I recently discovered that putting paperclips onto a binder ring keeps them from getting jumbled up and keeps them together by type and also ironically makes them easier to use,in spite of having to open the ring to get one off. I'll never store them in a jumbled heap again.. lol. I find they take up less space that way too. Hope that helps. Tfs

I love your idea for creating the separations for the tin. The only change I will make is that I will make the separators about an inch shorter than the tin. Everything will still be nicely separated, but a little bit easier to grab.

Great ideas, Donna. Your labels are great. I recently got the Joy Xtra to add to my Cricut Explore Air 2 & Maker 3 machines and love them all. I use adhesive vinyl scraps to make labels for my drawers, and use elastic hair ties as cable ties for all my cords, and store them in old plastic packaging I got donuts etc in. A toothpaste squeezer is perfect for getting every last drop of E6000, Super Glue Gel etc out the tubes. I use 1" circles cut on sticker paper to put on paint lids and colour that with the paint. I use old revolving spice jars for all my Glitter, Fake Snow etc. Empty Chewing Gum Containers are great for storing googly eyes [I have one on lid so I know what size goes in what tub when restocking] 2024 charms etc, and they don't take up a lot of space. Have a good and safe week. Hugs 🤗across the pond from Scotland, UK💕

Good ideas! I store my dies on they magnet sheets , I put them on separate cardboard then put them back to back ( not glued together) , rounding the corners makes them easier to get in and out of the small mesh zipped bags and number each side of the magnetic sheet with the dies on as in 1a 1b then have an die inventory book of white die cuts stuck on black card . I find it so easy to find a die 💜It works a treat

Some great tips. Ive been at this for quite some time. I started with my dies in binders like yours. Eventually they got too heavy, I was using 3" binders. I eventually moved them into magnetic storage cases. All but those that had matching stamp sets, those get stored with the stamp set. I use VHS and DVD (tall) cases for stamps. Those with matching dies, I glue a magnet in the case so they are together. Of all my storage I am happiest with my stamps.

Also helps if you cut a sliver off one side of the card, so it's not a squeeze. For my smaller dies, I have some old-fashioned flip-up style photo albums - like a giant credit card holder. Each pocket is 5x7", so I can sort the dies into very specific groupings, with paper (usually the back of junk mail) on which I outline the dies, cereal packet card behind the magnet, and space behind that for (one or two) die cuts. The albums have pockets on both sides, so I cut out the spine to make 2 units. I have also made trays for them, so I don't wear out the album back sliding them in and out of the shelves. Each one takes up about 2.5" height, the tray is 14" x 8". I luckily found a nice shelving unit for them!

Hi Donna, I just found your channel today and loved this video! It is taking me years to get my drum organized the way I want it! But I love a lot of the ideas you showed today! I saw you using the cricket joy extra with your phone. I’ve always wanted to get the cricket joy, but now I see this cricket, extra and see that you can use it with your phone, that’s awesome!! I’m just wondering if it’s really complicated to use?? I am a lot older and I am not really a computer girl. I have the scan and cut and love that and I still have the very first cricket. They came out with many many years ago in love that! Do you have a lot of videos on how to use this new cricket extra? Do you think you really need to have both the cricket joy and the cricket extra? I know the cricket joy can print out long words. But that’s about all I know about the joy. I would love your honest advice on your thoughts about these machines and if you think that they would be too complicating for an older woman like me?? Thank you so much!😊🩷👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Elizabeth. The Cricut Joy Xtra is newer to me. I'm still learning about it, but I am loving this machine. It can do so much more than the original Joy. I have both machines and prefer the Joy Xtra. It can print and cut, the original Joy can't. It can cut larger images as well.
You can use all the machines through the app on any device. I prefer to do most of the work on my computer, then switch to the app.
Both the Joy and Joy Xtra are wireless, so you'll need to connect via Bluetooth.
I think if you have a scan n' cut, you should be able to use the Joy xTra. I have never used a scan n' cut, so I don't know for sure!!
I don't have any beginner videos as of right now, but there are lots on RUclips.
      I hope this helps.
Please feel free to ask me any other questions. I will do my best to help you out 😉
Let me know what you decide.

    Hello,

I'm kind of curious about something I see this a lot in different organization videos and sometimes I wonder if it's just a little overkill and I'm not meaning to sound critical in any way for example the little pencil sharpener if you're putting all the items into the crate so to speak and you just have that in there lose wouldn't it be easier and quicker to not have to open another container in order to access it and if it's already in a crate then why would it get lost? For me organization for things to stay that way they need to be easy and practical for me to use if I'm having to take two to three steps just to sharpen a pencil most likely I'm not going to put that away just because when I'm in a crafting frenzy I'm not real disciplined like that I call it creative chaos so to speak anyway just some food for thought if it works for you great if you're concerned about it getting lost within the box then perhaps another small container like you did with the small crates but something even smaller like a little say portion cup or something like that that you just toss it in but yet leave a lid off of it But that way it stays contained within the area

Like you said, you know how you operate in your craft space. I now how I operate in mine, and having that little pencil sharpener in it's own little container is preventing me from loosing it in my craft space. I was tired of digging around for it and loosing it (I've had to buy new ones). It may seem odd to some, but it works for me 😉
