In as much as you could break this game into "sequences" Sun, Moon and Music Man are the absolute best sections. They just seem so much more cleanly designed than most of the game
after watching many streamers play the game it seems the biggest flaw in the game is what jack says, the game doesn't guide you well. for their first open world kind of game, they did a great job and literally a small update could fix this issue.
@@TheMultiGamerOfficial I think the game auto equips them for you or maybe you have to navigate to the "inventory screen" and then enable it from there...
Honestly though, if you can easily predict a “big twist” like that then it’s not really that big of a twist. Hell even Matpat predicted it before the game even was released. Except the rest of his prediction involved a lot cooler ending than what the game has.
Monty just leaping through the wall was the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen from those that have played this game thus far. I had to pause just to laugh.
I love how when Sean learns about the power cable and how there's something under the plex, he guesses the twist secret with 90% accuracy and then goes "That doesn't make much sense though"
"Thought he said he was a nice guy?" Well, DJ Music Man is, but the security system put him on a new/experimental bouncer mode. With the spectacle of him crawling around, I wish there was actually more of him and significantly less security bots throughout the game.
I feel like the obvious thing to do for that segment would be to have you hiding from music man. Music man could have like spotlight eyes, and you need to hide behind arcade cabinets and stuff to make sure he doesn't see you. That way he actually interacts with the player in a unique way, instead of just throwing chica and monty in there for no reason. I love the music man sequence, it's the ONE moment in the game that actually feels polished and well thought. As cool as DJMM looks crawling around the arcade, I just wished he did more that just that.
Monty has got to be the most broken out of all of them. The Giga thing, the continuous running straight into walls, spawning on top of things, the default pose speed dashing across the screen... there’s a clip where he jumped and then literally hit the roof of the DJ area. Dude’s so busted it’s gone straight from annoying to hilarious.
@@hat7475 And then you have Roxy after her Shattered state. She hones in on the player as soon as they crouch, and during the final boss fight, She causes Freddy to glitch which in return makes it very difficult to deal with both her and Afton at the same time.

