Following your channel just recently now and trying this standing away from the ball. Im older and have started lessons about 12 months ago. Now focusing on me not getting through the ball and early extension. My instructor has got me standing further back from the ball so that's giving me some encouragement. He has also had me try the step swing drill but that stuffed me up a bit. I'm 39 years old and have given up on trying to hit pga tour positions Really love this concepts
Something else I learned from Hal Sutton is the radical difference between swinging to HIT the ball, and swinging the club with NO ball in place He always says I wish I would’ve made half the swings I took on the range without a ball there! It’s crazy what happens when the hit mechanism kicks in. I would almost guarantee that if you video a swing without a golf ball, then a swing hitting the ball, the one without a golf ball in place will look so much closer to a Tour Pro action it’s unbelievable
Great video My only .02 would be that Will has absolutely ruined his back at only 24, there is a dangerous and fine line with lateral bends for sure. I have worked with Mike and he really correlates the footwork with a baseball swing, which he learned a lot from Nicklaus
Amazing work. I have been ringing the cathedral bells for ever. I think that the traditional set up was believed to produce more distance. Bryson says otherwise. I am going to get your book and give it a go. Thanks man.
If you go look at an actual slow motion film of Tony Finau you’ll see his first move on the downswing is to shift his weight to his left toes and then across outside of his left foot and doesn’t get back to the left heel until he’s way into the follow through. You can literally see the weight shift hit the front of his left foot.

Thanks - I think you will find lots of interesting ideas in the book as I did while writing it.

Isn’t the pro rotational movement also the reason most professionals A) have back problems
And B) have to constantly work out?
90% of guys who keep both their feet down are 6’1 over ck the stats
And the 10% who don’t keep both feet down still hit the ball better than you.
