  • In this amazing lecture, Vietnamese Buddhist Master Thich Nhat Hanh skillfully introduces us to Mindfulness / Tranquility Meditation. Thich Naht Hanh embodies these practices and is able to convey his Realization in this incredible Dharma talk. This is the best introduction to Buddhist meditation I have ever experienced and I highly recommend listening to it over and over. May all beings learn to calm their minds and be happy :)

I feel his loss palpably from time to time. I am a Vietnam veteran, strangely a linguist of North Vietnamese. I came home a pacifist finding 'home' in a Quaker meeting. It took a few years to find Thich Nhat Hanh. In the mean time we had sponsored Vietnamese boat people refugees in our home to begin. There I discovered Being Peace and the Miracle of Mindfulness. Forestry was my profession. Trees are a central part of my life as are wildflowers! Now we have lost Thay, he must bloom in many of us now. We need him desperately. Hoa Binh (peace).

Thank for this beautiful sharing of your life story, service to others and wishes for us all. 🙏🙏🙏 We love trees and flowers too and Thay's eloquent inclusion of these as metaphors in his teachings are beautiful thoughts to behold and guide.

11-3-2023 So grateful for That's beautiful, healing words and the gift of this teaching. Deeply grateful for the veteran's response also. I have PTSD from childhood experiences, and I sense that mindfulness is the door to being calm and aware, and it is always open. I am a retired teacher, 80 years breathing on earth, finally understanding how.

My husband was also a Vietnam Vet. He became a teacher because he saw what war does to children and wanted to do something to help change the world. He said it begins with the children. He taught in gang zones, teaching the forgotten and set aside children in USA. So, reading what you shared, touched me deeply. Thank you ☮️🕊️☮️

Every time I focus on my breath I feel him sitting next to me, telling me to let go of my preconceived notions about life. When I hug a tree I feel his presence in the tree.
I'm constantly reminded the people I miss who have transitioned to non physical are still around, living through me, seeing the world through my eyes.

I remember when Hanh "passed away" one of his disciples said..
I see the Master in everything, everytime I look at a tree, in every branch, in everything.
That is somone who understands Dharma.
You can feel their presence in their teaching.
    Never Gone.
    Blessed Continuation Day Lord Hanh.

Breathing with my Apple Watch seemed like a chore. After listening to your lecture I went to my back porch to look at the trees and grass. Then I took off my shoes to touch the earth again. I sat down in the cool grass and enjoyed breathing and thanking the trees for their shade and oxygen. I enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels come closer to me. Then my border collie stretched out next to me and taught me how to stretch, relax and enjoy the sky and clouds! I have not felt this happy and peaceful for a long time! Thank you for inviting me to touch the earth.

Here I am again… feeling this needed meditation. I just listened to The Bell Chant, as I do so often, and now, I’m listening to this again. How many times will I listen until I am dedicated with the conviction needed? I guess those efforts will never end. The path is ongoing. I am so thankful for the reminder of the journey in this teaching. PEACE. 🍃🌸🍃🌳🌲🌳🌲🌈🌈🌈🌧️🌨️🌤️🌩️🌈🌈🌈🌲🌳🌲🌳🍃🌸🍃

Comparison is the thief of joy.

Thich Nhat Hanh gave me so much hope under a period of hopefullness. I realised that i need to help others that suffer from stuff i did. That you dont need to suffer more than it is. Just to plant a seed in people. We love money, right? But our wellbeing is cruical, the most important.
