It fascinates me why someone would video record driving around in their car in the 80's but I can't thank you enough for doing it. Back then, were you from the future and knew RUclips was a thing? !!!!!😜
I've watched all of your driving videos. I work in Fairburn but never drove around it when the A1 was there and those videos especially are my favourite. I had to laugh when the A1 traffic towards Brotherton came to a standstill and a lorry driver decided to get out and climb up the side of the lorry to tie it down properly, you wouldn't see that nowadays 😂. I hope you have a few more driving videos in the locker that you will filter through at some stage.
Ahhh no average speed zones, in fact no speed cameras at all! Amazing that you could pull over and stop. Barriers everywhere now, which to be fair is a good thing.
I keep watching these videos in the hope that I'll see myself driving around. The thing that I find astounding is the lack of trees and bushes in these videos. Everything seems so open. Keep them coming, although I know one day you'll post the last one.
No it was a rather heavy hand held Akai VCX -2E on this one. Did do some later ones with a shoulder mount Olympus VX- 301 camera. .And then used the Olympus on a tripod on the 1985 to 87 Dashcam videos.
People think driving standards, in particular, lane discipline has become worse in recent times. Here is a video proving that it's probably always been terrible!
I love all your driving videos. I even got excited when just the other week i drove down a street in castleford and thought i recognised this street! It was from one of your videos! What car are you in? Im thinking Capri?

It was a novelty seeing stuff like this on your telly.at the time.
Only 4 channels on the telly, or video rental shops.

This was my alarm for years and years. Great tune.
I love looking back at old footage. This was two years before I was born but still captivates me.

I'm from Darrington. Same class as Lynne. This is priceless. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it

Its usually the other way nowadays.
What was once farmland, & trees, etc. Are now housing estates, & massive industrial estates
No central barriers either back in the day, remember them being fitted later on.
I recall that tune on a certain lightning video😁
I can only wonder at how u could hav held the camara steady, was it ine of then on the shoulder jobs?