Jack really hit the nail on the head with those comments at the end. Especially his comment about good level design guiding you along the path without you realizing it. This game unfortunately does a poor job at guiding and with how much you need to go back and forth between different areas it just ends up seeming like a mess.
The bit at the end is Very Correct - keep Monty, Chica and Roxy in their select areas, and have them be stuck to those areas. If you need a threat for the Atrium, I don't know, maybe implement the villain that was your selling point in advertising (Vanny)? Or implement a new animatronic who you can only fight when Freddy has all the upgrades (let him use Monty's claws in a battle, it'd be cool to implement him into combat). There's just so many issues that would probably have way better solutions than what I can offer - solutions that would've been invented if the game had been giving the development time it needed. Such a shame, because this game is filled with unused potential.
correct. it’s such a shame, and for being in development for so long, it seemed as though they went for a different plot line half way through the development stages ?? obvious things could’ve been avoided if they had properly play tested. even assigning a group of ‘speed runners’, they could identify things within just a little while of gameplay, and some major issues/complications could’ve been completely avoided.
vanny is supposed to appear way more, as seen in a "vanny bar" found in the game files, but they somehow broke it and now vanny only appears like 3 times just for story
Jack a few episodes ago “there doesn’t need to be this much stuff chasing me” Jack now “I want a swarm of these things chasing me, they are the coolest things by far!”
As a person going into video game design, I personally find the whole “animatronics teleporting around” thing to be a rather lazy “solution” to the dumb AI pathfinding problem. It’s generally lazy and often unfair to the player mainly in the case of the security bots alerting the other animatronics to your location. Instead of just making a mad dash to the player giving them a chance to hide, the animatronics just teleport to your location sometimes right behind/in front of the player killing them instantly. To me this design is just lazy
It is, maybe it would be better with more animatronics who can't teleport? It's a big place where realistically only 3 animatronics can run towards you and murder you.
The game was rushed to meet an arbitrary deadline, some weird thing called 'christmas'. That aside, it would've been great if they'd expanded on some key aspects of the lore - namely, each location has its own animatronic mascot-and-caretaker, and the main four are the only ones you'd really see roaming the facility (other than Moon of course). Notably, the animatronics are very badly designed in their AI, it just isn't complete, and yes the teleporting is extremely lazy. They can teleport outside of the intended playable area, leaving them locked outside of the map until they teleport again, and also they can open _any_ door. This includes Freddy - he can open doors locked by any mechanic, provided they're openable at any point throughout the game, if you're not in him. Additionally, the animatronic AI not only cannot reach you, but cannot *see* you if you are on top of anything. Thus, if you jump on top of, say, a couch, a railing, a chair, a desk, a fountain, or whatever else, then whatever was chasing you just... leaves. It's almost annoying. They could've at least explained it somehow - maybe say there's multiple of each with a shared network preventing them from being within sight of each other (neat interaction with Roxy being able to see through walls too), or that a system moves them around through some sort of rail network in the service tunnels. Would've worked well enough. Notably, one glitch, termed by the community as 'Giga Monty', gives Monty a broken, much more effective AI. He sprints nonstop, never doesn't know where you are (as in, he can see you at all times, or at least nearly), even in Freddy, and has a habit of duplicating. This spawns alongside normal Monty, though normal Monty doesn't get these changes with the glitch. To see it, look up the sprintless run of the game, it includes the glitch along with some other nonsense. I will say, the unpredictability of the game's glitches and AI do increase its replay value. Still not the best way to do that. There are many aspects of the game that were left unfinished due to it being rushed. Other than a couple of months of bugfixing, the story was intended to be different - Vanny, her relationship to Vanessa, and the amalgamation that exemplified both her and the other animatronics' less desirable aspects, all of them were supposed to play a far bigger part in the lore. Parts And Service was intended to be comprised of maintenance tunnels which connected every part of the Pizzaplex, as Freddy even outright claims at the beginning, but that was never finished. The tunnels would've been for the most part free of animatronics but instead contain endoskeletons, spicing up the gameplay and allowing you to traverse the map differently and more quickly in exchange for a unique alternate threat. If I was to have an educated guess, each area would have also had its own mascot who had some unique quirk within it, and the 'big three' main ones would've only been able to access their own and some select neutral sort of areas, but this didn't turn out - for instance, there's an empty stage marked as 'out of order' in Bonnie Bowl, or even something like the El Chips mascot could've been an actual animatronic locked to its area. Arcades would've been neutral ground, likely. More unique areas with independent themes, mechanics and mascots would've been included with that but it didn't get finished. After all, Monty replaced Bonnie at one point and was only before that the mascot of the golf course, but this just isn't expanded on. Additionally, more minigames - one message mentions a Chica-themed arcade machine (kitchen scramble or something like that) supposedly moved to Parts And Service would not be turned off, yet it cannot be found nor played (though another can allowing for an alternate false ending). Gator Golf, which is playable, only has 9 holes, yet 18 are in the game and only some are unfinished to a degree, which forced them to not include all of them. Bonnie Bowl was also intended to be playable, but that was cut entirely. Given the amount of maintenance areas including go-karts, likely Roxy Raceway would've been a minigame as well, or perhaps its bumper cars would've. Unfortunately, this game has a _lot_ of wasted potential. I do hope Steelwool Studios remasters and completes it at some point - optimizations, bugfixes, and a rework of mechanics. Would've loved to see an alternate 'true ending route' (the existing one requires you to max upgrade Freddy) where you befriend and fix each of the main animatronics, allowing access to their same abilities, with different boss fight types. That being given as an alternate option allowing you to choose between decommissioning or fixing them would've been great.
The funny thing is that the AI pathfinding could have been way more intense if not for the whole aggro system. Some guy named AstralSpiff accidentally found a way to spawn Montys (yes, plural) with his complex AI stripped that he dubbed "Giga Monty", and because that version of Monty lacked the standard aggro and teleport coding the animatronics have, he runs from his starting location to your location as soon as you get spotted no matter where you are with ridiculous levels of precision.
I love how glitchy, and kinda broken Monty was during the arcade, generators part. It was so funny seeing him sprint, and then dissappear through the walls 🤣
Jack is the first person I've seen who actually remembered to try out Chica's voice box on another animatronic The wording of the instruction card for it really needs changing, because players see the word "stun" and immediately think its function is redundant because the Fazer blaster and fazcam already exist, but in reality the voice box actually sends the animatronics AWAY and its function is pretty much always missed. Telling players that it stuns also makes them not realise they have to use it in a very specific late-game boss battle - I've seen so many playthroughs where people got stuck on that part because the game does a piss poor job at teaching you basic mechanics. It doesn't even tell you that you can use her voice box on certain doors nor are there any obvious indicators that you need something from Chica specifically like the Monty sign on his doors.
@@LyricNear At the [REDACTED] (you know who) bossfight, you can use the voice box stun to send Roxy out of the room, pretty sure this is what OP was referring to

