Hyvää päivää Suomi! Greetings from a brother from neighbor Sweden. I love the simple, effective cooking, fried rice, beans fried eggs, stew and similar things. But your karjalanpiirakka, makkara, senappi (finish pirogis, sausage, mustard) is not bad either. I especially like that cucumber and mustard mix you have over there- :D
Exactly. Let me tell you about a Luxemburg restaurant, my girlfriend and I found. We had done a hike, got lost a bit, and when we got back to the car, we were hungry. First restaurant we saw, we pulled over. It was a bar, seventies look, it also had a fancy restaurant, but that was closed. Sunday. All we could get was a simple sallad. Never had such a great sallad based meal. Believe me, we saw slices of tomato, black beans, some bacon, some cucumber. And bread. Nothing special. But the combination was excellent, taste it and you won't believe it was that good! That female cook had done a miracle. She was Michelin levels and suddenly you know some cooks are great. They really are! Good vegetables, good spices, fresh fish, everything was good, and that can astonish you, never had such a great sallad before. Do remember that, and do go to a real expensive restaurant at least once, for I do hope you will get such a surprise, yourself. Like, huh, how did they do that? It was fantastic, it really was. Do you know that book called Blue Roads? The writer did a camper tour across the entire US, and he wrote about local food and local folks restaurants. Same idea, he often was hugely surprised by the simple but excellent food he got served. These restaurants are being killed by money-money-money-culture. So, whenever you get the chance to eat the oldfashioned way, well, switch on your entire IQ and do it. Before you are too late. Got the idea?

My sister lost her husband suddenly in October this year. Her grown daughters live out of state, and although she has lots of friends, she is now on her own. As kids we loved to help our Dad, a WWII Navy chef, cook at home. My sister sees me post some of Kent's recipes from time to time and she always wanted to try some on my cooking. Since her husband's passing, we've spent a lot more time with her, and she is up staying with us for the Holidays. She arrived last evening and this morning she awoke to the smell of coffee and this Mountain Man Casserole in the oven. Other relatives are here, and exactly what Kent talks about happened like magic. Yes, there were raves and OMG about the dish - seconds (and thirds) all around. But in between bites, there was talk and tears and laughs and hugs of memories of her late husband and Christmases past as kids when we helped our Dad with food too. Talk about HEALING. Kent Rollins HUGS all around the table. We lingered, finished the coffee, and cleaned that casserole dish totally. And stayed and talked forever. My Dad is a wizard with the dutch oven and this took my right back to being a little kid at the ranch sun-baked and sitting in Dad's lap while he cooked. Makes me all misty-eyed thinking about that man.
That's a hearty meal at ANY altitude! Up in the mountains, on the plains, working cattle, bringing in the crops at harvest time...or simply camping with family. I've made a variation of this over the years, though never with a poblano pepper...that needs to change. Bless you and the family, Cookie....catch ya at trails end.

Great videos Kent and Shannon. Upped my cooking with y’all. My wife says I’m a chef. I told her I’m just Cowboy cooking. True Americans you are. I guarantee!!!
This is my first kent video and I got so pulled into the whole old cowboy west feel that I physically reeled when he said Walmart and remembered that this guy lives in the same world I do. It’s just that he is enjoying it more than I am.
I love this guy! He's hilarious! I'm sure I'm not the only Canadian here :) I love this old school approach to life and living. Thanks for the all the wisdom and humor Kent.
When my kids were little thru early teens id make breakfast like this..it was always a hot homemade breakfast. I agree completely that a hot homemade breakfast does so much more for you physically and mentally over the cold, quick sugary garbage labeled breakfast. My kids loved it & so did us parents.
Thank you for this video 😭💞 I lost my uncle Joe and recently my grandpa Mike, both cowboys, and watching this is like having a little piece of them with me. Really comforting to watch.
Kent, I don't usually eat breakfast, but my wife does. Something about me being retired, and her still working, so it's all good (love being a "kept" man!) But she always wants me to buy that frozen potato hash browns. Thank you once again, I need to reduce the recipe to make it just for my wife and me this weekend, but cooking is forgiving when you have the basic concepts down! I even have a small cast iron skillet (but alas, no Bertha) that I can make it in. And it'll be on a stove. My dog might burn his feet if I built a fire in our back yard. Good dog, but not a lick of sense!
Watching this artist cook brings me back to when I was a kid camping with my family. Makes so much stuff nearly just like my dad. Camping was a vacation for my mom (and all of us). But my dad and I did all the cooking, cleaning, setup, tear-down. My favorite part was my dad's cooking. Both my parents are amazing cooks, my mother taking care of us all year round. But they cook so differently is was one of many wonderful memories.
Wednesday meal time with Kent and Shan (I keep yall on constant play while I clean my house😁). I also see Saturday morning breakfast for my husband and me. Yall have a good week and thank you for the video. My whole day perked up.
I can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would dislike this video? I love the recipes and the ones I’ve tried so far, have been delicious! This is going to be my go to breakfast for the family on Christmas morning!!!
Mmmmm im imagining a vacation in the great west, horse, canvas tent, the smell of a hearty breakfast, black coffee brewing on the campfire, listening to the chirps of birds, blowing of wind, watching clouds above the tall snowy mountains far far away in that moist cool morning air.
Well, I'm a work on a night shift in the UK at the moment on a shipping container port. It's windy so we've had to stop working til it calms down and the rain is coming sideways and upwards! I'm VERY hungry and now I've just watched this. This looks like the absolute perfect solution to cheer me right up a fill my guts for the night!
@@adham1200, tell you what. A good plate of huevos rancheros is hard to beat. Mexican breakfast plate: fried eggs covered in Mexican rancheros sauce, refried beans, cubed fried potatoes, bacon and flour tortillas. Cold beer is mandatory also in my opinion. Simple plate, but if done right, I’ll put it up against any other breakfast.

