Indoril Nerevar honestly he’s a rip off of the antagonist from the movie “Deliver us from Evil”. No shade love this game soooo much, #2 was a let down compared to the first in my opinion. The detective is similar to Sab as well. Not sure if they’re related because the game came out 1 month after the movie but if you watch it the resemblance is nuts, never looked that deep tho.

The siren, the rain, the radio, no people... All that is because the whole first intro is not real. They are already connected to the machine and ruviks brain from the first second of game play. They think they're in real life but they're not.
But...how did they get there then in the first place? And why was Seb and Jo there too? They seem pretty irrelevant unless they were just more test subjects.
Been forever since I played but if I remember correctly, Sebastian was investigating his daughters death and wife's disappearance, which are both linked to Mobius. Mobius discover that Seb is close on the trail and notice that he is a capable detective, so they kidnap him and put him in STEM to kill Ruvik so that they can freely use STEM without it being a horror shit show. Joseph is Seb's partner so they probably put him in STEM also to assist and make the "dream" more believable for Seb. The DLC's later reveal that Seb's wife is a member of Mobius and it may have been her that picked Sebastian to be the one to kill Ruvik and organised his kidnapping.
they are all in there because Dr.Jemenze was building a wireless version of the STEM in Beacon that, by connecting to other wireless transmiters such as a radio in a police car, can affect people in limited radios around the main terminal (the one you wake up in Beacon at the end of the game)
You also find a "missing person" poster of Joseph, near the end of the game, which says that at the time of his disappearance he was looking for someone (which most likely meant Seb).

Your first like 6 sins fail to realize that in the opening scenes the 4 characters in the car are already in the STEM which is why there is no one there except for them. Everything seems out of place because they're all ready hooked up to the STEM and are being controlled.

As someone else in another video pointed out, EVERYTHING from the start of the game is in your head, which actually makes the city being empty kind of a cool thing as once you learn the truth it becomes kind of creepy. It also kind of sorts out a few time inconsistencies. It actually makes me think that the only reason you survive anything is because your just stubborn and are literally imagining ways out of a situation. So...it's like inception...

I feel like if the game does something that doesn't make sense until a piece of information is revealed later, it doesn't make it the game's fault that they aren't giving all of the information as to why certain events are happening in the way they are. This is because the horror genre relies on mystery to be scary (though in this game it's mostly the gore), and if a game or any piece of media for that matter doesn't explain something strange or that doesn't initially make sense in the pretense you see it under, it doesn't really make it a problem does it?
Doesn't mean it's not a shit explanation for a lack of funding lol.

I'm surprised that he didn't bring up how the very first playable area has 3 dead bodies that are the exact same. Same position, same character model, etc. That's just lazy. Especially for the first area of your game.

Huh, I really liked the Laura/Spider lady boss fight. I wish she didn't instantly kill you once she grabs you, but I didn't find her difficult. She was probably the creepiest boss in the main game for me, which sort of outweighed the negative of her being one big instakill mechanic.
I was surprised as fuck to see you didn't tax the retarded wolf boss fight (sentinel). That was actually such a bad and annoying fight. It had a slightly interesting gimmick with hiding behind bushes, but it would charge your shit and knock you down constantly.
I mean, the beginning of the game and Ruvik appearing in the real world is not directly explained, but it's beyond heavily implied as you progress the game.
**SPOILER**
At the beginning of the game, you're actually already connected with the STEM machine along with every other person appearing in the game. At 0:45 pay close attention to Kidman. Out of all 3, she is the one who is unaffected by the noise. That is because she works for an organisation called Mobius, which are the ones who hired the doctor and Ruvik to make the STEM machine. From this scene alone we can already deduce that they've already been connected to STEM.
There isn't any people on the streets because the people of Krimsom City aren't connected. I'm sure there was technical issues that contributed too, but it does 100% make sense story-wise at the very least.
Actually, the game makes a lot more sense once you realize that everything in it, including the drive up to the hospital, is part of the dream. The main characters came to the hospital, were knocked unconscious, and were hooked up to the machine before the game even started. The opening sequence is sort of a live-in recording of their last memories, before Ruvik became aware of their presence and started trying to kill them.

