I am a diehard PSE guy. I have shot PSE bows for 35yrs. I was in the market for a 35-36in ATA bow to be my dedicated 3D bow. I had my heart set on a shootdown pro until i shot the Sequel 35 and it blew my mind. It holds perfect and is smooth as peanut butter. So I ordered one. It's at the shop right now being setup with new custom strings. Can't wait for this upcoming 3D season. Love your channel keep up the great content.
@@BackyardBows I just got the sequel 33 it's definitely a shooter even though I still think my spectra 32 with the E system is the best system on the market still.
Lol Brandon, you make me wanna buy every bow you shoot almost. Your intensity in your eyes differ the more you freestyle. I love your videos man, keep up the good work.
Same here, love my Consequence. I pick up my PSE with evolve cams and it is just yuck compared to the Dartons draw cycle, and the PSE doesn't really have a bad draw.
@@SlimPickins_07I don’t shoot PSE, but them evolve cams are pretty dang smooth. I shot that darton, it’s smooth, but way smoother than evolve cams is a stretch
@ShaneBolerHunting I'm not saying the evolve isn't smooth, but I own both and shoot them side by side, the only thing the PSE is better at is a stiffer back wall. It dumps into the valley harder and is stiffer up front, the darton is more linear throughout the entire draw.
I traded my Consequence for the Sequel 31 St2 on release day! Love this bow. I love this bow so much I went back the next day and ordered the Folds of Honor Sequel 35. I am having 70lb limbs coming for my Sequel 31 St2
I definitely agree with you on the Darton bows. I was just in a local archery shop yesterday. All the guys in the shop were telling me they all have gone with a Darton bow this year. I personally have always been a Bowtech guy. I shot a Darton at the shop along with a Bowtech and Hoyt. The Darton was the most impressive to me. I liked the way the Hoyt felt but it was definitely louder. Great review!
Bought the Sequel31 last year, great bow! Just received my Left hand Sequel 31 ST2 after ordering 3 weeks ago. Thats fast for left hand, loving me some Darton Archery fo sure. Still waiting on the 75% let off speed mod that may go on the Sequel since im shooting the ST2 with speed mods already. Great reviews brother. Know youre a Hoyt fan and their release looks awesome this year. Loving the reviews.
Will aftermarket string manufactures be able to make cables for that bow? I like the deadlock system on the Bowtech limbs are locked in and you just move the cams left or right!
8 for quality... Don't forget this is made with a better quality alumunum than most other manufacturers except prime maybe? 7075 vs 6061 in a lot of cases
There's actually pretty good opportunities for black bear. It just depends on what you want. Idaho and Montana has really good spot and stalk opportunities. If you want to go on an adventure go on a se Alaska boat hunt or canada. If you want to sit over bait close to home im sure theres lots of options. Btw 10# of draw weight is about 20 fps. So it should be in the mid 270's with a 500 grain arrow
I can’t believe with all the tuning technology they didn’t think of putting any pic mounts for all the sights and rests that are made for it to be streamlined.
@@BackyardBows That’s what I think as well. I noticed in your video that it showed an integration for a rest on the back of the riser, I couldn’t see it to well because your rest was covering what I thought looked like an integration point. Does it have that?
Strings and cables are no longer made in house, they have a custom builder making them. Also I’ve heard PSE had a limb tuning system like this once perhaps on their target bow. It could’ve been a Darton patent back then.
@@BackyardBows Im probably waiting for the Prime drop in a few weeks to make a decision. I'll be buying this year for sure, it will either be a Prime, Darton, or Elite.
Is there any chance you'd be willing to test out and review the Oneida Phoenix hybrid?? I hunt w/ a compound, but I love to target shoot with recurve. The Phoenix is a crossover hybrid that combines both. Very interesting looking bow. There are no good in depth reviews video on YT about. Tons of videos, but I need a "backyard bows" style review before I drop $1200 on it.
The 35 shot 334 at 350 grain and 70 lb on the podium review.....so I'm just gonna disregard that 6/10 on speed. Im gonna find one to shoot and if it feels as good as you guys say, I'm buying one.
You're not correct about Dartons patent situation. That was true for a while, but Darton was bought out, and all the patents were not included. There was a lawsuit about it going on right now.
@BackyardBows yea, according to the lawsuit (from my understanding I'm no lawyer) the guy who bought Darton (same guy owns black eagle arrows) thought he was buying some of dartons old patents, but the old owner of Darton didn't think it did. Who knows for sure, I guess the courts will decide.
@BackyardBows I'm sure some where and some weren't, i would bet that the ones related to the current bows were, but some of the older cam patents probably weren't. But again I'm no lawyer. And reading through it is difficult.
Buying my first bow in 20 years. Shot 5 bows so far. It was the Darton Sequel that I wanted to keep shooting.
You won't regret it

Had a Sequel 33 last year and ordered the Sequel 33 ST2 for 2025. Darton has a good thing going.
I love that you have finally started shooting darton bows i myself have been a darton fan since the late 80's and they have never disappointed.
This will be our 6th Darton reviewed and I think my favorite

Appreciate that man, passion comes across when I’m truly feeling it. Wait for the new prime and Mathew’s should drop in next couple weeks
Love the 60lb bow reviews, I've been shooting the same bow for 8yrs and I think Darton will be my next rig
I got a consequence and I couldn't be happier with the draw cycle and feel. Darton is killing it in my opinion.

Bowtech usually jumps around 10 feet per second when going from comfort to performance on all the bowtech bows I've seen it done on including my ss34.
I’m at like 6 , 8 tops
Got a tall 8 point yesterday with my sequel 33
Just shot it and put one on order yesterday.
On the 60# bow, if you tighten the limbs all the way down is it right at 60# or over/under
Wish I had more black bears we have a bunch but they’re so inconsistent I’d film you hammer one!

In the works
