I learned something new about Indian Pipe… it’s actually not a mushroom and this whole time I thought it was! It’s actually in the Blueberry family 🙌
WOW that’s quite interesting 🧐
Yep it's a parasitic plant without chlorophyll.
I was going to say that but then I saw your comment. Curious what color is your indian pipe? We get the white and a rose color one
If you haven’t watched fungi on Netflix I highly recommend!
I am indian commercial beekeeper.
This is my dream. To go to a apothecary shop that has all this wisdom behind everything they make. I would go there talk to them and then we would come up with my very own tincture and whatever else would help get through. You will be hearing from this lady!
I feel better just from watching .
Yea my up dude top. (I was distracted typing) You guys got me tho. Champions
😂😂
As I am just starting up my herbal studies and building an apothecary on the Sunshine Coast of BC, I wanted to commend you for your videos, and lifestyle choices in general. This is one of the best videos I have seen. It was so helpful, inspiring and beautiful. Bravo ladies! Keep up the amazing work xx
Yes 👏 nice a natural 💗
I'm so glad more people are finding out about the magic of Lions Mane! I just wanted to let you know that the most medicinal properties are actually in the mycelium and not the fruiting body. Happy tincturing!
It looks like bread! Lol
@@morpro4u looks like the brain when removed from the cranium
Thats just what paul stamets says so he can get that bread 😂 indigenous cultures all over the world have historically used the fruiting bodies of mushrooms as medicine… makes sense cause u cant really see the mycelium unless you grow on substrate urself 😅
When I had my herb shop, I would tincture according to the phases of the moon and it actually made a difference in effectiveness. I love tincturing. You can make a difference in peoples lives.
How does tincture during the phase of the moon impact the effectiveness?
I just made my first two tinctures today. California poppy and echinacea from my garden. I'm really excited to see how they do, and to grow my tincture collection made from the herbs in my garden! Also will be infusing my calendula in olive oil for topicals.
Just started with your channel and it is nice to see a Mother-Daughter team.
I have been foraging quite a bit this year. I have several tinctures going. I struggle with details though and ... I haven't weighed stuff or done ratios. How badly have I screwed up?
I've got quite the corner collection happening. I walk the dog and I see things... I take my phone and snap a pic. Apple lets me swipe up on the pic, click the little leaf and it tells me what it is... or at least a best guess which is a great place for me to start. I find out if it has any properties that I want and then I get it. Do some more research when I get home and usually end up tincturing it or drying it... usually both. I look forward to this winter when the snow forces life to slow down and I have time to really dig into these herbal ally gems!
Thank you for your part in my journey... all the things you teach.... I have oats growing in my garden right now because of you! I hope it finishes in time. I remember you saying it would be ready in three to four weeks. I'm there right now and they don't look anywhere near ready. I'm hoping I haven't screwed up somehow.
I was thinking about going to Natural Pantry for some Lion's Mane, bringing it home for a tincture. I got to wondering about pesticides...
The apothecary is so amazing looking now. You all did a wonderful job.
Thanks for your videos. I love the momma-daughter union.
I don’t know why YT changed their algorithm, but I am excited that your coming across my feed. Excited to learn and implement for my family
I came across your channel recently. You two are a breath of fresh air. This has always been intimidating to me. We grow up with the industries telling us how reliable medicine is and how dangerous home remedies are. I’m finally over their scheme. I think I’ll dip my toe in the water and try a little something. I’ve had digestive issues as far back as I can remember. Medicine has never helped. I’ll start there.
Spring is upon us and I always tell my friends to start with dandelions because they are so abundant and you can use the entire plant! It can help you with digestive issues! There are many plants that can help with this that may be better but this is an easy one to find to get you sarted!
@@jenniferwinek4623 thanks for the tip. I’ll try it. Since I posted that I started drinking some herbal teas (plantain seems to make the most notable difference so far). I also started taking broccoli sprouts and all the edible greens I could gather in the garden… blending them… freezing the smoothie and taking a little every day. It’s actually helping a lot.
@@Car-jy8pw many thanks...I will tell my sis about the plantain tea!
Yall are amazing. Just found your channel this weekend. Plan on learning as much as possible.
Clarence Birdseye of Birdseye foods is the one that discovered flash freezing to a minimum of -40 deg. F. Would preserve many things in a lifelike state.
Hence Birdseye foods became the fresh frozen food giant for decades. :)
I love your family. Thank you for presenting well informed content on a hardly covered subject.
It's just beautiful what you guys are doing 👍 thanks
This is really encouraging. I have a space for an apothecary and I just need to start using it! Thanks for the inspiration! I’m so glad this came up on my feed

