    I took your advice on using the plastic sleeves for my 12x12 paper. I love this hack! I keep kits together in the sleeves. That has been so helpful to keep all the bits and bobs together and neatly organized. Another hack that I do is to reuse the square plastic containers with lids when I buy nut snacks. They are so handy to store things in and they are square so they fit on shelves and in drawers nicely.

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  Год назад +7

      I am lucky to have my own space for sure. I think organization is pretty key, no matter how much space you have. And yes, if you have a smaller space of section of a room, you have to destash some of the "extra" product that is cluttering.

      I learned that from Jennifer on the channel "How to ADHD". The concept is "Point of Performance". Where do you perform what in the craft space? Store your inventory close to that point of performance. Since my living room/dining room has to serve as a craft room as well, I created a craft space from a sewing table which lives behind my comfy TV chair. Embroidery, knitting, crochting are done when I'm in that chair. So the needed items are stored very close by. Paper-crafting/cardmaking/water-coloring are done at that sewing-table. My paper cutter/scoring tool, die-cutting machine, laminator are stored on a four tier rack on casters. Easy to move around. Side note: I'm mobility impaired.
      I equipped that crafting table with an electric extension chord.
      Items I need to collect to start my crafting session will be in a catch-all container, a small tray.
      Carts are fantastic, I use one of them for my tools (scalpels, box-cutters, scissors, hole-punches, rulers etc) and clean-up items storage, another as storage of my machines (see above).
      How did I organize my many interests? As you may have guessed already, I have many interests. First, de-cluttering to create space. There is no way around it.
      Second, what are all your interests? You'll come across them as you de-clutter. Third, what are your topics on, say, card-making? Mine are birds, underwater-scenes, landscapes, winter/Christmas, Steampunk, trees and leaves. I subdivided my stamps, stencils, and cutting dies along those lines in clear bags with a velcro closure. Each bag has a sticker describing what's in it. Easy retrieval and stow away.
      Sounds as if I mastered organizing? No way near the truth. I'm currently struggling with ephemera.
      Nonetheless, I'm willing to start a conversation with you, if you like.
      TLDR!!!

    So the tension rods work inside closets and you can find those hooks at any hardware type store (for those not wanting to install screws). I love my peg boards, mine cover most of two walls in my craft room. I am loving the idea of how you added the shelves yourself and raised them up to stagger the heights! Thank you for these great ideas. The pot and pan holders would work great in my deep filing cabinet type drawer that I have. Instead of laying my papers flat, now I can sort them and see them with that holder. Brilliant. ❤Thank you😊
    P.S. Not to suck anyone into the coupon scams and don't download the ever bugging constantly sending notifications app, but temu has those stick on roller wheels at a good deal and they always have free shipping no min or max purchase. Thanks for sharing these great ideas. I particularly liked the first one about the small container to hold all the bits and pieces that would otherwise get lost on the desk somewhere, ask me how I know! Don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before but I’m definitely doing this from now on.

    I want a craft room like yours!!! LOL- I’m stuck in the back of a living room! I was wondering if you have good suggestion for storing Triblend alcohol markers? They don’t fit in marker trays.

    • @ScrappyWife
      @ScrappyWife  Год назад +1

      I haven't ever worked with those alcohol markers, but it seems like simple trays, as opposed to ones with more slots might work well since they don't fit the typical tray.

    Nice tips & your room is pretty! My craft room is a very small bedroom that I use for work & crafting. My husband helped me add shelving to the small closet & I removed the door, so I store a lot there. With such a small room, I definitely use vertical space with tall bookcases & mobile storage - I grouped similar supplies in 2 carts & a larger one for various Cricut supplies.

    • @ScrappyWife

    I have a 6" square glass container with dividers that my sister gave me for my large colored pencil collection. I've labeled the sections on the outside with clear Dymo labels. The best part is the 6" lazy susan underneath it that lets me spin it around on
    my desk to the section I need access to. I hope this idea will tickle someone's fancy!

    Catch all tray, check. Vertical file dividers, check. Peg board, check. I don't have a Criicut and I don't hang my stencils because so many are delicate and prone to warping, so no checks on those. Good ideas for those who are redoing their space.
    My best decision was buying 2 metal shoe racks at BJ's that fit on the back of my desk so I can get things UP off the surface but where I can grab them quickly. Also Totally Tiffany has great storage and organization pieces. It's my go to first.

    Just found 'you' by watching this video. I need a lot of help getting organized in my craft room, (well, in my house, but, we'll start here...lol) Hanging stencils is great, but I don't have many ... YET. But, I think I'll hang what I DO have. It'll get them up and out of the way. My favorite tip was using the pot lid holder for paper. What an idea! Now I just have to find some inexpensive ones - or something similar - to do that. I have a lot of paper. I bought some in bulk on the Marketplace, so I don't even know what all is in the bags that I got. Thanks for your suggestions. I subscribed, so I'll go through and see what other wisdom you've imparted. :)

    I feel smart... sort of. I figured out the towel bar, shower curtain rings on my own in the bathroom when I wanted to hang my stencils to dry after washing them off. However I did NOT extrapolate further and realize that it would be a brilliant way to store them in my craft room. Duh! (now where are those old towel bars/curtain rods I know I have somewhere?)

    So may I ask, did you cover your pegboard with contact paper (you said decoupage, or did you use scrapbook paper?, small pieces, with glue or modpodge?) and then have to poke all of the holes through? How much time did it take? It really shimmers! 💖✨️🌟

    • @ScrappyWife

I reuse plastic containers and look in charity shops for storage found an IKEA set of wooden drawers and little plastic drawers which I will use to organise my die cuts.
