You said it right Most kids. So the ones who do struggle with things like this like 9-14 year olds who still watch cartoons and don't feel seen. Why should it matter that more people get to be normalized. You can only be normal if you stick to the gender assigned to you at birth. "You can't tell a person's gender just by looking at them." Yes you can. As a matter of fact, people have been doing this since the dawn of Human Civilization. The only time you have any kind of difficulty in discerning someone's gender is when you encounter someone that is cartoonishly androgynous beyond belief. From my experience it tends to affect teenage and adolescent girls the most. The one's that religiously shopped at Hot Topic, buying all the My Chemical Romance, Avenge Sevenfold, Fallout Boy, Twenty-one Pilots merchandise, along with whatever other obscure whinny, effeminate band that passes today's standard for "Punk" Pair that aesthetic with daddy issues that lead them to become men-hating feminists . All of this lends to the astronomically high probability that these girls will identify somewhere else along the gender "spectrum" and advocate for the general SJW beliefs. Misogynistic/sexist/racist systemically oppressive institutions and industries that only support said ideals that are only beneficial to white heterosexual men. I'm BEYOND fed up with this extreme leftist liberal mindset that dominates every aspect of life now. Them trying to cram it down young impressionable children who are too young to even start going through puberty, let alone comprehend the implications and applications it has on society, is a gross mishandling of influence from people that should have NO power over others.
I dunno, I've seen people in Japan where it's genuinely hard to tell whether I'm looking at a boy or a girl. Luckily in Japanese you can actually drop pronouns, and many of the pronouns they do use are gender-neutral. Unfortunately, the headache comes once you try to translate into English...
I wholeheartedly agree. It kinda reminds me of a local construction commercial I saw years back. Dude was ragging on about how the Bible says something about building houses, and my dad says to the tv, "I don't care what your religion is! Just build me a damn house!" Same logic applies here. Just replace religion with pronouns.
It is possible to know the person's sex without removing the person's pants off. Males have a more noticeable throat bump (laryngeal prominence) than the females.
Speaking of "cartoonishly androgynous beyond belief", I am smart enough to know that the tall and round eyes are NOT female facial features. Cartoon boys, especially in anime, can have those. And "cute" never means "feminine" like wearing female clothes. "Cute" means attractive in an endearing way, look and personality wise. Adults, even in live-action, can be cute and look young despite their age. That is what these lowlife lunatics do not understand.
I'm sick of all this crap we have to deal with nowadays. If anyone says to me "Did you just assume my gender," my reply will be "Did you just assume I give a ****!"
Samurai Jack taught me quite a bit as a child. I've gone to rewatching it now and still there's some lessons in there that are pretty good for the heart. Usually they're Buddhist in nature which works well for me.

Steven Universe was never meant for children to begin with. Children need consistency and Steven Universe is one of the most inconsistent show I've watched 2 episodes of. The characters weren't even written the same was over those two episodes nevermind the animation errors because it's factory produced in South Korea. Steven Universe was always targetted at the woke liberal teen crowd. It's NOT a good show. Then pulling this shit makes it even worse in my eyes. Can't we just let kids be kids without trying to push adult ideologies like sexuality onto literal children?
I don't mind speaking respectfully to people, but I always stipulate that they earn it. Maybe that's just me or a part of my anxiety. If a stranger comes up to me and demands I address them a certain way, I'm going to leave because that is a very distressing thing to do. This feels like a new form of pier pressure and I never fell for that in my younger years anyway.
Is it just me, or does the pronoun comic feel like a case of “Here are the socially acceptable category boxes, get in one of them or get bullied”? For people that claim to be about not putting people in boxes, they sure are vocal if you don’t fit neatly into one of their categories. For instance: what would they think of tomboys who aren’t girly but still see themselves as female, or gentlemen who like art and fashion, yet still see themselves as decidedly male?
What do you mean. I was bullied for being a feminine boy in elementary school. I ended up having to be homeschooled. I later found out I’m a straight trans girl.

Animation is not an age demographic, nor a genre, it is a medium. A medium is an art form, a form of creation. Saying cartoons are for children and a genre is like calling a book a genre and for children. Art mediums are for many people of different age groups and both sexes.
Seeing animation as for kids is what keeps animation from its potential in the US and some Western countries. This is why it's cartoons here are for kids or adults. No teens (at least not anymore) and more groups within the demographic outside of preschool cartoons
@@Saltedroastedcaramel you do realize labels like “Adult cartoon” and “children’s cartoon” exists right? I just posted about this as a transperson and I can't find my comment now. I wonder if we're being censored.
Ze/zir are made-up. There is no "agender". You are a gender, unless you're a rock, and there are two genders. And intersex people and transpeople are also part of those two genders - we aren't some sort of alien-things.

and if you think gender is the word describing behavior/thinking, they still have either a male or female brain, and the one set of hormones are still dominant

Yes you can.

Speaking of "cartoonishly androgynous beyond belief", I am smart enough to know that the tall and round eyes are NOT female facial features. Cartoon boys, especially in anime, can have those.
