Thank you Master Gelong Thubten! Your teachings have transformed the idea of meditation for me so that I can actually do ten minutes without dreading it now. I hardly meditated before, because it seemed so difficult and I felt like such a failure! I often wondered how other people were able to still there minds-- I never could! But you've made me understand that the exercise is simply (and gently) returning the mind back to its focus when it does wander, which it will, and there's no failure or judgment in doing so. In fact, that is the practice! It is definitely helping me to be happier.

I feel I’ve awoken to understand where in life I was going wrong just applying his teachings little by little breath by breath. Day by day. The world my thoughts. My depression loneliness have came to visit me less in a negative way. But more like old friends who I now understand far more today than the past. So thank you

I am grateful that I happened to view this video: Master Gelong Thubten has explained meditation in such a simple manner that it seems like smelling some fragrance.A meditative mind is what we need in this stressful times: mindfulness looks like universal religion , which has the ability to unite all menfolk irrespective of nationality, religion or any boundaries!

What a masterful teacher...not mystical, but adapting stories and examples so that his audience really understand for themselves, speaking at the audience's level, with things they can relate to and can practice easily. In his guide to happiness video, he also brought up crucial points that I've never heard taught before. A rare treasure.

Democracy, free press, freedom of speech, market economy and competition suppose constructive criticism and being judgmental. Otherwise, societies will be doomed to oppression and stagnation. As Dalai Lama says, when necessary, one must take measures but without feeling stressed about it. Here, Gelong Thubten’s teaching will come in handy.

Forgiveness is the message of the book PROOF OF ETERNITY by Alba Monn. It's about a mother who has a near-death-experience together with her child. In this near-death-experience, her child asks her to forgive the person who has abandoned both of them after a life-threatening accident!

Thank you for your explanation, Mr. Gelong Thubten. It is going to help me to remain mindful throughout the day not only during a meditation session. It is tough to remain mindful throughout the day because I tried it before, this time though, I am going to give it a shot and never quit it again.

A poem by the Zen monk, Ryokan:
I've never bothered about getting ahead
    But just gone leisurely along
    letting things take their way
In my bag are three measures of rice
A bundle of firewood sits by the hearth
Who cares about delusion and enlightenment?
What use is there in fame and fortune?
In my hut, I listen to the evening rain
And stretch my legs without a care in the world
A useful thought experiment: imagine yourself on your death bed. Do you really think all the stress you went through to achieve so and so, all that "busyness" of which you were proud will be significant then? What at this point would be most significant to you?

i've only recently started listening to this gentle monk , having had an interest in Buddhism and meditation since the early 1990's. He has a wonderful ability to articulate the wisdom he has experienced ..thank you G, Thubten.
May I ask anyone ...does he say the mind "wanders " or "wonders" ? sounds like the latter to me which is undoubtedly true but the former is more commonly used. Just curious .

    • @just_saidagain_said7018
      @just_saidagain_said7018 5 лет назад +1

He must be saying the mind wanders as we are often lost in thoughts.

    • @Tridib_Tinkel

Mind wanders , mind is too fast and we get lost in thoughts when mind wanders

Because he is talking about meditation. He was not there to talk about those other subjects, but I would be confident that he would do so if asked . Your comment reminds me of a scenario of listening to someone talking about mathematics and saying, why on earth are they not talking about literature. Don't get fooled into thinking that because he is not talking about those things in this particular video he is ignoring them.
