His head crashed into the windshield leaving blood and tissue all over the glass and onto her dash. She was alone and wisely did not stop and get out. She called police and drove to the police station. They found his body in a ditch about 30 feet off the road. Investigators met with her and she was cleared. It’s been about two years and it still troubles her.

my mom always taught me that someone flashing their high beams at you means there’s a cop up ahead. but i know that not everyone was taught the same thing so i always slow down and pay extra attention if someone flashes their lights at me
At least here flashing means that either your lights are not turned on or there's something on the road. If your lights are on, then you'll have to slow down. Usually it's gonna be either moose or reindeer. Quite a few times that's been EXTREMELY helpful, especially when running into a pack of reindeer parked up in the middle of the road as they usually like to do lol
Could be problem with your lights (which you should be able to tell visually) or cops ahead watching for speeders or other reasons to be cautious and, at least temporarily, drive slow.

It's common sense, they can't enter your car when you are driving, reason they try to block you in order to get you to stop. People should be told to keep a distance, if he had been right on their bumper when they stopped, he can't drive past them and has to go in reverse first, also means they have less distance to cover before getting to your car.

One of my brothers friends had to do that after leaving our house. They forgot to setup their GPS and pulled into a side street to park and set it up, but she ended up pulling up right next to an active drug deal. It worked, as they didn’t follow her in. She was so shaken what happened that she sold her car the next week in fear it could be recognised and targeted in it.

If a car cuts you off and does something shady like that, call 911 ASAP. Don't wait until you are chased around town to call the cops. It will take time for them to arrive. Also, the 300 was cutting him off, you have a dashcam, read the plate number OUT LOUD to yourself. When you playback the dashcam, you can get the plate number if you don't remember it. Note that dashcams are notoriously bad at seeing license plates at night. When you are heading to a shady place known to be unsafe, have a plan, have the phone ready to call 911, and be ready for something to happen.
I know this is not easy in some places but how about not going to the sketchy place at all? If you won't go to a place without your firearm, you probably shouldn't go with it either😊

Julio got away but don't be Julio. Call 911 first, don't wait till you are being shot at or run off the road. Then get to the most populated place you can find. If you have to drive in circles till the police get there that's better than randomly taking streets and it will be easier for police to locate you. Have these scenarios preplanned in your mind and you will do it without making mistakes.
Should drive to your local police station as you are calling 911. Google Maps will show you where it is, at least in the United States and other civilized countries.
I´m from Chile, and the fourth footage was even shown in the news, it shows a very common carjacking style that here are called "encerrona", they first started by corning cars when they are entering or exiting their homes, this are called "portonazos", in those moments people stop to wait for the gates to open/close. Another version is this one, they close your way in the highways exits, so they can steal your car. Sadly has become pretty common, so people here are constantly reminded of being aware of your surroundings and odd behavior while driving.

@@jayasmrmore3687 Only one other I can think of. If you're on a highway with fair weather conditions and you have to pull over for whatever reason (breakdown or something) do not under any circumstances sit inside your car at the side of the road - this includes on a hard shoulder or a layby. Sitting in the car is you being a sitting duck for someone to careen right into you. I've seen examples of people losing control of their car while driving on a public highway and crashing straight into a parked car at the side of the road. I've seen one video which I believe was from Italy where a sports car travelling excessively high speeds loses control and flies straight into a car stopped in a service station. The occupants of the car - a mother and her children - were instantly destroyed. The husband was inside the service station shop at the time and lost everything. Even if it seems safe to do so, don't remain in your vehicle if you are stuck on a highway. In case of a severe weather event then use your judgement but always be prepared have extra clothing and some food in your car in case you do get stranded. You just learn to stay alert and defensive and have a bug out plan, an emergency bug out kit, and know your routes well....REALLY WELL! It will save your life. just want you to know that if I was in that situation too (or any sane adult for that matter) I’m NOT swerving- if a grown adult is standing in the middle of a highway im not risking my life further to try and save theirs when they’re clearly trying to get us both killed. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it could’ve happened to anyone. My car was hit by a distracted driver and that accident gives me a similar feeling when I drive, so I’m sorry you have to endure that too. NOT your fault. Life goes on and time heals.
These stories are terrifying. Side note, the statement in the 4th story about getting electrocuted is false; your vehicle can be in contact with live wires and as long as you stay inside your vehicle, you will be safe. Your tires act as the ground.
I don't really know what you mean by "Your tires act as the ground", but you are safe because it's way easier for the current to go through the cars body then through yours. That's also the reason why you are safe in the car during a lightning storm. Your car will act as an Farady cage.
In the event of wires falling on a vehicle, there is NO ground, so there is no current flow. If your car is in tact and upright, your tires act as an insulator, so there is no complete circuit, the power does not travel into, around, or thru your car. You can see what that looks like at 16:20. Then, if some metal touches the ground, or you try and step out, the circuit is completed, grounding thru YOU. You can see what that looks like at 16:30. The thing laying on he ground on fire (in this case) would be YOU. STAY IN THE CAR, if it is on fire, or you have to get out for some other reason, JUMP! Do NOT step out while holding the car, or you will stop living.
This is a common misbelief. The tires have nothing to do with it and offer no protection, ground or insulation. The metal car acts as a faraday cage protecting the occupants (as long as you are not also touching metal frame/roof etc)
I guess you can all believe whatever myth you like, just be forewarned, when you get electrocuted due to your own ignorance, it is going to hurt the whole time you are dying. Or, you could grow up and do a little research. It may save your life, or someone else's. Anyone who has studied electricity for more than 5 minutes knows that rubber is an insulator, and that if the car is not grounded (because rubber tires are an insulator), then the circuit is not complete. Right up till some moron steps out of the car.

