Ah, not nose-dirt then ! Thanks for explaining
@Joseph Bunn Corona
I didn't even know this existed
It just got revealed today
same
Me too 9___9
i did read some rumours bout such a set a few months ago but didn't know if it was true or not. Seems like it was.
Because it’s new?
I love it when you upload, you might just have the best Lego RUclips channel on the platform
you review each set with so much detail it just shows your hard work and I respect that, even if you nit-pick some of my favourite sets
Thank you, and guess what? I have 2 more reviews coming this week :)
@@searme cant wait for it
i hope its the tow truck and the Mercedes Benz Zetros
keeping my fingers crossed
@@kingballoon2968 me too, can’t wait for the review of the tow truck

You are a fantastic lego reviewer and make no mistake. I subscribe to lots of lego channels but yours is the first I go to when a review pops up.
Wow, thanks!
if they're going to prioritize functions over looks with these large-scale cars they need to go full Aston Martin DB5 or not even bother
I completely agree
they look pretty great even with functions
Me who wanted a review of the lego Zetros but still just love any content from Sariel: This is… acceptable.
The low mounted front turning lights was a feature of the first version of the VW T2 now referred to as the T2a. The T2a was manufactured from autumn 1967 to summer of 1972 (MY 1968-1972). The T2a also had the taillights of the last version of the T1. The high mounted front turning lights were introduced the autumn of 1972 (MY 1973) and used until 1979. Now referred to as the T2b. The T2b got new larger taillights with integrated reversing lights, larger „square“ bumpers, an improved front crash protection structure and more.
Thanks for the review! I love the new models! So many details! Thanks Lego!
As i see this video in my recommended section, first thing i do before opening the video is taking a quick look again at my "T1" VW camping van.
Oh no, in my review I said the FORMA connector was a totally new piece, d'oh! Thanks for setting the record straight!
It appears you were right and I was wrong :)
I’m blown away this set came out this year. The front looks so bad it’s insulting that this is sold under the VW license. Maybe 10-15 year ago I could see this set looking like this, but not now. If you asked me what this was, I’d say “uhhh maybe a VW bus?” Instead of what I say when I see the T1: “oh that? That’s a VW bus. No question about it.” The functions are great, especially the roof, but once again lego seems hell bent on making functional or “unseen” parts as colorful as possible. The underside of that roof should not be a rainbow. The sets that are marketed to this age demographic don’t need help following instructions.
That's awesome. The original camper was actually what got me back into LEGO as an adult. So I'm definitely picking this up as well.
This is amazing!!
Thanks for the breakdown. Glad to see the technic brick 5x5 in white.
I really like this tyres!
Surery another to join my collection. Great video.
Still on my must-have list along with that brown-red pick-up.
Munbo jumbo would love it !
Great review! Comment at 21.46’ really hits the spot.

