    I for one loved the 767. It's the one reason I preferred to fly BA from the USA to Greece. The flight BA 632/631 were on the 767, so I got the luxury of wide bodied flights throughout my trip. That and with a seat within rows 1-25, got a leather seat with more room and a footrest as well!

    L1011 and 767 are the airplanes I cut my teeth on! I could tell you everything about the L1011…..and the 767 humming engines!❤️

    • @Rocket-hb6jh
      @Rocket-hb6jh 2 года назад

      @Samuel Wright yep. L1011 only offered with RB211 and that’s why it lost out to the DC-10 as RR went broke during the development and unlike the DC-10, which had not tied itself to a single engine supplier (DC-10 P&W or GE) which delayed its release so some US carriers for whom it was built, opted fir the DC-10 instead but the L1011 was by FAR the better aeroplane.
      Re the 767, yes, BA 767-336ERs had RB211, I know because Qantas bought 7 of them to supplement its 29 767-338ERs (GE) and 767-238ERs (P&W).

    The days when Lord King and Sir Colin Marshall were Chairman + CEO respectively , BA was in a league on it's own, there were no cut backs of items on board , which ihas become the norm .Lord King + Sir Colin were not accountants ,unlike the CEOs of today whose main priority is how much the shareholders dividend share is. Blinded by Greed.
    Lord King + Marshall believed that you look after your employees , happy employees ,then the passengers were happy , and they returned.
    This was in the mid 1980s when BA was privatised until the mid 1990s. The airline consistently made healthy profits .
    The rats began jumping from the sinking "plane " mid 2000s until now a days.
    The New First Class , cu 'mon ! It takes more than full size crockery, tea cups and frikking after noon tea. How about a complete overhaul , through out.

    so they fitted the same 8-seat abreast business class back in their 777s in 2019? IMO its probs the worst business class ever, but costs roughly the same as any other business class seats, including their own ones on the A350s, which is much better. It sucks that for business travellers in London that both BA and Virgin has terrible business classes on most of their fleets, though both of their A350s are much better, I wish those products are on more aircrafts.
