As a fashion design student it is very interesting to see how an illustrator thinks of fabric and decides to depict it
I also design and sew costumes, so I approach character designs that are supposed to only exist in a 2d space in a very different way. With these I can defy the laws of gravity and design in a way where I don't have to be practical. I don't get to be quite as free with my costume designs lol

Pluto is forever a planet in my 90s kid heart.
What an incredible journey through a bunch of hot -planets- -people- -planets! It's always delightful to see your work, but felt especially topical since my lady-wife is currently trying to design a magical girl character for an upcoming Pathfinder campaign. Happy 2023! Hope it's a wonderful year!

It works really well that one of plutos moons is called hydra and you went for multiple headed moons (obviously cerberus was the main inspiration but I like that’s it’s managed to link in with other multi headed beasts)

2) Neptune the sea of starlight
3) Pluto the forbidden child of wonders

you should of given Pluto a few dwarfs to represent the other dwarf planets
being a deity of the underworld isn’t (necessarily) evil! maybe Pluto was, uh. disqualified? bc death is viewed as negative by others (what if she lost the majority of devoted believers and could not be considered a god anymore huh) and her goal would be to restore her reputation, so to speak. also the color palette of these three is so pleasing to look at… i had a feeling they’d end up being my favorites and it definitely came true haha

Yes! That's why I wasn't sad when Pluto got demoted, because the other dwarf planets are so interesting! (Especially Ceres and Haumea)

Ohhhhhhhh my gosh the texturing!? TEACH ME YOUR WAYS!!! I'd really like to see different types of galaxies or black and white holes made into designs like sparkly swirling fabric for the milky way MMMMMM yes, please! All I could think when looking at Neptune was "Lizzo should wear this outfit..." Amazing Job!!! Can't wait to see what random objects you give personalities too next!

Your designs are always so aesthetically pleasing and literal eye candy and I could only _dream_ of having such a creative mind because.... wow. I've only seen like two other videos from you but your creations in this video paired with the the very interesting commentary going in depth on the motivations and inspirations of each design and a few cool facts about each planet convinced me I NEED to check out your other stuff. Your art style and work flow are both so eyecatching and I can only describe them as _insanely_ edible

Even though you may not have had it in mind when drawing Uranus's moons, but the fact that rabbits often represent the moon in much asian folklore. So, I just thought that was cute :D

I know it’s very very overdone, but I’d love to see your take on the Greek pantheon, or even some of the underappreciated deities like Thanatos and Zephyrus. There’s lots of material to work with, and I think the high fashion inspiration you usually draw from would definitely do them justice. Norse and Egyptian mythology is equally as interesting if you’re looking for something less tropey

The two-headed dog is called Orthrus, brother of the tree-headed Cerberus. All of the purposeful details you put in your designs are so impressive.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of Pluto being a young demigod born with little power that just envies the gods, and then she's taken in by them and they train her and teach her how strong her powers actually are, but because she has some unconventional ways of using like (like buggering off to put a blessing on a town that doesn't have any particular reason to have a blessing and making the rest of the world mad because "what about us?") she gets cast out, and she turns into someone who has so much hate for the gods because they tricked and betrayed her, and realizes she's so much more powerful because she doesn't restrict or confine her magic with rules, which means she can go completely off the wall in ways that they never could.
They all look so amazing!! Great job!

I am absolutely *in love* with Uranus and Pluto which is kind of surprising to me cause besides being alive when they revoked Pluto’s planetary status, I had no connection to these planets. Earth, Jupiter, and Mars are my other most liked designs !! Very excited to find out that Uranus is gender neutral and the way you portrayed them made me so happy. I’m a femme-leaning non-binary person and it’s just nice representation-
God, I've been loving these planet character design videos so much, they get me thinking about our solar system and generally our place in the universe, in both "Wow, the universe is so amazing and big" and "Wow, we know nothing beyond the scope of our own nose in the astronomical sense, for all we know, we could be the only "living" thing in the universe". I love everything you do, I could listen to you talk about anything for hours and nothing puts me in such a productive mood as your videos do. If all goes to plan, I'l be spending my first paycheck on one of these prints, Jupiter and Pluto have my heart 🤍
Edit, I really really like how you actually used the colors of the planets and relied on textures and silluette in the series, it's just look so natural and unified bc of course it is! I just wanna say that it *looks* like a breath of fresh air.

Right from the thumbnail, Pluto reminds me so much of Anna with the ice streaks on her brown hair, if by some twist of fate she got ice powers from/instead of Elsa. Pluto's personality lines up with my Anna head cannon pretty well too! A kind but lowkey angry young woman jaded by her circumstances.

You really could make these into a graphic novel or comic book,because the way evereey character eats in their own way is quite impressive…like even the more masculine planets eats!
Chiron is an asteroid, but has a lot of mythology and astrological backstory. He's the wounded healer. He'd be a fun one to draw 😊

Got an idea.
The dwarf planets are a minority, and our solar system planets are like celebrities. One of those planets takes a liking to Pluto (probably Neptune) and mentors her. Pluto becomes an advocate for dwarf planets with the platform accidentally given to her by a planet. It then gets taken from her, but its too late. Pluto is mad and so are all the other dwarf planets and some other planets. Pluto continues to fight.
think about it. It would make a great story.
How about the different types of stars? That could be a fun twist on this if you wanna do more.
This has already been done; it's called "Roman mythology" (and yes, it includes Pluto).
I love them! I especially love the little moon buns for Uranus and their swoopy shoulder part. The whole planet series is so gorgeous! If they were smaller prints i'd be tempted to get the whole set and put them in one of those collage style frames.

FUN FACT about Pluto's wolf companions! We all know and recognize Cerberus, the three-headed doggo, but there is in fact also a two-headed dog in greek mythology! His name is Orthrus and he was Cerberus' brother (until Heracles killed him, that is)
According to some, Orthrus was also the father of famous creatures such as the Sphinx and the Nemean Lion!
Tbh, I think Pluto gets taken in by everyone. The dwarf planets are glad to now be know as seen by plutos controversial move to their ranks and also what you mentioned about the "main" planets mentoring her

As a soon to be new graphic designer and a new to digital drawing artist I normally stick to paper pencil,marker, Cp (color pencil) or whatever you wanna use but I just can’t seem to find an art style. But I love to draw fantasy based characters that I make up on the spot so that’s what I see within your drawings, when you draw characters based of certain things it just speaks out to me and encourages me to pick up a sketch book and just draw whatever comes to mind. Anyways enough of my rambling, Superior video, the art is just so precious and you just can tell that it’s made from the heart. I may have just subscribed after watching a video of yours from 2 years ago but that doesn’t matter this is a channel I can tell will be an extraordinary addition to my life. ❤️❤️✨😁