I love your reviews, they are always so thoughtful andI have learned so much from you, thanks for these videos.
You are so welcome!
love all the details in this one :)
Great review Sariel! I may not be the biggest fan of the set, but I do think the blue color looks nice and gives it a very unique feel. I hope they make more sets with bright colors.
The only reviews I watch.
Also thanks for being bluntly (pun intended, regarding the flattened front part of the set) honest about how you see this set.
Wow, this is Cool!! I want to buy one.
Great review :)
awsome review, and that set looks awsome
- Oh my god... They found me. I don't know how but they found me.
RUN FOR IT, MARTY!!!
- Who, who?
- Who do you think, THE LIBYANS!
Cool
your music is soooo good
This thing is cool, love the vids
I appreciate the later uploads, I can get a little more sleep lol, love the videos, can't wait for a review on the tow truck and the raptor sets
Cool! 👍 👍 👍
This actually appeals to me.
Mumbo better get this 〰️
Awesome, dude! I think it’s like the first time we learned about a set from your review)! Can’t wait to get my hands on the model!
19:17 Don’t you find the Hand of God steering a little uncomfortable? Cuz I do
On the other hand it’s meant to be a display model rather than a playset so it doesn’t really matter. For posing the model it’s more than fine and a clever way to hide the steering wheel
Wow
Still more functions than the normal techinc set ;D btw love your videos mate!
Mumbo would love this Van . He have this irl
Haha yeaaaah he would-
Model: Brightly coloured camper, full of happy stickers
Box: B L A C K
19:22 The way that steering wheel is placed reminds me of the LEGO Technic Mack Anthem released in 2018
It reminds me of how they did it with the Model Team sets. They were usually hidden as spare tyres as well. Really cool!
Really awesome review, so sad that the RUclips algorithm doesn‘t work in your favour lately, this really deserves more views....
Btw, feels like the first time I‘ve seen you give a set one star for the building experience😂
Thats sliding door is just... pr0nography ngl, that thing is so well made!
I liked your review very much; so much, that I subscribed. I'm glad that you don't cut LEGO any slack. I was at times uncomfortable watching your speed build, because I could tell that there were either some construction or instruction problems. Was going to buy this set for my son who is a 'Van Life' aficionado, but now I'm not going to because of two things--the difference in size between this and the original (he has that one and we built it together), and secondly the build experience which I believe he would find frustrating (he's not a LEGO nut like the rest of us). I wouldn't subject him to that just because I'm a LEGO fan. Too bad, but that's why you do the reviews, and thanks for all the good information!
My pleasure, thanks!
looking forward to your guardians’ ship review
You really pulled out a split window, double cab model. One of the rarest VW's in existence O_O
I also didn't know this existed... although I will probably be spammed with email from LEGO about later this week.
I agree with you that the color scheme could have been more iconic. I am sure the color is one of the main reasons people got the T1, it's certainly why I loved it.
I hope if this gets a longish life LEGO re-releases at some point with "refreshed" box art.
And the shape.
I like it when other RUclipsrs are making videos about leaked photos about this set, and Sriel is already publishing in-hand reviews.
And getting less views than they did.
I'm not really a fan of this set but I like to see some rather technic functions in a creator set. It still looks decent but has nice complex things like the steering, sliding doors and that tent thing on top
Here's a comment for the algorithm. Great stuff as usual!
I just got through building the set. While normally I agree with your reviews I must strongly disagree with this one. I don't find it unattractive at all I think it looks great and it's a great Lego model and I'm very happy with it.
The song you used at the beginning in the best track you use in your vids, when I hear it I know it’ll be a great vid
I love it and I'm buying it!
Btw, will you do a review on the raptor as well? I might like it more if I see it in detail :)
Sure, as soon as I get it.
@@searme Awesome! I'll be waiting then :D
All colours of the rainbow, could be FRIENDS set ...
I really wanted this set. I was excited to see it released and with all the counterculture references in the stickers because I'm a huge 60s counterculture enthusiast. But there was always something that looked wrong about this set and it started with the front that does not say "Volkswagen" in any way. The T1 also has much better details in the interior. I'm trying to make my mind up about which set will be my last one for the year between this and the Farm Truck and I think the decision is a lot easier now.
Yes we need the box art designers to rebel against the plague of all black box art.
Fantastic review as well as per usual.
25:00 - yeah, that colour mismatch really bothered me in the Jaguar combo set last year in the Speed Champions line. The funny thing is, no one seemed to mention it in their reviews, so I thought I was the only one.
Those white pin-axles 3L for the front wheels are frictionless on the pin side ? Haven't such piece before.

