It is wonderful to find solutions for any problem I face on the RUclips platform. This is a very beautiful thing. Thank you, sir, the owner of the channel, for this wonderful video. Thank you.⚘⚘⚘⚘
I had opened up the third row seat from my 2002 Yukon XL and it wouldn't fold. Worked on it way too long. Used your technique and the problem was solved in 10 seconds. Thank You!
Since 2010 the seat is just folded and stuck ,you saved me in your trick where i just push a flat head screw driver and seat is back to normal where at least my kids can sit ,thanks for the tip
I had a problem where i thought it was the first solution except when i took it apart, the plastic holder was fine. I end up founding out that the hinge you push forward (opposite of the lever) was seized up and didnt want to move. What i did was drown it in WD40, grab a flathead and hit the backend with my palm and it became loose. I was able to fold down the chair. (This is only for the people who has problems similar to first one) other then that great video. Really helped my folding my chair down after 10 years lol.
Hi Pat. This is how it all started for me as well. It took a while to figure out the seat has to fold down before it comes out of the floor. But once I fixed the folding problem, I had to fix the floor latch problem. That seat was stuck on my floor for a year before I decided to dig into it.
When the seat is stuck in the upright position, I found it easier to look into the hinge from the front and manipulate the release lever with a screwdriver from the rear. Super helpful. Thanks a ton!
My plastic holders are fine. From inspection, it looks like the wire has stretched maybe 1/2 - 3/4" too long. any suggestions for that fix? All I Can think of is maybe to cut some wire and then crimp the two ends together. However, I don't know if a metal crimp would hold up.
I need help. The bracket on one seat is folded out, and I need it folded in. I tried pressing the "2" lever and pushing them in with my hand, then tried sitting on the seat and pushing them in, but it won't latch (seems like the right side is hitting) Any suggestions?
Have 2013 suburban passenger side third row I see where the cable is connected but it does not articulate like the one in your video. Looks like the cable is set up on it to pull it downward. Any ideas?
Hi, great video. Unfortunately I have a different issue! I have a passenger side 3rd row seat that won't unfold, fortunately, it's in my garage and not stuck in the truck. Any helpful hints?
I think it has to be latched into the floor of the vehicle before you can unfold it. If it won't unfold when it's installed in the vehicle, I usually find that the rear of the seat isn't fully latched. I lift the rear of the seat up and slam it down to make sure the rear is securely latched in.
One of my 3rd rool back seat from my tahoe is hard to remove it good thing they both can fold and one seat can get remove but the other seat doesnt lets me remove it after i fold it and i pull it..
I have a third row that is folded down, but won't fold open (only goes halfway). I have tried moving all the levers, pulling the handle, and opening and closing the floor latch mechanisms. Any ideas on how to make it fold open all the way?
same way lol its the stupid wire thats fucked up only thing that worked for me is literally pulling em apart hard asf the way i closed them or folded them was kicking it closed lol just sell em or throw em to the side of the street someone will probably want them
I'm also having this problem. 2011 Tahoe 3rd row seat will not stand up so I can let somebody sit in it. I pulled it out and moved it to my workbench and took the bottom of the pan off the cable seems to work fine as I'm watching the hinge travel but it will not unlock wherever it's grabbing to let me pull the seat in the upright position
I have a 2008 Yukon and the same issue but I think the lever mechanism is different. I located the end of the lever but I had to do it from the other side of the seat. I couldn’t find anything to pull up though. Any solution?
Hello Koorosh. The 2008 Yulon seats should be identical to this 2007 Tahoe. Which problem are you having? Are you not able to fold the seatback forward? (The first problem in the video.) If this is your problem, you need to work on the hinge (lever mechanism) that's the on OPPOSITE side of the lever that you pull up with your hand. The mechanism on the side with the hand lever is mechanically attached to the lever mechanism. So, it never breaks. The OPPOSITE side is moved by a cable, which often breaks. So, you need to find the mechanism on that side. So... if you're working on the right seat (U.S. passenger side) you need to find the mechanism in the left hinge, just like in the video. If you are working on the left seat (U.S. driver's side), you need to find the mechanism in the the right hinge. I hope that helps.
@@redneckoriental the mechanism inside was entirely seized up and the cable was completely loose if that makes sense. Had to break the casing and chisel it to move it. Ultimately it for the seat down.
How would I remove the seat on my Chevy tahoe, 3rd row the latch on the front are not even in where they go and the back ones are stuck, we've tried getting it out and nothing. Please help.
Starting at 2:15 in the video, you have to remove the screw, push down on the plastic, pull up on the fabric in order to be able to see it. If you're doing the driver's side seat, you'll do this on the left side of the seat bottom. That plastic has to be pried down pretty far in order to be able to see it.
This is a symptom of why GM will go bankrupt-again. Unreliable, needlessly complex shitty design. These rear seats are heavy as Fwck too, not a good thing for owners wives…

You rock! Thought I'd have to live with this seat stuck in the floor forever. Worked exactly as you described.

Thank you! Took me a few but got the seat out finally! So frustrating this, along with so many other issues in the Suburbans seem to be so common!
Glad you got it. I;m still a GM truck fan. But the more plastic they use, the worse they're going to get.

Thank you!!! Now how do I replace the cable ? Lol... Mine didn't fold, but everything else released fine.
Great video! But I still have a problem there is a cable that came off and I can't figure it out where its going , this the right seat.

I have the same issue. Did you find a solution?
Now I know what to do thanks to this video....
I had problem #1 but the lever was actually seized, took me a while to realize that and then i chiseled it 2 or 3 times. The seat came free instantly
thanks bro big help ❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌❤️❤️❤️👌

Where did you get that floor mat with the spaces for your back seats to sit on top of?
Very helpful!! Thank you!
Many of us owe you a beer.
I 'got the oposite problem. The one I'm trying to fix, won't *un*-fold.
Did you find a solution?
Same on my 2016
Same on my 09, you figure it out?
How do you open it after it’s been taken out ?
My Front latch/claw/foot when you remove the right 3rd row seat does not stay open. So its next to impossible to get back into place for use.
I have a third row that is folded down, but won't fold open (only goes halfway). I have tried moving all the levers, pulling the handle, and opening and closing the floor latch mechanisms. Any ideas on how to make it fold open all the way?