Yeah and It could have killed him there's a thing called step potential when a power line hits the ground. The difference in voltage potential between his two legs could have killed him You're supposed to hop with your feet together or shuffle your feet not letting one go past the other to not have them too far apart significantly lessening the chance of a voltage potential between your legs
What a lot of people don’t know about powerlines is that when the power goes out the lines ARE de-energized but the system automatically tries to re-energize the lines before personnel have to be sent out. This catches people by surprise.
Sometimes, people do it to gently remind other drivers "Hey, you can go. It's your turn/light's green". I grew up in Cali where we do this alot, also a gentle tap of the horn. There are obviously some places where you should be cautious about doing that tho because people are unstable and unpredictable. Sometimes its just better to let idiots be idiots. If other drivers flash their lights at you, as at least 2 of these clips show, it means slow down and BE ON ALERT.
my mom always taught me that someone flashing their high beams at you means there’s a cop up ahead. but i know that not everyone was taught the same thing so i always slow down and pay extra attention if someone flashes their lights at me
See, I was always taught it means to check my own lights: whether my brights are blinding other drivers or if they aren't on at all.

Only time you get out of your car on the road is if it is on fire, I see no other situation in which you should be doing that
Absolutely! Very well said!

The guy who blew the door off the carjackers car was quick thinking!
7:00 I would never stop for a man standing on the road trying to save him and risking my daughter's life but I know he was just scared. I would stop/deviate for an animal tho.
11:53 How difficult is it to find a car that has had the passenger door torn off?
right lmfao i’m a collision repair tech and you would not be able to close the door after that type of damage, let alone be able to easily hide it. the only reason cops can’t find the car is because they’re not actually looking for it.
The car was stolen kids, they would have abandoned it shortly after.
In those countries difficult. So many beat up cars. And it was stolen
@@misseselise3864well ya, since the door was torn off, I suspect you probably wouldn't be able to close it. 😂 Thank God we have a collision tech to provide expertise. 😂

First story happened in my city near my work and can confirmed it’s definitely not a safe area, especially at night. You need to be extra cautious at all times. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of people being randomly targeted out and being followed. Either car jackings or gang related
Yeah I noticed that area and that's on the outskirts of the warzone, not s good place at night sketchy af
@@hunterthegermanfor real. Definitely need to avoid the area at night

Albuquerque, New Mexico and not the safest at night for sure in that we call THE WAR ZONE. Crime in that area is crazy and can be really scary. I wouldn't live in that for my Life. Drive Thru there in daylight ok but never at night.

Sorry, but Id had floored it at that dude with the Machette.
My thought exactly, he would have gone under the car for sure.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe do to the driver's window being open and the bad road conditions, he thought otherwise
The fire looks like the gates of hell
Try living just like 20 miles away from it in the neighboring counties. I grew up down here and there are sadly worse fires than LNU. One was the Mendocino Complex Fire of 2018. Burned 460,000 acres and became (at the time) the biggest fire in California history. Sadly fires like this are becoming too common and have already been surpassed in their scale. You become accustomed and desensitized to it and learn to just live with it. The mental health aspects it leaves tho are great and the physical health aspects are obviously not great when you live near an area like this that goes up in smoke EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. You just learn to stay alert and defensive and have a bug out plan, an emergency bug out kit, and know your routes well....REALLY WELL! It will save your life. Kinda can't rely on others and frankly your time is up to prepare when the sheriff or fire service comes knocking at your door telling you to "Go Now!"
@@RedPaganNetworkya I lived in American canyon at teh time it was pretty scary the days of orange skies and no sun

