19:37: Gelong's steps to meditation practice
    1. Motivation/intention
    2. Feeling the body
    3. Main practice (Breathing)
    4. Feeling the Body (again)
    5. Review motivation: I've done this for my own benefit, but also for __________ (compassionate intention)

"I think if you are a meditator you see other people doing stuff that's unskillfull and you learn to be more compassionate and maybe understand that they're stressed, they're lost in confusion, they're lost in a kind of mindless state and that's why they do that stuff so maybe you become a little bit less judgemental and I'd say 90% of our suffering is because we judge others. Really, we suffer because we don't like what other people say or do but that's a crazy way to live it means we're a victim of everyone else if you can change that through forgiveness, compassion, tolerance. You free yourself."
Wow. The wisdom on this statement alone is just wow.

My alarm goes off 15 minutes before I have to get out of bed and I spend those 15 minutes in mindful gratitude and quieting my mind. I have been doing that for several months now and it has changed my life. My stress level has diminished, I react differently to insanity, and I love more. I am blessed to live close enough to the beach to go after work to watch a beautiful sunset, thanking my creator for all the blessings of the day and clearing all the chaos trying to sneak into my life. However, my true meditation is when I am looking through the lens of my camera or when I am sitting in front of a canvas. The focus takes me to another level of existence and fills my body with love and peace. I never thought of my art as a form of meditation until someone pointed out that others feel that peace, love and compassion whenever they see my art. My life pupose is to give that feeling to everyone around me.

Teresa Stubblefield I love these videos and the posts are always positive. Once you are at one with yourself you see a clear picture of life. I’ve changed as a person and say to people I just stopped giving a sh*t. They misunderstand because I still care about people and will always step in if I can. I have a full demanding stressful life as perceived by other people but my mindset is now relaxed and I never feel stressed. I love life and have a true understanding of the world I live in. Not giving a sh*t gives you an inner strength and understanding and will help you with compassion for your fellow beings. Love peace and blessings to you and all our awakened friends. 😌🙏🏻

What I have learned from meditation for the last 47 years is that mindfulness comes much easier when you play the observer of your mind. I taught that and it seems that students pick this up much easier using this method.

Respectfully, you are in a more 'chilled out' state because you are living off of your parasympathetic system (rest and digest system) instead of the sympathetic system (fight, flight or fright system). There is a physical answer for why meditation and compassion work. Thank you, Thubten, for your generosity and wisdom...

Yes, a great teacher indeed! I have been meditating (on and off I must admit) for several years. Letting thoughts pass is not difficult for me, but as a visual person, I often see images, and I'm trying to find a way to let images pass. At the moment I visualize a slide one uses to cover the Laptop camera, so the image is sort of blacked out...

The best form of meditation is to close the eyes and seem to be looking up till your eyes feel tired and you lose all your thoughts in a sleep-like situation. If it could continue for hours, you would feel like not talking and not doing anything till you feel your head flying up and about. The fear of losing your body connection could land some people into trouble. So, the best way is to have a teacher to help you go even deeper without fear. This is the lazy form of meditation. But the active form of meditation is to do something you like most till you are completely lost in your doing to the point that you are shocked to have been so many hours without realizing how the hours flew by.

    What the hell dude..
Quick story, and possibly a rant.
I been having stomach problems for a year or so now, got diagnosed with 2 ulcers pre-quarantine in Florida. Every morning I was throwing up and feeling extreme levwls of pain and nausea in my stomach, turns out i have a virus there too. Anyway, quarantine time hits and all I am doing is waking up at 6-8am every day because the pain or nausea, 3 hours would go by and for the first month or so. It was miserable, then I found out cannabis helps me with the nausea and pain while the meds didnt work. After the 3rd month I started wanted to better my mindset, went on natural hikes, night time trails, anything forest related and was just there...absorbing nature, life, myself, and it was a lovely experience which lead me to a form of self meditation half a year ago. I wanted to experience a better me. Lead me to a bunch of spiritual answers. Honestly im glad I got recomended this video. It literally told me that my reasons and the way I have discovered meditation it's pretty accurate.

A tech question: what shall I do to stay awake? I follow all the advice, still after 10-15 mins I fall asleep. :(
I can sometimes recognize the moment, but just can't stop it.
inb4: I don't have sleep problems, it's just the way meditation impacts me...
