End stage racing and stage points. They can run a tire that will not last as long which will require more pit stops.

    Great show,Thanks Dale and Richard.I hate stage racing,it turns a 500/400 mile race into a 3 stage race,like 2 heats and a feature.Blocking is not good,it isn't racing,it's blocking,and that can create wrecks and injuries.

I like how the King pointed out that in his day, there was no blocking. Driver's respected each other back then and even the big teams only had 3 or 4 cars. They couldn't afford to be destroying cars every week.

They follow the leader until the wreck, then it starts over again until the last few laps . Same thing every year at Daytona and Talladega 🤬🥱

By the way, a 55 second lap at Talladega is 174 MPH, you had to run faster than that to even make the race 40-50 years ago.

    Hey Richard Petty
Long time fan, glad to see you’re still ticking. I was at the race and tuned in to all the controversy afterwards. I made a poll on my Race page on Instagram rather or not people thought it was reckless driving? So far most people don’t think it was, but I think in the long run it’s only going to promote reckless driving.

There needs to be an incentive to race hard in between stages. Maybe do it like Dale said in the old days with bonus points (fewer than what the stage win offers) but on a certain lap in the middle of the stage and stay under green. You could also have a sponsored bonus to go with the points which would help with race cost for bonus winner. (Tires and fuel) It breaks the race up into segments without stopping the race. At that point there is something to race hard for throughout the race. A lead the most points bonus would also definitely get people moving too

The young fans do not remember how exciting and unpredictable Talledega was. Its hard to capture a large audience when all you really need to do now is watch the start and the finish. Nothing matters in between.

The line "This ain't nothin but a parade" covers it Perfectly. NASCAR has managed to pisss away All of its respectability. Ditch Stages, Ditch Restrictor Plates, Ditch Pre-Fabricated Cars, and Ditch Those Childish, Foolish, Post-Race Burnouts ... and speaking of "Childish And Foolish", Ditch Bubba Wallace Too(!!!) 😖.

Thank you King! I have been saying for years- stop the blocking. Let's put a stop to it all together. I say a harsher penalty than the black flag. Suspend the driver who causes the 'big one' for the next plate race. (yes, that means if you cause it in October at Talladega, then you miss the Daytona 500. And don't tell me that you can't always tell who caused it; I believe 90% of the time you can!

Stage racing needs to go, go back to giving points for leading a lap, and so many points for leading the most laps. If you want to award points at different stages, do it, but don't throw the caution flag. I am guessing stage racing is all made for TV so they can get commercials in. Stages need to go!!!!

I'm with Dale on this. Do away with "stages". NASCAR's idea behind "stage" was to benefit sponsors, that's all. Kinda like kids Tee ball with "participation" trophy's. NASCAR wants to make it like "everyone's a winner", & "see, we won a stage". And like when TV used to say "so & so "won" practice or "won" qualifying. It's a bunch of crap. Like Richard said, the race is 500 miles, just RUN 500 miles to the checkered.

Eric may have not had the car to win but (Bubba) did not have to run him in to the wall I have not seen a hit like that since Dale Earnhardt Bubba should be suspended he did not even lift he just drove him in to the wall
They tried to blame the incident on John Hunter he lifted and also the video I saw did not bump draft him in the corner
NASCAR should look in to Bubba it seems to me he is hitting Eric almost every week

Until the drivers have to lift to make the corners it will not be a race. The driver has to be in control of the car, not the engineers, jmho.