@russelsprout2155 I'm a chef and have known cars are grounded since I was like 11. Top Gear taught me that...
I am so baffled at the man standing in the middle of the road, this kind of obscure and selfish behavior from humanity is why we’re literally the absolute worst
And given the context it seems he just walked away, didn’t check on the people who spun out and crashed
I’m baffled at that and the drivers stupidity and carelessness.. How could someone drive a car at 80 mph with headlights like that?! It like he’s trying to kill himself. Sadly this is a lot of AMERICAN drivers now but there is like a thousand different personal or mental issues involved. Most Americans probably shouldn’t be driving…
This is an insane selfish act by person in street and a huge lack of accountability on drivers part.

And be sure to ask them about any other resources they can offer which includes the nearest food banks and shelters. I wish the best of luck to you!

😳wow, that 2nd clip is exactly what happened to me! Unfortunately I didn’t see him early enough to swerve out of the way. He died at the scene & it took me a good year to get over it.

@@Katherine_xs tbh, you never do really get over it. It plays on the mind constantly “will it happen again”
just want you to know that if I was in that situation too (or any sane adult for that matter) I’m NOT swerving- if a grown adult is standing in the middle of a highway im not risking my life further to try and save theirs when they’re clearly trying to get us both killed. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it could’ve happened to anyone. My car was hit by a distracted driver and that accident gives me a similar feeling when I drive, so I’m sorry you have to endure that too. NOT your fault. Life goes on and time heals.
Why is it that all my brain cared about was the fact that the person in Chile was listening to Freedom by Anna Kendrick from Pitch Perfect 3? 😂
Of course it’s the soundtrack of badasses
Negative
8:13 W passenger who said to drive forward, I don’t understand people yeah I don’t want to hurt people but if they have machetes trying to hurt me I’m going forward on him
If you drive forward you risk damaging your engine body's are heavier than you think it's a comment misconception but never drive forward back up a little then go, with enough speed you might do it but what if there body gets stuck in the tire.
The first one is in Albuquerque, I recognize the street names and 2 tall buildings. Unfortunately there just seems to be an ever increasing amount of crime there. My aunt’s boyfriend was shot in the leg in a simple case of road rage when he stopped and didn’t speed through a yellow light.
It's why it made such a great setting for Breaking Bad!
I'm pretty sure it was around the outskirts of the warzone
I'm certain it was that gas station that used to be at San Mateo and Central then he went down San Mateo and then turned east on Lomas and it's when he gets to Louisiana that he spots the cop. He dropped his friend off at the White Castle adult store lol@@hunterthegerman
For some reason I knew right away it was ABQ when I saw that big white building. Crazy. Then dude said he was on lomas and I was like yep
All these footages are downright terrifying but the first one definitely takes the cake 😰😰 Albeit the guy was smart and quick-witted, it sends chills down my spine to think what would have happened if he didn't come across the cop car. @@debbienocero2415Since the fire was so bright, the camera's auto exposure lowered to compensate

Love how the Chilean guy took the advice of the Kenyan guy from the earlier video 😎
He heard that trainer yelling all the way from Africa.
And they said they refused to give a lift to those officers on foot...
What’s even scarier than these videos are the ones that aren’t captured by dash cams
What a lot of people don’t know about powerlines is that when the power goes out the lines ARE de-energized but the system automatically tries to re-energize the lines before personnel have to be sent out. This catches people by surprise.
I usually find these videos to be rather chilling, but the one where the driver took off that car door had me cracking up 😂😂😂
This is why one NEVER flashes their brights in anger. Bright-flashing is a warning to outher drivers, never to be used in road-rage.
Natural selection or Karma or both will catch up with them
At 7:13 it’s also possible that the person in the road was elderly and suffers from dementia. My mom had dementia and would run away and stand/walk in the middle of the road. I couldn’t really see the person very well, so it was difficult to determine the age. Although, some younger people have been also known to suffer cognitive signs of dementia.
No, there was 2 of them.

That first one seems like a setup. I’d be looking into the friend that asked him to meet her there… She might have been setting him up to get robbed. Just a possibility.
Right? Especially if he was meeting there because she specifically said it's not safe after dark like the video says. "Oh, I'm so sorry you got carjacked! I told you that the place wasn't safe."