The front is really bad and I 100% agree with your cons. Maybe I'll buy it at a 50% discount.
*WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT THE HELL I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN PROMO PIC LEAKS AROUND THE INTERNET YET AND YOU GOT IT ALREADY I-*
He works at Lego??
I don't work at LEGO.
@@searme Oops 😂 - how did you get the set then, LAN?
@@walkingbrick4529 he is part of recognized LEGO fan media which gives you sets for review if you make quality content and have a decent amount of subs and viewers.
@@stopmotion4244 So is that the Lego Ambassador Network?
Really hope LEGO understands that bigger and more complex =/= better. Feels like this follow-up was designed with the intention to impress with its size, building techniques, and functionality. And I'll hand it to them, they excelled in those areas. But honestly, none of that matters all too much if the model lacks authenticity in its appearance. To paraphrase you, the model feels too blocky and bloated, as compared to the round and slender appearance of a real T2. Also, I am perplexed by the decision to size this up. It only increases the price, and maybe adds a few more details. But is a $50+ increase going to justify any additional features to the average consumer?
From another review I thought the windscreen was the ghostbusters one but it is different. Actually it is 1 stud higher and only 3 studs wide/long. Were the gb screen is a 6 x 14 x 4 this would be a 3 x 14 x 5. I could use one for moccing.
Thank you for an honest review. A newer model is NOT always a better model. The original T1 is a much better Lego set and build. I'm afraid Lego failed on the T2. Glad you are 'brave' enough to point this out.
This would look great with my other VW Bus
T-800 is really worth the wait
21:45
You got me there.
Sets like these are cool, I have the Ford you showed there, and I have the Porsche of the same scale. The only problem with these is the mess of colour hidden away, knowing it’s there bothered me!
Why didn't they use clear stickers for these grille patterns at the front? Solves the issue of bad color matching.
Any chance you could create a 63, or early 60’s, Econoline window van
i like vespa
Great Review Man! I am especially happy that you are not to give a bad score/final note even though you got it for free! +20 credibility if your channel was a magic item :)
how hard is it to make sure that the sticker colour matches the the brick colour?
If I didnt read the title i wouldnt know that this schould be a Volkswagen t2
Uważam, że ten set powinien mieć nadruki zamiast naklejek (m.in. napis Volkswagen).
Szkoda, że Lego nie robi tych pojazdów w zbliżonej skali, a większość ma niestety różną skalę.
Ciekawe jak z czasem ten set zyska na wartości, bo może być to dobra inwestycja na późniejszą sprzedaż
So, by the time we get the t-34 we'll all be dead...
And don't even think about the t800
When I first saw the pictures I was a bit equally surprised and confused: Is Lego making an successor for the T1 without it being a licensed model? Then I saw the name of the set. It indeed doesn't look like a T2 at all, even with that newly designed windscreen piece. Maybe they should have better skipped a generation and made a T3 camper....
And obviously the T1 wasn't perfect either. But at least it looked like typical Lego, which makes it easier to cut it some slack. This doesn't look like a T2 and tries to not look like Lego, which makes it just a poor scale model. And that's a shame since I love the amount of detail they put into this.
the T3 has the best chance to look good in lego because its the boxiest of them all
I couldn't have been the only person expecting to see "Mystery Machine" stickered on it somewhere, could I?
I've got the red one
If you don’t tell me this is a Volkswagen t2, I will say this is a really cool minibus.
Great review as always!
Anyone know the name of the first song?
Final note : kids, wanna go to the roller coaster? XD
Honestly, rather than making a (if im not mistaken) non brazilian version of another VW combi, they should have made a toyota land cruiser 70 troopy camper like the one from 4xoverland... I think that would be fabulous... But i am quite astonished by a lot of its functions in it, not like a lot of the creator series
Was there a media embargo on this set, it seems like other channels released around the same time
Had to be. The second it popped up on Instagram there were a few reviews posted.
There always is.
If you did not get the T1 this set is cool but if like me and so many others got the T1, I don't feel its anywhere near as good, the T1 is about half as much which to me these creator expert cars should around £100, the ford mustang should be the upper limit of price. I have no issue with the colours apart from Legos continous struggles with matching colours on bricks to stickers they should probably make them clear backed (more unforgiving but result is better). Based on what I said I will not get this set but want to get the white pieces from the T1 in new condition as I got mine second hand.
I like the functions, but it has a bad case of the Aston Martin syndrome. T1 still wins my heart.
With the Sticker Color i dont understand why they arent just clear with detail?

Aren't those white frictionless axles for the front wheels new?
Nope.

@@searme thanks
Lego might as well make a TMNT van
The sticker color mismatch could be solved simply by using transparent stickers......Lego had transparent stickers back in 90's, wonder why they don't use it anymore
19:52 I spotted a mistake. The text says "wiht" instead of "with".
The Pin is a bit different from the forma pin (49731) - so this is a brand new part!
Is it? How?
@@searme It's a new part that has an anti-stud and maybe fit a 14mm tire. The Forma pin was simply used to hold the foils having a bigger flat outer diameter head.
@@searme Check the picture in Bricklink.. it's has a flatter, smooth head. More detailed pics on New Elementary: www.newelementary.com/2020/02/lego-forma-revan-new-petya-gus-moth.html

The lower indicators appeared on the early versions of this van late 60s very early 70s. Thereafter they were mounted higher up. Agree with the front of this set looking bad!
as a VW fan, I am happy this set exist and will buy it. Also as a VW fan, I am sad that LEGO did not do T2 aesthetic justice.
I guess I have the next 10 years to think about buying this one.