I don't claim to know this story well (because its written so poorly) but I can safely say I believe the moment the game begins you're already in the machine, there is no people in the city and they don't reference it outside of "they all must be dead" and Ruvik was able to kill those 3 policeman because they're not in the 'real world' at that point. Notice how the female detective doesn't flinch like everyone else when they hear the static over the radio, because she knows exactly whats going on and knows she is in Ruviks brain.
But I suppose trying to make sense of this mess of a game is giving it too much credit.
That's pretty much the only way you could conceivably explain the beginning. It still doesn't fill in all of the wholes and in fact creates new ones such as why would some police detectives be hooked up the STEM in the first place?
Dartigan They started kidnapping people and hooking them up to Ruvik's mind with the STEM machine. They mentioned that the people investigating the kidnappings also went missing which would explain why there were police alive in the beginning, since they were all hooked up to STEM when the game started. I believe it was mentioned at some point that all of the monsters encountered in the game were people trapped in Ruvik's mind.

If you read sebs journals they help you understand the story a little and why Seb is in STEM. At least TEW has a better story than destiny 😄

Most of these sins were invalid, Ruvik did t kills those cops in the real world for starters so that eliminates about 10 of your sins, towards the end of the game shortly before the final boss fight Sebastian became the host of the world, explaining why he was able to get so "Lucky" with the rpg and the pistol, I suggest playing the game before you judge it P.S Kidman is in the dlc

That seating arrangement looks more like the kind you would see in a public bus, rather than a school bus.
You continue to sin loading gates like that isn't intrinsic to a game, having to load the next section. If you're implying that the entire game map should be loaded up at once, you know that'd be shitting on anything less than god-tier computers to play modern games anymore, and the only other alternative is some sort of mini-game that fits the theme, which isn't always viable or even imaginable to create.

The only thing that deserves praise in this game is the tense ambient. The moment Sebastian starts destroying waves and more waves of enemies, you realize: "oh, it's just a gory RE4."

Half the sins in this are explained quite clearly! Ruvik could manifest outside the machine but not outside the asylum therefore he was looking for hosts to use so he can leave! Also, she didnt shoot you in the head, she shot Ruvik behind him.

How can he amazingly land on a car with a machine gun or how can a missile launcher land right beside him? Finally, how can it only take one shot to kill him? I'm going to clear up a few plot points for you. Note that I'm not saying they remove sins, because they actually replace current sins that you have in place already with newer ones:
1 - The headache at the beginning is the same type that the characters get throughout the game. That's because when the game starts, they are already inside of Ruvik's head, and they are NOT in the real world. This also explains why there was no one out on the street, and how Ruvik was able to kill the security guards. It's because it was already the "dream" world.
Also, at the end when Sebastian finally leaves the asylum and is greeted by the cops, he gets another headache, meaning he still isn't out yet.
2 - Ruvik is not all powerful in this world. Sure, he is able to consciously control it, but he isn't the only one who is changing things in it. The doctor does say at one point that everyone who is trapped inside of it is contributing to it subconsciously, which is why there are weapons, and why Sebastian is constantly warping back to the asylum.
3 - The reason the narrative is disjointed is because Sebastian is going through the warped memories of Ruvik. The memories are not in chronological order, and they are twisted and unreliable.
4 - The constantly shifting memories are also the reason why they keep warping from one location to the next.
Now that I've listed those things, I think it's pretty obvious which sins get replaces with new ones. For example, if the game already starts off in Ruvik's head, how come no one remembers getting there? How did they get taken there to begin with? Anyway, I just wanted to clear a few things up. It was a great video either way!
Good question. How did they get there to begin with? Most likely ruvik injected seb and that's how he got there. But in the other sin video its a sin because ruvik cant be a god in the outside world. It doesnt make sense.

If you have subtitles on, you see that the driver says, "I'd have waited, but..." which means if the world wasn't having a crazy earthquake, he'd have stayed behind, he didn't say he already waited.
Please actually do the video on Silent Hill 2. That is my all time favorite game and I genuinely believe it to be perfect. I would like to see if you can find some legitimate issues with it beyond just nit-picky stuff). This is of course assuming you actually understand the lore and don't just rant about how stuff doesn't make sense like most people do if they don't like the game. And you clearly can't use overused cliches and sins that were not overused at the time because it was around before most of this stuff became common-place.