yeah and the one with a missing head represents crying child and the security guard looking one represents Michael since he was the security guard in most of the first few fnaf games
The music man section feels to me what I think this game was meant to be: a small kid evading and outsmarting larger than life animatronics with little more than sheer resourcefulness to aid you in survival. I think that with more focus this could’ve been fantastic for re-invigorating the series. This and a couple other highlight moments in the game showcase the potential of the game. Scaling the game back and building the game around those really good mechanics and moments and cutting out the excess could make this game incredible
I think the arcade section had great potential and some memorable moments. However, the sheer chaos of the amount of enemies in the section makes it impossible to enjoy the area or the music man. Also Monty consistently glitch speeding throughout the map in this section is such a terrible oversight even if it’s hilarious.
Honestly. These kinds of moments come in like late game portion where you are trying to dismantle the animatronics. They are very few and far between but when they happen, they are legitemately great or amazing. Its just a huge shame the devs werent able to fully realise this game. Last minute decisions maybe?

@@epicdude3659 Who knows, maybe it did. Just another thing the developers need to fix, but that doesn't change DJMM being my favorite sequence in the game (mostly due to the music).
I feel like it would be really cool if Security Breach had an actual 6 hour limit where you could just spend 6 hours doing whatever you want instead of following a set list. I also agree with Jack's thoughts at the end too.
I feel like Sun/Moon & DJ MM's sections were the most fun sections of game. It was a nice departure from the usual "run around aimlessly across the giant confusing map" chaos because they were an example of that linear progression. Set in their own areas with clear goals, you finish them and move on. The lights turning off & being hunted by the giant robot were unique and exciting challenges. And honestly the characters were more fun too. In their ridiculously short screentime Sun & DJ left a better impression than other characters who repeat the same 4 voice lines and are constantly in your face lmfao
I find it really interesting that Jack talks about the level design. I've noticed several people going through Roxxie Raceway for the first time making the same mistakes. Everyone goes to the left, misses the head and goes into the fire area. Then having no idea what that is, they backtrack, find the dance pass, then find the cart, THEN have to walk back to the Arcade. It really speaks to how bad the level design is for Roxxie Raceway in particular. Since I've been studying game design the last two years, I've been considering getting the game and playing through it to specifically figure out what is it that is leading people the wrong direction. Sure I could use other people's videos, but it could be the room before Roxxie Raceway, it could be the leading lines of the Raceway itself. I think one of the things that blocks players from wanting to go down the 'right' path toward the go cart first, is that the construction materials look like they block the way. Those items are close enough together that it TELLS the player "Hey, don't go this way. You shouldn't pass." Especially those of us who are used to N64 style level design. Damnit, I'm going to end up buying this game anyway...
Oh tbh Security Breach as a whole is rather unintuitive, but oddly enough feels the need to send the same instruction prompts after the first one has already passed. It’s rather odd how it both gives too much and too little guidance. Also according to the game gregory spends half the night walling around the place, then the other half slaughtering animatronics which is a bit odd

Yeah this game has some really, REALLY interesting ideas but they seem too rushed or slapped together. Like if it was a bit more linear, with what Jack said about the upgrades assisting in conquering the next level, it'd be more fun. There also needs to be more tension, like with less security bots, more danger to the main animatronics, more build up to them getting you too. The main bosses aren't as threatening as they should be. The DJMM boss was a minor thing and it had so much more menace to it then the Roxy thing lol
Agreed. A great example of a well designed horror game was Alien Isolation. The main threat, the alien, was really well programmed to keep the heat and pressure on you to keep the game intense, but back off when it's getting too impeding on your progress. It's really fascinating how that was programmed. And progress in that game was made fairly linear and with a reasonably clear path (without too much hand holding) by having pathways locked behind needing something to get through them that you need to progress to get. While this game certainly has some great concepts in it, they just don't feel as fleshed out. They would've been far better off to put a lot of work in fine tuning the animatronics' behavior, and maybe having an in-game canon reason they can just show up when a security bot spots you. In Alien Isolation, for instance, the Alien crawls through vents, which you can audibly hear. And so, if the alien follows you from zone to zone, it doesn't seem too immersion breaking, and it can't just teleport behind you (okay, technically, it can hop out of a vent next to you if you're not paying attention, but not like this game). Rather than teleporting around, they could have had them have specialized elevators or something that they'd spawn in at when you change zones and get spotted, or perhaps have enough animatronics that each zone can have one of their own. But, if they go with the latter option, it'd be best to have them all have their own special gimmicks. Like music man in the dance club. And progression wise, it's not terrible as is, but it could be better if they had positioned the objectives to flow a bit better with less backtracking, and less likelihood that players would find return routes from in-game events (like the fire room). Most games, if you narratively have to go back through other zones, they have you push forward until you unlock a shortcut to that somewhere you've already been, often with obstacles that you couldn't have surmounted without an item you got after leaving the area. Or the zones you've already been will have changed in some way. This game lacks this. And don't even get me started on the importance of sound design. Sound design makes or breaks games.
Tbh I kinda feel bad for Chica Roxy and Monty. It's not their fault that they've somehow been reprogrammed to hunt and kill Gregory, so it's unfortunate that he has to hurt them in order to get parts from them that'll allow him to escape. I hope at the end of the game they'll be repaired back to normal, assuming he doesn't completely kill them first.