I always save bacon grease. My culinary Instructor called it white gold.. it keeps forever at room temp and can be blended with cooking oil for the best fish and chips.. used to make pie crust biscuits or anything you would use butter for
after watching this i went ahead and made my own version on my 15" cast iron skillet. eggs, cheddar, separately pre-baked tater tots, canned pinto beans, picante sauce, tortilla chips, beef sausage, onion, combined all, and baked it. pretty good, lasted me for a week worth of breakfast, and its yummy lol.
That looks really good brother. I just purchased 15 acres in TN, been saving for decades and I’m proud that I finally accomplished the goal. This will be the first meal I cook on the property when I start clearing it. Cheers 🍻
My pleasure sir. I wish I had known about you earlier. I live fairly close to Branson and I would’ve dropped in to watch you cook. Maybe the next time around 👍
I've done a lot of cooking in my life and roasted a lot of peppers. I also use leftover plastic shopping bags to steam the peppers in but I never thought to actually use the bag to help me take the skin off. Brilliant! Goes to show that no matter how much you have done something, somebody out there has done it a little bit differently and maybe, a little bit better. In anyways, it is different and that's what makes it fun for me.

Why can't America have a president like Kent Rollins? Maybe not Kent himself, but a good honest man like Kent that actually knows stuff and knows how regular folks live?
Media can’t have that. Too common sense
Kent wouldn't take the job if we offered it to him.
This country is in desperate need of a new party that cares about the people, and is funded by the people, not corporations.
Merchandise opportunity!!!!
I’ll take an Apron with his silhouette including Berta and the Chuck wagon!!!!
Kent Rollins for President
Shannon for Press Secretary

I may not have been born in the South, but that's where my heart is. Thank you for sharing the recipe 🤠
Our pleasure! and thank you for watching
Cool guy. A real cowboy. I tried this recipe in a pot in nature. All the friends were delighted. Greetings from Russia!!!
Kent you are so wholesome we need so many more like you in this world
Kent I think your videos are amazing. I've watched all of them. I want to thank you for the great ideas and appreciate the end of your videos where you thank all our military and love our flag. I'm a war veteran and this means the world to me. Thank you and God bless
Dear Brian,
Glad you made it back. Thank you for your service. ❤ ✌
Thanks for your service, @brianwest8834! Ex Virtute Dei Defendam!!
THE BEST COOKING SHOW ON RUclips!!!
One of my favorite things about Kent Rollins's videos besides his cooking and his easygoing manner is his dogs, especially The Beag. He is too cute.
I really love his personality and energetic attitude. Makes my day and my hunger when i watch his videos. God bless you sir! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thanks for watching Martin and God bless you
My Dad is a wizard with the dutch oven and this took my right back to being a little kid at the ranch sun-baked and sitting in Dad's lap while he cooked. Makes me all misty-eyed thinking about that man.
Thanks Jeffery and would have like to have cook with him
That's a hearty meal at ANY altitude! Up in the mountains, on the plains, working cattle, bringing in the crops at harvest time...or simply camping with family. I've made a variation of this over the years, though never with a poblano pepper...that needs to change. Bless you and the family, Cookie....catch ya at trails end.
God bless you and your family, Mr. Kent, it is a privilege to see you cooking.
And God bless you
Hello Kent! I just need to get this off my chest, so here it comes. You Sir, have brought to me and my belly so much joy with your videos and food that I could ask no more.. and for that I thank you. keep up the good spirit and great work... God bless both of you.
Laying in hospital, staying overnight, this has got me addicted to watching, cannot wait to get home & try some old school country cooking!
hell yeah brother, wish you get well soon too, take care.

Also craving that Mountain Man Breakfast!!! Just ordered the cookbook & I'm stoked!
God has really blessed us all with Kent and his wife. We love you both in Arkansas for sure. I hope you, your wife and the dogs have a wonderful day. God bless y'all. Amen.
Thanks Phillip and God bless you
This man is a godsend and a treasure! Sometimes I'm out in the brush and country for weeks at a time and his recipes are easy, filling and importantly nourishing! Some of them I've been able to cook and eat in rain, snow and all sorts. Watching these videos I always learn something. He's like the world's grandpa:)
This man should come calgary stampede with wagon set up shop for morning, dinner, supper for folks and cowboy.the style of work and expose old west just very good.😊
Oh my god this looks divine. Honestly mouthwatering. Imagine waking up, fresh coffee on the stove, dew on the ground, and eating that hot pile of goodness as the sun comes up. Hot damn.
All his cooking looks very yummy done in an old fashioned dutch oven , have one myself and they do cook a mean meal.
And it Don't get Any Better than THAT !!!
You call a mountain man recipe “divine” you better be prepared to get your ass kicked right off the mountain.
🇺🇸
Anyone else come to this channel for Kent's humor? (Recipes are great too) Just love your personality Kent!!!
Watching Kent makes me forget the world's burning for 15 minutes and boy what a blessing it is. So greatful
The world's burning? What world are you living in? Nothing is burning 🔥 😂🤣😆👍
I bought the ingredients. The family has no idea how good their Christmas morning is going to be! Thanks Kent!

