In my opinion it’s the best watch Hamilton have ever bought out. I would definitely get the 41mm , there is nothing I dislike about it. But as always here in the U.K. we have to pay more the pleasure of purchasing the watch. Atm I’ve seen it for sale at around £1045 which is probably about 50-60 dollars more then you would pay. So I will probably wait and see if there is going to be a sale sometime
This is the next watch on my list. I also have a 7.25” wrist and do think the 37mm is a tinge small on my wrist as well.. but simultaneously I am of the school of thought that a field watch should be on the smaller side. Perhaps a 39mm would have been the sweet spot but the short lug to lug makes the watch seem more square.. which I hypothesize made the 39mm look awkward with that bracelet.. thus the two sizes being offered both larger and smaller. I intended to wear the hell out of this thing.. with all the scratches adding to its charm over the years.. I’m also very happy with an 80hr power reserve as during the week I wear my watches much less.. so my watches with lower power reserves tend to peter out. It’s not the end of the world to set them again but it’s nice to not have to as often. Curious what the accuracy will be like and also appreciate ETA’s fairly antimagnetic hairsprings even at their most entry level movements.
Lume aside, these are very cool. I also had been thinking it would have been great if they'd lumed the Arabic numerals, though that wouldn't have worked on the white dial model. I think the size options are great. I'd likely go for the 41mm personally. The price isn't cheap, but with the AR, solid crown, and a better movement than some of the lower end Khaki Fields, and what appears to be a better bracelet, I am good with it. Your discount code makes it an even more solid deal. I sure appreciate that code, and I'm sure others do as well. I would love to see some sort of khaki green version down the line.
An icon in the making not sure about the compass bezel but looks cool at least it’s not polished I hope they supply of good nato straps not a fan of bracelets on a field watch. Great vid thank you 😊
These do look great, but a grand seems too high. Hopefully they’ll come down in price a bit. 6:16 but….. if the release of these drive down the price of that awesome bronze field khaki, I’d totally be fine with that haha
@@jrnjrn sorry i meant the Khaki Field in 42mm. Different watch with different lug structure. This 41mm might wear completely different. I’m just at a small watch phase. Tired of the weight and lack of comfort of big steel pieces.
It wouldve been perfect is Hamilton put a 12hr bezel or just a countdown/countup bezel like the Breitling Avenger on these. The Compass bezel is useless because you can use the bezel as a compass withotu the markings anyway if you know the method. A different bezel wouldve elevated this to one of the leading tool watches in its class.
Interesting Formula =>> no date, short lugs, 37mm version, screw down crown, screw case, military diver watch appearance (with bezel) =>> really, really an excellent choice... Better Hamilton watch ever built...
@@giusepperocchi2979 yeah--it's such a silly feature to put on a watch, string alongside the tachymeter and 100m+ water-resistance as embarrassing reminders of how much modern "tool" watches are really just high-dollar cosplay for dudes wanting to pretend their lives are closer to James Bond's than Moneypenny's.
This 37mm looks a bit too small on your 18.5mm wrist, to me... I'm always disappointed with the glare on my Field King and apparently this one doesn't have the same issue. Nice piece.
I thought the Hamilton logo was a star, while not paying attention, but it's the letter "H". Makes sense of course, but now I don't like it lol. Not in the crown even. Also the crown is my problem, now that you pointed it out. I'm sure it's legit, operates well, but the size of it visually bugs me. Might buy the watch anyway, top of my list now.
Will Hamilton ever make a watch that has a proper antireflective coating? Why is nobody ever adressing this? Field watches with a glare of a mirror in the sun.

Love it in 41 but so glad they have two sizes

The sound of a crown pop, ah, we are indeed watch geeks:)
Haha. Did it come through in audio?

As an owner of a 42mm, I would trade for a 37mm in a heartbeat. Field watches should be small.
Agree. Small size with big numbers and good lume. This looks nice.
I disagree. It’s 41mm, not 42. I have the same size wrist as Rob, and it seems perfect to me.

Mine from 1982 is 33mm
Its all about personal preference.
Hamilton fan-....girl. Perfect for the smaller wrist. Loving mine.

where is ur suede strap from? It's beautiful
crystal is all scuffed up between the 6 and the 7. perhaps outer AR coating already peeling??
I d have wished a 38 or 39 mm version.
i think it would have looked awkward with the short lug to lug relative to the lug width.. you have to see it in person.. the watch looks more square.
Swap out that goofy compass bezel for a 12-hour or just lose the rotating bezel altogether) and this would be killer.
Only Seiko can get away with that stuff…
@@giusepperocchi2979 the goofy compass bezel on the "Land Turtle" is what turned me off to that otherwise great piece as well.
@@MeestroDavid
Not to mention the Alpinist, that goes the extra length of using a dedicated crown to operate the goofy compass thing.

That was my thinking also, this without a bezel would be sweet!
If Hamilton comes up with a 37mm version in military green dial, I'll get it in a heartbeat....

Hey Rob, discount code is not being accepted for this watch .....

Looks like the discontinued Breitling Colt.

I thought I was the only one that doesn’t like short lug-to-lug for bands.
I hope we return to crown guards soon. This crown looks a bit awkward imo
Go get an Explorer II then
@@NJ0711 I have one
Why Hamiton ruin it with compass bezel?
No movement on any crown lately. They must have gotten together and decided that that was what they were going to do.
Seiko alpinist killer
Nice watch; I just bought Seiko turtle alpinist srpg17. Same category as this Hamilton
I don’t recall you turning the bezel!
I wish they did a 36 and a 40
1000$ is too much for this, and I wish the bezel is the 12 hours to track another timezone
I bought one, it is worth of the money, love it. 😂
Very nice video 💦
I love orange dial watches, don’t care if it’s a diver or dress. So I would like to see this in a bright orange dial
I’d like it without the fauxtina
Wow that lume is SO bad
Absurd bazel
took them 1000 years to design a screw down crown haha

I like hamilton, but this is definitely a 'meh' watch watch.
The compass bezel sucks hard I’m not gonna lie lol
yes, Yes, YES...... No
Love this. Absolutely spot on. Watch reviewing at its finest.
@@MrBazH really nice watch, but they should have equip it with a sword shaped hourhand, would have been perfect
