquire about vaginal Estrogen with your doctor
someone help me! im thirteen and its been alot of days since im feeling this type of thing.. and my vagina is passing gas constantly
I think im experiencing the same way. 6weeks postpartum now and i started to feel this heavy feeling inside my vagina (feels like small ball). Never tried yet to carry such heavy things because im afraid that heavy thing will come out because thats how i feel evrytime im carrying my baby for longer time, mostly if im standing. Is this how it feels maybe for prolapsed?
I recommend seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist, doing buff muff exercises and hypopressives. Prolapse is very common postpartum.
Hey I have a question because I’m self diagnosing, I’m not sure if this is what I have but I’ve had this red bump towards the bottom of my yk towards the anus, prolly the size of like a plastic bead or maybe smaller. It just completely red and it doesn’t hurt as much as it use to, it use to hurt by the touch but now it doesn’t hurt at all. But I’ve either had trouble using the bathroom or I use it too much. If you could help me that would be great.
It is out of my scope to diagnose. I recommend seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist and/or a urogynecologist.
Im really scared… im not sure if i have it, but i have a feeling my vagina changed a little and it seems to be more puffier (?) and im constantly constipated so prolapse has always been a fear i had. My bladder hurts a little and im scared to look at my vagina… i cant afford to get it checked.. are there any natural treatments for this?
Get a hand held mirror and put it in between your legs while your in the bathroom or shower. You'll need to check it. I don't know any natural treatments for you but you seriously should just check it.
Is it possible to remove the uterine totally if you have the symptoms of prolapse
yes that is called a hysterectomy but it is important to know that a hysterectomy increases the risk of organ prolapse, especially the posterior compartment (rectocele). I recommend hypopressives and pelvic floor physical therapy before considering surgery.
What is the Procedure to correct the perlapse? And does a prolapse feel.
there are many ways to help heal prolapse. The hypopressive technique is one of the most powerful. I have some videos on here and you can also learn how to do it in my buff muff community. www.vaginacoach.com/membership-challenge
I have this kind of bulge and it's painful is it because of using a mensural cup?
I've been using a diva cup for 15 years and have never experienced anything like that. Maybe that is the cause, but regardless, you should see your doctor.
I've used a menstrual cup since the late 90s. I would think the cup would help prevent it since it's a firm object inside your vagina.
I don’t know what it is when I open my legs wide I took a picture I saw a tears and rip pieces (hymen) sticking out of my vagina. So what’s it? I have urine urgency as well as 3 kids naturally
It could be a few things...I am not able to diagnose. I recommend seeing a Pelvic Floor physical therapist.
Can estrogen cream reduces symptoms of Prolapse?
Can estrogen cream be applied before intercouse & during periods?
Some people notice an improvement in Prolapse symptoms but not all. You don't apply it before intercourse. You can use it during periods but if your flow is heavy it may not be well absorbed.
@@vaginacoach it is the outside only?
Mine keeps going in and out, I think I have a stage one, but I keep feeling the bulge and then its gone
that is common with prolapse. I recommend pelvic PT, pelvic floor exercise and hypopressives
Do they always require surgery?
no they don't.
Hi! Is it necessary to operate the Frist stage of prolapse?
no not at all.
But my family doc suggested the same .can kegel exercise help me?
She also said that it can lead to cancer 😢 in rare cases,is it plz make video on that also .or else patient will die with tension only
I had partial abdominal hestroctomy one month ago and I feel some thing bulging from me 😢😢😢what should I do
I have this problem and I was wanting to know can you still get pregnant
yes you can. In really advanced cases of uterine prolapse (where the uterus is bulging out of the vagina) it can sometimes create a problem but it is still possible.
@@vaginacoach can it cause it to get worse if you get pregnant? I had a prolapse that just got diagnosed even though I noticed this since after my child birth (4 years ago) they told me it was really hard to tell. Since i took pics they were shocked how long it's been. Getting refuarld to an ob. Also can prolapse cause pressure around the rectum? I have hemorrhoids but way before my last pregnancy so wonder if it's connected with the prolapse.
@@vaginacoach Thank you so much I have been trying to get pregnant since September I can't afford really good insurance so The hospital where I go doesn't provide really good assistance with trying to get pregnant. I have asked them this question before but they never answer
I have put finger inside vegina and I feel something inside..... It is normal?
I’m feeling the same thing 😢n I got a cyst on my right ovary
Stage 5 is when the innards just fall into the toilet 🤣
So we can't have our periods?
you will still have periods with prolapse
Can a woman with prolapse get pregnant

is intercourse risky having prolapse.
No... intercourse is good for the pelvic floor...and other reasons.
@@vaginacoach thanks
Anyone cured rectocele plz give me some advice I have 8 months baby I am really upset
Rectocele is common and can be a bit trickier to manage in the advanced stages. Avoiding constipation, doing pelvic floor exercise and hypopressives are all useful tools. Buffmuffapp.com

I'm 1 1/2 postpartum I see a bulge and this is my first baby I haven't been to my doctor yet but is there any way to help it go away
It is very common to experience prolapse after childbirth. I recommend my core confidence exercise program (free in my Instagram bio @vaginacoach) and then hypopressives (you can learn those in my Buff Muff app) starting at 6 weeks. I also recommend booking in with a pelvic floor physical therapist.