1. Dartigan , did....did you just steal a joke form Markiplier?
2. People were expecting this to function with the scare factor like Outlast or Slender, these reviewers glazed over the fact that this is a love letter to RE4.
3. Journalists and Reviewers are still using the term "survival"-horror, not action-horror. I assume by that logic, Mario wanting to not die in the mushroom kingdom makes his games "survival-platform".
4. Reviewers treat this game like Marmite. They think its gods gift or hate it like its the sequel to Ride to Hell. Not really any grounded reviews, so good luck getting informed properly folks!
5. How do so many people miss the "its all in your head" plot to this game? or that Joseph is a figment of your imagination? The game is about a vague as it is obvious at many points.
6. Apparently in the day and age of P.T. and 5 Nights at Freddy's, we can have a game with horror themes anymore. It MUST have a shit ton of jump scares and slow paddind build-up of tension as well.
7. Many are complaining about movie visuals in games, especially with letter-box. Yet will turn around and bitch up a flame war the moment these are gone saying the "graphics aren't as good anymore". Can't eat cake nor even have it in the same fucking room.

I want very much to like this channel, but... this isn't right. The concept of sinning a game in and of itself is fine, but blatantly ripping off CinemaSins audio and visual style isn't cool. There are better ways to do this than by taking someone else's creativity and passing it off as your own. And it's a bummer because the parts of this that were authentically original are very good. I just wish you'd change the style up and make it your own.

It is a rip-off though. The CinemasSins team aren't doing it separately they're doing it together. They might have a lot of people working for them, but they still have a business. Sins Media is the name of the company that operates the CinemaSins channels.
That's why at the bottom of their website it says "Sins Media All Rights Reserved."
If this game only had a tuck and roll option like the PS3 tomb raider game, or at least a button command option for you to dodge certain attacks, it would have made the action and killing MUCH less tedious and way more fun!

there's one thing that bothers me about one of your "sins": when you said about the scene where Sebastian goes into a lot of blood, shouldn't you have said hemophobiacs (or however it's pronounced) instead of hemophiliac? Because -philic means you like or love something, while -phobic means you fear that thing.
Hemophiliac mean someone who suffers from hemophilia. It's not the same as the other categories of philiacs which are sexual fetishes.

I did to. It had some rough edges here and there but I had fun with it. Hopefully a sequel will get everything right next time and get closer to how good Resident Evil 4 was.
I don't think the bad taste chapter 11 and 12 left will ever leave me. Apart from them 2 chapters I love this game and look forward to the DLC, but please no more instant kills

Yea I think that's chapter 9, correct me if I'm wrong. I love and hate the mansion scnario it's fun but also a bit cheap at a couple times. When you leave the master bedroom after the brain puzzle he is waiting for you outside and you don't really have anywhere to hide because he will see you do it (I learnt my lesson the hard way in that room) but then a few chapters later you fight him and find out he is a pussy that is easier than any other boss in the game. The city part sucks because so many enemy's have guns and they NEVER miss, chapter 13 on the bus is just fucking terrible, if I have to ride that bus again in the Kidman dlc I'm going to throw my ps4 out of the window😡. Anyway keep up the good work I'm glad I found this channel.

In a genre where it's becomingly alarmingly acceptable to simply feature cheap jumpscares and explosions instead of any actual horror, Evil Within was a desperate need for the horror-survival IP.
You should really consider partnering with Cinema Sins as a spin off channel so it's out there and official.
Trust me, I have considered that a whole lot. The problem is Cinema Sins themselves has to consider that. I have no say in that matter. I've sent them tweets of my work so I'm sure they are aware. I'm not going to go begging them though. If they ever want to I would be happy to join up.

That ladder part isn't acctually one loading, you can just jump off the ladder, there is no fall damage in this game.

at 57 you need to take off that sin :P the reason why it didnt seem to make sense in the beginning is because they were allready in the machine and ruviks world from the very beginning of the game,,