Kent reminds me of my late grandfather Kenny, what an absolute gem of a man. I could watch this all day, it really brings joy to my great. Thank you.
I made this tonight for dinner. OMG, it was amazing! My housemate is a finicky eater but wow, he ate half of the pan by himself. My cast iron pans have found new use and life!
I see many more recipes I can't wait to try.
Thanks Cowboy Kent!

Wonderful meal ! Yessir, Kent. Take care of that little camera lady and her eyes. We like her.
Thank you, Shannon. I've never shopped quite like that either! Thank you again, Shannon for including a brief shot of the some of SW Okie's rolling grasshills with the rising sun. Gorgeous.
Thank you, Lord, for folks like the Rollins'. We need and appreciate 'em. God bless!
I feel like this kind of content is what so many people need right now. Especially those that have lost loved ones. I think my dad would love your videos. Might have to try this recipe sometime and think of him while i feed my loved ones.
i just made this for my husband and dad and they both loved it so much!!! amazing and delicious meal that fills your stomach and heart perfectly
Thanks Samantha
I love watching this channel as a German. Maybe it sounds stereotyping but for me it’s the most American thing combined - freedom + power + good attitude + nice sense of Humor 🙏
Hi from Syracuse NY brother and thank you for sharing your thoughts and your cooking adventures and your family
I remember my dad would make something along the lines of this when we would go off camping! I love my biscuits and gravy and I was waiting on some peppered gravy or country gravy to be added! Good lord am I hungry now! 🤣 Love y’all’s shows and enjoy watching em! May many more come! Thank you kindly!
This man has a sweet soul despite been unapologetic American, I'm not an American but the fact he takes his hat of for the flag and thanks the people who keep you guys safe gives me goosebumps every time. Mr. Rollins you sir are one of my favorite US citizen
“Despite” …???
Now this is what I call breakfast! Just how my Dad raised me! I sure miss him and his outdoor cooking!❤🙏 Thank you so much for sharing your delicious recipes!
Thank you for saving my life Kent Rollins.
Made me laugh 😂
If you do it on the stove cook it in the oven so you don't burn the bottom of it.
What a joy it is to See you! Thank you! And thank you for remembering our veterans!
May God Bless you
Watching this artist cook brings me back to when I was a kid camping with my family.
Good times for sure
Wednesday meal time with Kent and Shan (I keep yall on constant play while I clean my house😁). I also see Saturday morning breakfast for my husband and me.
Yall have a good week and thank you for the video. My whole day perked up.
I can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would dislike this video? I love the recipes and the ones I’ve tried so far, have been delicious! This is going to be my go to breakfast for the family on Christmas morning!!!

Because some people can't be bought, bullied or reasoned with. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
I still think all the dislikes are from keto-nutcases who don't really need keto, or all the nutritionists screaming about sodium and carbs. 😜🤣
I’ve heard about the classic English breakfasts. You don’t muck about at all! I hope I used that right. Ha Ha!

@@philstone3859 I'd say you're right! I would certainly use that phrase with some of the breakfasts I've had over the years!!
@@retroboy8696 yes mate.
I always learn something new from Kent. Every video the man is a master. I normally dont fall for that cowboy charm but again Kent is pure gold, authentic and charming without effort and again the master. Best cooking channel on RUclips hands down.

Heart warming message at the end. God, family, and friends/neighbors are most important
Just made this on a camping trip and it was amazing! Everyone loved it!
I always save bacon grease. My culinary Instructor called it white gold.. it keeps forever at room temp and can be blended with cooking oil for the best fish and chips.. used to make pie crust biscuits or anything you would use butter for
Thank you Kent and Shannon and the tasters. You are truly a blessing.
after watching this i went ahead and made my own version on my 15" cast iron skillet. eggs, cheddar, separately pre-baked tater tots, canned pinto beans, picante sauce, tortilla chips, beef sausage, onion, combined all, and baked it. pretty good, lasted me for a week worth of breakfast, and its yummy lol.
I bet the pinto beans and tater tots were amazing in it.
Sounds like a totally different recipe. But still sounds delicious!

My pleasure sir. I wish I had known about you earlier. I live fairly close to Branson and I would’ve dropped in to watch you cook. Maybe the next time around 👍
Yeah he awesome to watch, so uplifting, and living such an awesome simple Godly life!
This guy is amazing. A passion for cooking and down to earth, the entertainment is a bonus and a joy!