This is amazing! I wish I could learn in your kitchen. I’m starting to learn through your videos. Thank you!
Hi! My first time coming across your channel. I often wondered if tinctures were made like extracts are. Watching you and your mom make these was great.
David thanks for getting her to wear the shirt.
Beautiful edifying lesson on tinctures🤗
Thank you beautiful souls 💙

I have tinctures that I made here a couple of years ago I made one out of bee propolis and planting and golden rod I used 80 proof vodka. My wife is wanting to get into making tinctures. Hope you all have a great weekend.
Good ✌️🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
Very good 👋
I came across one of your bee keeping videos on Facebook I think it was a reel. And iv been following you on here for over a month and you have taught me so much and have lit a spark inside me, Inspiring me to study herbalism on my own and since then I have a 1 quart jar of dandelion root that I foraged from my very own back yard a long with some purple dead nettle and I have also made two batches of oil of oregano. I look forward to future videos and hopefully one day I'll have the pleasure of attending a workshop of yours or simply just a meet and greet would be amazing 😍 thank you for sharing all your wisdom and knowledge with us ! ❤
Wonderful I wish her farm was near me so I could go & visit, share in the wisdom & joy of lives well lived.
You were in my suggested videos! What a wonderful gift that was! I can’t wait to view more videos ❤️
Awww well welcome!!! We do a whole lot of random things on our Homestead 💛
WOW that is amazing.
That is funny about all the alcohol bottles. Your apothecary looks real nice. God Bless you.
I love seeing the difference between the freeze dried and dehydrated. I have had my harvest right for a couple months now and love it. I don't think wi will us my dehydrator much this next year. Be interesting to see what you do in the future.
🙌🏼 kidney stones here all the time. Please please tell me more about the corn silk. I am going to look more into this as well my books-
Wow. That was awesome!
Such a blessing to have all this knowledge, appreciate you sharing..new subscriber ❣️I am inspired thank u thank u
Very informative content, much respect ladies 💪
I have started using Tincture of propolis to coat my plastic frames instead of wax , the bees love it. I use canvas inner cover's and soak them overnight in pure grain alcohol and filter out the chunks. You can just spray it on the frames ,it goes on more evenly than wax.
Thank You so much
What a bee-u-tiful space!!! I'm so glad to have found your channel and have learned so much already from you! Cannot wait to watch more videos - thank you for sharing and love the matchy-matchy outfits! Totally get the "please don't judge me" comment for the copious empty bottles in the recycling! 😂
Hahaha
I appreciate your time and effort. Also you look pretty. I like how your hair looks.
So much fun! I love it when I spend a day tincturing or pressing out tinctures! So Satisfying and hopeful. When making some of your tinctures, you could put them in a blender. This would give more surface for the alcohol to extract from and will condense the herb so the menstruum will cover the herb easily. I do this with most of my tinctures and have found it makes a stronger medicine. Thanks for all you share! It's so fun to watch!
100 grams of ground herbs to 100 ml of alchohol will give you the strongest possible extraction per the old pharmaceutical manuals. We make ours that way in an open top dropping funnel and it produces a beautiful rich and strong extract concentrate. Diluted 1:9 the concentrate creates a full strength tincture comparable to what you get from the jar method. It will save you boatloads of time as most can be prepared this way and it only takes about 48 hours to complete instead of days or weeks. We use this method to produce bitters and pastillies.
I blend all mines too, it’s been so wonderful bc it’s saving me so much money on being able to spread my 151 vodka out longer !
@@MattCha90what is an “open drop funnel”?
Your sister as well .Love you all.
Lol she is a hoot
Wow you guys are amazing
I'm grateful to The Lord for finding this channel. I am so excited to learn about this new lifestyle

Just stepping into this world. I am in love 🥰
Beautiful work
This is so cool! Thank you
I hope to be able to have my own apothecary someday. I'm currently learning how to do all this now and taking notes and making my own skin and hair products for personal use as well. Thanks for this video! I have a book about tinctures and oils and herbs but I never really did anything with it. However, now that I am starting to learn these things but actually do them as well, I think I'll start going through it!
Awesome as always
It’s just what happens when you surround yourself in colors you love. 💕
Diving further into herbalism and thoroughly enjoying your channel! I found you through the #streamteam and love all your information!

