- New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates on how to make a Lumberjack breakfast. This breakfast has grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and hash browns. We also top it off with a tall glass of orange juice. This recipe serves about 2 people but can be served to feed more people by increasing the quantities of ingredients. Hope you all will give this delicious full breakfast a try.

Hello Everyone! As you all may know I am not perfect and we all make mistakes! If you want to add vanilla extract to the pancakes add 1 teaspoon. Also at the end of the video for the grits Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt instead of the 1 teaspoon of salt I said in the video! Thanks and I apologize for the mistakes!

The lumberjack breakfast looks wonderful but I have found that lumberjack breakfasts vary from region to region mainly based on what you have on hand. I am guessing and I may be wrong is that you are down south and can tell that because you are using grits and that makes sense. I am from Maine and where I grew up in the north, we use what we have on hand. Grits are for the most part non existent and beans are the common item we use is beans and depending on what we have, we will also throw an extra ham steak in too. I know when my mom use to make it for my dad, she had to use the family turkey platter to fit it all in plus another plate for the pancakes. Again what is special about the breakfast, and depending where you are too some may even call it a farmer's breakfast or a hunter's breakfast depending on where you are and what civic group runs it, is that it is for the most part truly American. The only thing that comes close a bit is the English breakfast but a word to the wise who have never had it before, you best be hungry or you traumatize yourself with the portions. I will give you something to try. If you want to splurge, try using real natural maple syrup, put it in a pan , add butter (amount add to taste to your liking)and if you like walnuts add those then heat everything until the butter is melted then then add to your pancakes on the plate. Don't worry if you do not eat all the syrup, it can be reheated for the next time and in time the walnuts will candy themselves. Again great job on the video and the breakfast.

OMG, this is perfection at it's best. Charlie I love all of you presentations, layouts and most of all your patience while speaking, your explainations are priceless. For the bacon 🥓 & sausage links, I didn’t know it was better to bake them instead of frying them on the stove. I just learned something new. And sprinkle some sugar on top of the grits. 😃
Yeah I wanted to bake them for a healthier presentation! I used to fry my bacon and sausage. Not anymore lol The sugar on the grits is also good! Absolutely!

Great meal. This would wake up the dead! Only thing, though, in my case I would take the eggs out before they get dry. Remember, things keep cooking because theyre hot. So Id take them out of the fire when theyre still wet and just stir them a bit longer but not enough for them to dry. They should be creamy. But thats just my taste. What really raised my hackles was putting that junk "syrup" on those luscious pancakes. Use ONLY maple syrup. Its the real thing and it tastes lovely. That stuff you put on them isnt real syrup. Its water and sugar and high fructose corn syrup and it tastes like what it is :water and sugar! Please throw that stuff in the garbage and get MAPLE syrup. Youll enjoy those big fat pancakes much more.
