While I would pick this too, the Legion Go is literally half the price of this, the accessories do make up for the price difference, It goes into gaming laptop territory which makes little sense to me, the handhelds sweet spot is definitely under the $800 mark, add 2nd hand market and it's kind of absurd
It's not a direct comparison. You can get the 32GB/1TB version of this thing for $1k. That's with the keyboard, kickstand, controller connector, more ports, etc over the Legion Go. Yes, that wouldn't be worth it to many, but it's still more than reasonable for what you're getting.
@@JB-tp6ujbut I wouldn’t even use the keyboard so I will only b paying for the 32gb and the extra battery watts n so paying a extra $400-$500 just for that doesn’t make any sense to me
@@cedrickburns8097 It's not supposed to make sense for everyone. No handheld makes sense for everyone. The OP was trying to make a price comparison, and I was stating that it's not a direct comparison and unless you're getting a handheld second hand, the X1 is not $500 dollars more than a Legion Go.
It’s a 1,000. It does have 32 gigs of RAM & anyone who hasn’t seen 32 gigs of RAM in action is missing out, but it IS 1,000. The most useful thing about One X Player is that the software comes with a 1-press bottom to enable/disable AMD upscaling. Dealing w/ upscaling on these devices & accessing the menus in game that informs you the upscale is actually active can be exhausting. Primarily b/c almost all of them use portrait mode displays & AMD software is designed to work with landscape mode displays. The single press button just for instant activation of upscaling is a very useful tool.
It was really cool of you to feature a game by someone in your Discord. I love seeing indie stuff like that instead of Nintendo franchises. Good way to support good people, while also not making yourself a target for the big N.
While these mobile chips from AMD and Intel are getting more powerful, most AAA games will still only run at 40-80fps, making these 144hz and 120hz screens kind of unnecessary. Fortunately, driver-level framegen software like AFMF and Lossless Scaling are on the rise, which could allow these handheld PCs to play big AAA games up to 120/144hz, even on high settings. They could even allow you to save on battery (since you will technically be running games at lower frames, but you'll be seeing higher fps). I'd love to see you do a video on Lossless Scaling tried on handheld PCs like this and the ROG Ally X and Ayaneos!
Another banger video :) i got my first handheld in the mail today. Finally get to use what i learned in your vids to good use. Though rewatching ur vids are very enjoyable. have blessed day. going play my Zazbizzle lol
Good video! I do appreciate that this device is pretty much ready to go out of the box. I have a Steam Deck and had to spend a bit extra for a new SSD to add storage as well as needing to get my hands dirty performing the "surgery".
I miss the days when there were only two parties vying for my consumer dollars: it's Coke v. Pepsi, Burger King v. McDonalds, Sega v. "Company Who Shall Not Be Named." I'm an old man and the choice between all of these devices is making me cranky. And while we're at it, more than three teenagers standing together on a street corner shouldn't be allowed. Now everybody be quiet while I take a nap.
Personally for me im waiting for a solid Oden sized PC handheld before i ever consider switching away from my Steam Deck. The Deck is amazing, but its a bit too big for being comfy long term. Basically wanting a Steam Deck mini, which is likely a way off.
On a personal level i am waiting for cpu/battery tech to improve enough that I can play 15 watt level for 6 hours minimum. Otherwise just get a laptop, plug it in, and play with a bluetooth controller.
I'm with ya. Although I think it's more likely that we'll first get efficient APUs that'll allow us to game at lower wattages for 6h, rather than new battery tech.
I don't think Xbox is ever making a handheld, PlayStation seems like it's being weird right now, rumors about Nintendo's console only having 256gb of storage (also not a great lineup of games last gen), I think I officially given up on the perfect handheld being made by one of the big 3. So, for my end-all handheld I'm looking into something like this. 6 - 8-inch screen with detachable controllers. Probably going to get this or hopefully something thinner and lighter comes out. Just wish it came with a 4TB SSD so I could add the extra 2tb micro SD card and just have everything I could ever need on one device.
This thing looks like it's smaller than the Microsoft Surface Go which is the smaller version of the Microsoft Surface tablet. I was surprised when I found out how much bigger the surface go was versus the iPad mini since I thought those two would be a comparable size.
If it was $700-800 and could be purchased locally, I would go out and buy it without a 2nd thought. Really like you can get it with 32gb ram or higher. But it is almost $1200 for the 1TB model on Sale. Far too expensive. I Hope Legion 2 is announced soon and it has 32 GP ram and doesn’t go above $800
This thing right here is what I keep telling people is going to replace desktop computers. This little thing is almost good enough to do all the things my desktop does.
The answer to your first cereal question is Corn Pops. The answer to your 2nd is the Ally X because it can run Bazzite, but if you're sticking to windows I'd prefer the X1 Mini.

It seems like the Ryzen Z2 is coming out next year. At this point if someone already owns a legion Go, Ally, or Steam deck it doesnt seem worth buying something like this, especially at $1,100+ USD