Hilarious! I know the feeling of going into the liquor store and buying out the 151 vodka shelf it is quite embarrassing and funny to say the least! I love your Apothecary!
Oh how I’d love to come play with you guys and make some of natures healing magic!
I’m tincturing today as well ❤
we get a lot of looks from folks and cashiers when buying lots of everclear! lol
I'm actual watching this to get an idea of what you are making medicine with. and what may be worth my while to add to my medicine cabinet. thank you
Why did I sniff when you put the jar of ginseng up to the camera?!?! 😂
I would love to see a video going over all the books you all reference! I enjoy reading these books and would love better reference material.
This is very interesting. Indian pipe is good stuff. We learned about it in survival training. Really enjoying the videos. Thanks for sharing.
those mushrooms are huge. I'm hooked !
So cool!
I don’t know why I have never seen this RUclips channel before. I am so excited to have found you! I can’t wait to learn learn learn!!!!

Hello 🤗😃🐝🐝🐝👋
✌️🍯
Yes
🥰🥰🥰🥰
I really wish she would let her mom talk more and stop talking over her mom. Her mom’s not gonna always be here so she can always have these memories and I love to hear information from the old school because they don’t do it like we do.😅
The lions mane is gorgeous !
Lol. Corn silks!!! We use to smoke em before we were even 10 years old. I could roll a cornsilk cigarette faster then Cheech or Chong could roll a joint! Lol.
Wow you are on it
You are so intelligent and beautiful, thanks for sharing!
Just starting to plan out a medicinal garden to add to my resources. I have made some homemade vanilla using two types of alcohol, was recommended from another homestead on YT. Looking forward to all you create!
Thank you 👍
Wow wow WOW 🫠🌱💜❤️🔥✨️
Keep up the good work...
forage chanca piedra for kidney stones. The best! Great video. Beautiful apothecary. So lucky mom to have your daughter work with you! :)
oh goody. got that book YEARS ago and never have really used it. I just got up and found it easily.. so YAY. I have been wanting to get back into natural healing things.. I have made elderberry syrup but I am wanting to make a tincture. I need to start a batch of sauerkraut here too
Looks amazing. I want to do Propolis tincture this year.
You 100% should!!!
Your spot looks amazing I could hang out here all day Hi mom ☮️❤️💡
Love this! We weathered the big C with tinctures...and a little Ibuprofen for the massive headaches. We used tinctures of chaga, pine, elderberry, mullein, and oregano. Your apothecary is beautiful!
Wow what an amazing testimony! Thank God for these amazing herbs 💛
Self heal (prunella vulgaris) knocks out fever and headache for me like absolutely nothing else!
@@TheHoneystead Amen!
@@sarahgracenadeau I've never used self heal for headache, but I'm will to try it if the need arises. I am not one to have headaches often, but WOW did we have them when we had the virus. I used yarrow to improve my fever and try to break it, but with the virus I fevered for several days on and off and it finally ran its course. Thanks for the heads up about self heal! My daughter and I forage it from our land and keep a good stash! God bless.
@@rough-hewnhomestead5737 I only started foraging last year, and I had lots of self heal and I was pregnant and didn't want to take a bunch of poison to feel better. When I tell you my fever and headache went away within an hour of drinking a self heal tea. Just wonderful. I'm definitely on the look out for some yarrow. I think I'm just gonna get some seeds for all this stuff and grow it in a medicine garden🥰
May The Father bless you too!
Great and calming video! As a heads-up; Monotropa uniflora ("Indian pipe") is not a fungus but a plant without chlorophyll.
Your al so lovable .... ❣🇸🇪
