It was going to cost me over $100.00 for ribbon spools online. Nope! This ended up being so amazing. I have a friend that showed me this same idea several years ago. I cut up cereal boxes for my “spools” and used the little hair rubber bands to hold the ribbon on. Then I used a 12 x 12 paper storage containers to put them all in. I also used the cereal box to make dividers between the rows of spools. It took two of those containers, but now they are all in one place. And like you they do not take up near the space! Really like those scissors. Will have to check them out. Thanks.

It is fantastic that you got the gutters off the wall ... the room looks so much better...😃 But, I used to store my ribbon this way and I found over time that it had bends where it was put over the cardboard... I don't know about you, but I don't iron my ribbon (too fussy for me) ... anyway, I opted for just rolling my ribbon around itself and taping the end, or putting a rubber band around it to secure... it is def still fiddely (sp?) ... but there are no bends or creases in the ribbon, which used to really bother me... just sayin ... I do love how compact your solution is tho! 😊
I know it will crease over time but I just couldn’t stand it on my wall any longer. It was driving me crazy. 😂😂😂 It is such an improvement. If I’m working on a project that the creases are noticeable then I might get out my mini cricut iron. But I mainly crease the ribbon when working with it most the time anyway for my side business. I really love your idea to keep the creases out! That’s fabulous! I still can’t believe I organized all that. 🤣 I’ll probably have nightmares about ribbon now. Lol 😆
Yes! Absolutely! I’m reorganizing a little this year. I got a new white cabinet with doors and a really neat wall cabinet coming in the mail for more organization. This is helping me so much. I was ink blending the other day and my kitty walked right through my ink. 😂😂

My husbànd bought me two 7 ft shelving units that a man was wanting to get rid of. He got a great deal on them so i was very happy about that. I have loaded them up w so much craft items I don't have room for any more. He also bought me a peg board that i use to hang all my new stuff on when i go to Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I could open my own store in my spare bedroom. LOL. HAPPY CRAFTING

Love this idea. Saw something similar years ago that I used for lace, fat quarters and fabric. It was amazing how much more space was created! Never thought to try it with my craft ribbons! I used comic book boards that comic collectors use for preserving their stash. They are acid free so no staining onto your materials. Very inexpensive as they come in packages just like cardstock.
I have to try this! Had my ribbons on curtain rods and shoe organizers ..took up tons of room, and of course I would take the rod down to get to something in the muddle, and then they are all over the pkace!

That is a neat idea! I was torn between this method or hanging them. Because I did not have the space for any more drawers. I really like the drawers you got at Hobby Lobby. I ended up opting to unspool ALL of my ribbon rolls. Every bit of it is hanging off of one heavy duty super strong hanger. I have a clear formal gown garment bag around all off the ribbon. When I need a piece ribbon I unzip the bag and run my hands across all of the glorious ribbons and pick one that matches what I need and snip it off (leaving the unused part still on the hanger.

Hello Julie.❤️ My ribbon storage goes up to 2 1/2” wide. For your size ribbon it might help to adjust the size of your cardboard spools. I’ve never had to store ribbon as wide as yours, so I’m not sure how well it works. Hugs, Missy 🤗🤗❤️❤️

It does make slight bends in the ribbon but not super badly creased. I can still use the ribbon on my projects and it looks great. What is the widest ribbon that you needed to store? Because I have ribbon that's 3 1/2" wide and I don't see this idea working.
