You guys need to know that you can't tell the difference between the 0 to 2 and 2.8 ms delay its impossible, if this actually works and you are using bluetooth which is weirdly better than wired on the dualshock 4, doing this will likely not fix anything and you are experiencing input lag for a different reason. Please like this so more people see.
@Steve Fox definitely can, although I cant tell the difference between 100 to 120 and 120 to 144 so I usually keep my monitor at 100 hertz even though it has a max refresh rate of 144
i wouldnt say blue tooth is better than wired, and it is very easy to notice an 8ms difference when you have thousands of hours put into one game with a controller
@@gaminganecdotes6116 I know what you said, but I dont get why. The thing is, when you OC your ds4 controller you get 7ms less latency, combine that with a third party controller software and you get an extra 1ms. Also, your latency variation is significantly decreased with wired which is why wired is better over BT even if it has slightly higher latency
Most people say that 1-5 ms is basically unnoticeable but after 5 ms you may start to notice. I have confirmed this by using FL studio and a midi keyboard and pressing a note and feeling the delay.
Pin this if you will, I can say that I have used this on an XBone controller for Rocket League. one statement, this worked amazing for my friend, but for me it did not work as I can only assume my usb cord is not 1000hz, it came up with a error message when I went to filter on the device and I do not suggest accepting it as if you read it, it says it may cause the device to fail.

So I uninstalled it and installed it again. When I had installed it again and clicked "install services", nothing happened and my controller didn't connect with usb to the PC anymore... Even after uninstalling the program and deleting all files my controller didn't connect... Getting a cable that can actually take 1000 hz tick rate will solve every problem. After a little research found out not all micro usbs are equal. Some come with surge protection or w/e (the little cylinder on the wire). Cable diameter and cable design also affects it. Since I've got this wire I have been able to overclock it without a single hiccup for over 3 months. yes unfortunately increasing the poll rate to the max (1ms) is very very resource intensive, your system is struggling because the poll is too fast . The Dualshock 4 polls at 333mhz when utilized by ps4. you can try a faster rate but you shouldnt start at the fastest possible poll rate even if your system can handle it . Theres no decrease in latency on my DS4 that i can tell but my latency wasnt bad and usb is not the optimum interface . Its 5x faster on bt if correctly paired . P.S. The likelyhood of usb poll rate increasing performance on any controller not designed to run primarily from usb is not likely . Most modern controllers utilize a usb cable to sync and charge, while its possible for input to occur via usb, its not the default protocol . anytime u utilize a secondary relay for input it will cost u performance not gain u any .
I tried this with power a fusion controllers and it completely made it to where both controllers wouldn’t even work. Had to delete everything and delete the controller off of my computer to even get my controller to work again

When you just opened setup program, you have to instantly install driver for your Controller (Xbox, PS, or any others). Otherwise, all of you actions, that you've done before installing driver, will lead to red connection.
It's because the cable you are using isn't good enough. I ran into this issue too. Not all micro usb are equal. ZedLabz 3M charging cable for Sony PS4 controllers. This is the one I got and I've been having 1ms delay (according to DS4 Windows) with absolutely no hitches. But if you want a quick solution go into control panel> devices and printers> right click the controller and remove device. Then simply unplug and plug back in the controller. Will reverse the overclock meaning your wire will work with it. However overclocking it again will mean it will work for a limited time. Then it will jump up in delay and even the slightest movement will cause the issue to happen again.
@Anthony Ban Both actually. Or at least just the process in the video. I'll try to walk through it right now. First, you need to download the application called DS4 windows. This is used to monitor the controller so you can see the delay on the controller. (the aim is to get it at a 1 ms delay. Additionally this software lets you use the controller in games that don't support the Dualshock as it is not native to windows (like the xbox controller is). This can be done under the setting "hide DS4 Windows" in fact I had to do this in order to get Sekiro to work (My camera was spinning around and it registered no other input) Next download the driver listed in the description. This is the overclocking tool. So basically just follow what he does at 1:30. Finally you should test if it works. Play with the overclock for about an hour. If you are noticing any issues (like the controller disconnecting from nudging the wire, or better yet, you can view the log under DS4 windows as it shows you if the delay on the controller spikes too high you'll also be able to notice the delay too. If this happens then buying ZedLabz 3M charging cable for Sony PS4 controller will work. Hope this helps anyone get some crisp TikTok dubz for fortknighter idk what its called. sad to say that didn't work for me. Followed instructions got the controller set to 1000 successfully, but when I unplugged, and re-plugged in the controller, the Child name no longer appears and the entry (which now appears under "All" but not under "USB") is highlit in pink. It should be noted that I use a DB9 to USB adapter to use classic Atari controllers (real games only need a stick and one red button). In Windows settings-peripherals/printers the DB9 adapter still showed up as game controller, but if I went into into Parameters, no joystick is found to set up. Restored Windows to before the change, but the joystick attached to the adapter iremained unseen by windows until I remove the device in device manager, rebooted, and let windows find the adapter and reinstall the drivers. Joystick is once again seen. Oh well was worth a try. No harm no foul. Guess I have to live with the latency until I can get a decent native usb controller (that only has a stick and a single red button - unfortunately they are all easily broken chinese poop). (sorry if any of the my terms seem incorrect, I'm translating from a non-english windows installation and guesstimating what it would say under an english install.)

