    I loved how Vax was able to "Evade" Thordaks fire breath since its a dex save.
    But Vorigal's ice breath is a con save, so rogue abilities do not apply
    ❤🔥

    Lance Reddick (voice of Thordak) has sadly died but it seems like he’s credited for two episodes in Season 3. I’m hoping they recorded all his audio before he died. He was such a great cast for that voice.

      They confirmed that he did complete his voice lines. They recorded the voice lines not long after season 2 aired

    I enjoy that despite being an enjoyable show for non-fans, there are still plenty of nods and references that hardcore critters can pick up. A few I noticed (going purely off my memory so they may not all be accurate):
    Grog calling himself Grand Poobah de mayonnaise is partially in reference to a totally-not-at-all-made-up title Percy gave him: Grand poobah de doink of all this-and-that. It’s also in reference to the alchemy jug he had in the stream and a somewhat iconic line about eating mayonnaise from it.
    The sun tree gives a mellow-sounding affirmation to Keyleth when she talks to it, a reference to the super chill voice Matt gave it when she would cast Speak With Plants in the stream.
    Less of a reference and more of a nice inclusion: I appreciate that they specify Raishan breaths poison as opposed to acid. I saw some react channels get confused during season 2 and think that her and Umbrasyl were the same dragon. It doesn’t help that she only appeared once in dragon form the whole season. I thought the distinction was clear, but I still like the moment they take to clarify.
    Apologies if I came across as rambling there, but I like geeking out and noticing all this stuff. I can’t wait to see what else this season has in store.

      i literally thought i heard Matt whispering "alright, alright, alright" in that Sun Tree scene, and immediately rewound and turned the volume all the way up to make sure i didn't hear wrong lmao. sure enough, it's exactly what i thought 😆

    These first 3 episode were straight fire. They squeezed so much into such a short time frame and it feels fine and not rushed at the same time.

    This show is a masterclass in pacing. They cram so much into a single episode, yet none of it feels rushed.

    All the changes they have made from the live show to the screen have been home runs, except for the do you spice scene. One of my favorite moments ever is not as funny as it could have been if they had Scankan approach the NPC and ask them if they spice. It total hits different.

    The only two vestiges left to bring up are Whisper, the dagger, and the Spire of the Conflux.
    Also, wasn’t the plate in the city of Brass on the plane of fire, it was Hotis the Rakshasa that they went to hell over? They did that with Tarry, cause they lost Doty in the prison there. Right?
    Based on the trailer stuff, it looks like they are bringing “Yenk” to battle Vorugal, who, in campaign had the Spire in their stomach. So Keyleth might get an alternative power up.

    • @W417on
      @W417on 2 часа назад

      Yeah this is correct, but I guess they're not going to do the Tarry arc? Though they definitely should have, just for the flash card scene alone

    A very cool detail in the vision of the death of Vox Machina is that Keyleth has a fully developed set of horns, which is how she was depicted to have when she tapped into her becoming an Archdruid.
    Keyleth *will* outlive everyone she has ever loved. If elves can live up to thousands of years, Archdruids live through generations. Keyleth being half-elf means that she will live for at least five or more millennias.

    You missed one while you were talking, in this video at least. If you haven't already, go back and rewatch the part where Keyleth talks to the Sun Tree just before teleporting back to their keep - and then *listen*. 😁👍

  • @seansilence2697
    @seansilence2697 День назад +1

    Yeah, level 20 druids age 1 year for every 10 years. So Keyleth, being a half elf, could live for more than 1,000 years

    I see I'm not the only one who thought the plate of the Dawnmartyr was in the hells. It was in the possession of a firegiant in the City of Brass in the fire plane, that Scanlan challenges to a game against and loses three times by uping the bet and loses himself and the rest of VM to servitude for the rest of their lives, but are asked to kill a rival of her to get the plate and their freedom back.
    We get the Hells association from the the fires in the fire plane and that they do encounter a pit fiend in the City of Brass trying to buy two Aasimar children.
    The hell arc is not until after the chroma enclave and when Scanlan runs off to An'Kharel to be with Kaylie since it's Tarry that they have with them in the Hells.

    i dont think they are gonna use whisper, or more exactly i think they combine it with Cabals Ruin (the Cloak), because in the episode it seems that she can teleport, which is what whisper can do, and it also has the redirection of energy of the original vestage. they did the same thing with the Deadwalker ward and the boots of hasting, and it make sense to balance the vestages and dont give OTHER one to Vax, just in the campaing a lot of people whine about Liam being to OP

    I love almost every changes made, but the evasion of Thordak of the fire plan doesn't fit with the chronology. Raishan said in this episode that she recruited the Chroma Conclave after Thordak was relaese. It's impossible because the blue dragon had infiltrated Emon years ago. If both are true that mean Pyrah was under attack for years.That obviously not true. I think they wanted to summerise visually the Chroma Conclave creation in one scene, but it doesn't make sence if you think about it.
    I have also a problem with Scanlan storyline in Ankarel. Scanlan will never leave the party to see his daughter, just before they try to steal a artefact of the divergence. It feel force for him to be not there. It's even worse in episode 2.

    • @zedbee2736
      @zedbee2736 День назад +1

      Yup, picked up on that immediately too. Unless, somehow, Thordak was still trapped in the fire plane for years even after gaining "godlike power", which just doesn't make sense.

    • @Birdthefeatheredone
      @Birdthefeatheredone День назад +1

      It could be that Raishan meeting Thordak and Thordak merging with the anchor could have separate events.
      Or, in this scenario, Brimscythe was already in the council doing his own thing.

    • @zedbee2736
      @zedbee2736 День назад

      @@Birdthefeatheredone It *could* have been, but the way Raishan says it implies that it was only after Thordak was joined with the gem and got unfathomable power that he started calling himself a king and demanding her to get followers for him. If that's not the case then it was very poorly communicated in the show.