Rebooted and the tool shows 1000 but No for Filter so is this really working if the filter box is not checked?

(sorry if any of the my terms seem incorrect, I'm translating from a non-english windows installation and guesstimating what it would say under an english install.)
no sadly this doesnt work and after doing this my controller doesn't work
it shows red when i do this
Open the program (press show all devices) - You find your PS4 controller (bInterval is usually 5 for ps4) and then you press install services. After this, you set the filtering checkbox as checked and set the RATE to 1000. Reconnect the controller and here you go.
IF YOU WISH TO GO BACK - just change the rate to [default] and uncheck the checkbox and reconnect the controller. There you go, you are back to normal.
@@Spice-xs4ie it dont work

You need to extract all and don’t just run it from the zip folder. That fixed it for me
Hi friennd, apparently it solved it for me, I use a sn30 pro...I started having problems updating Windows, I tried everything...I changed the usb port on the adapter (5.0), updated FW, did repaired.... This solution seems to have worked
How do you check your current input lag for your controller on pc?
some settings in ds4
Doesn't seem to work with the Xbox Series X controller, causes it to stop working until I set it back to the default. rip for me
yeah same here is just makes it connect via bluetooth instead
Thank you for this very informative information.
I am wondering how you test or check the latency?
This kinda worked it improved it , still kinda stutters but not really any other suggestions bro? Thanks
For all y’all that don’t know turning off aim assist gives you less delay

Thanks buddy because of u i messed up my controller and it wouldnt connect but i had to uninstall my controller usb and intall it back to fix it DONT DO THIS IT WILL MESS UP UR CONTROLLER
In what way did it mess it up? More input lag?
@@theprodigy4260 no it stoped working on my pc and i had to mess around in my pc settings to fix it it scared the shit outa me but i fixed it after 2 hours of tryna fix it
you do this at your own risk. you searched for this method no the other way around.
is this permanent or do i have to do this again everytime i take the cable out
Permanent until you uninstall the drivers manually

This doesnt work. All it does is fucking up your computer, disallowing your controller to connect. Either you buy a new controller or perform a full reset on your PC.
Dude this worked perfect maybe you just had your own problems lmao
DUDE you helped me out so much man thanks it was so simple too!!!

change it back to default i guess
Thats a lot of info😂
Thank you for the video....just to confirm, once i do this to play on my PC...will i be able to use the same controller to play on my PS4 normally? or will there be connection issues?
I don’t even get it cause I have did it but is marked in red for no reason I got the 1000 rate and filter on device by where it says blnterval it dosent say 1 for my controller???

thanks a lot :). works on bluetooth too (by doing it on your bluetooth usb).
When i click install service nothing happens. Then when i try to click "filter on device" it says the filter driver service is not installed
you should hear a notification sound from windows if you click on install service if you dont it doesnt matter just change it to 1000
GUYS WARNING USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU SHOULD NEVER DOWNLOAD FILES FROM UNKNOWN WEBSITES AND ALSO DOWNLOADING FILES DOES NOT REDUCE ANY INPUT LAG PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS MAY GET YOU A VIRUS
Super helpful, thanks! Do these settings remain persistent at startup?
This still helped a year after it was posted! My game feels so much better now

@EErock Followed the instructions but get a warning message when checking the filter box. Windows can't verify digital signature. If I ignore it and proceed with the steps in the video then it does not see my controls at all until I uncheck the box. Rebooted and the tool shows 1000 but No for Filter so is this really working if the filter box is not checked?
same problem
Thank you for explaining this good last vid I saw about this same thing the guy did a terrible job explaining.
I had a controller that had/ still had no input lag on games but it’s not mine so I bought a brand new one. My new controller however has Input lag and I have no idea why.
I play rocket league (steam) if this helps at all
Im from rocketsciences' video on controller deadzone shapes. I've been using square deadzone for a bit now with Steam controller config but im noticing what feels like HUGE input delay compared to before. Is it just me or does steam big controller config support increase input lag?
I believe it does, but iirc rocket science mentioned that the delay was quite small 1-2 ms
bro, my laptop doesn't recognize my controller no more. lol
Thanks for this video! One question, would this feature continue to work if we have the controller connected through Bluetooth? Or connected at all times only?
Connected
why is mine red i still dont know the issue
So is mine
do i have to open it in the backround while playing?