It’s extremely sloppy but feels like they changed something last min and this was the compromise
I feel like steel wool is going to make a huge patch before any dlc
The funny thing is that the AI pathfinding could have been way more intense if not for the whole aggro system. Some guy named AstralSpiff accidentally found a way to spawn Montys (yes, plural) with his complex AI stripped that he dubbed "Giga Monty", and because that version of Monty lacked the standard aggro and teleport coding the animatronics have, he runs from his starting location to your location as soon as you get spotted no matter where you are with ridiculous levels of precision.

Jack is the first person I've seen who actually remembered to try out Chica's voice box on another animatronic
The wording of the instruction card for it really needs changing, because players see the word "stun" and immediately think its function is redundant because the Fazer blaster and fazcam already exist, but in reality the voice box actually sends the animatronics AWAY and its function is pretty much always missed.

The fact that the glitches areNOT CONSISTENT between playthroughs is astounding
right? like Ethan’s double Freddy glitch. has that happened to anyone else?
@@NutBreadMSMC i haven't seen it. what about mark's freddy spinning like a beyblade in the final boss fight lol
@@Roseforthethorns It's awful but hilarious. Freddy has disappeared from the elevator in both Jack's and Mark's playthroughs, though. I love it

Had a thought. After getting Chica's voice box, she's still active, only now she's silent, so you don't know when she's around. With her eyes gone, Roxy is still around, but immune to being stunned with the blaster. Taking their parts actually makes them more dangerous.

I love how in every episode Jack has had a "You know what would be cool?" moment where he accurately predicts things he couldn't possibly know are in the game.
Jack managed to outrun the arcade machines that DJMM threw at him, dang.
Matpat did, too. I don't think it's that hard.

I feel like it would be really cool if Security Breach had an actual 6 hour limit where you could just spend 6 hours doing whatever you want instead of following a set list. I also agree with Jack's thoughts at the end too.
no no no
I think so too!
Though it took me like 14 hours to beat the game so I think that would exceed the 6hour limit

42:09 "That's so dumb, I love it" Security Breach in a nutshell.
HEY, LITTLE GUY
WHO WANTS CANDYYYY?
YOU'RE *NOTHING*
I actually hated the s/m section
The fact freddy unironically goes Why though when you stun him makes all the bugs and glitches in the game forgiveable.

"That's bad conveyance" -Arin Hanson

Sound design makes or breaks games.
dude just read my name
Yeah. And you hardly use the Chica voice box. Makes me sad.
I'm interested in seeing how many more bugs Sean will encounter through his playthrough.
Good question fantasy.

@Jacksеpticeye 🅥 ur not jack so ur correct
the monty bug at the djmm mission had me crying
hoping his ending is less buggy than mark's lol but i guess we'll see
Tbh I kinda feel bad for Chica Roxy and Monty.
26:15 jack has just explained the secret ending to this game. Wow.
Ikr wtf

Also Sean: "I don't know how that'd make sense, but it'd be cool."
Steel Wool Studios: **nervous sweating**
I think the whole "getting the parts makes the animatronics scarier and deadlier" is super cool.
Maybe it would have worked better if they were confined more.
I am actually so surprised that he was able to run away from Music Man on his first try. And somehow he ran past the objects that fall in front of you before they could fall.
This game is so broken and glitchy and I love how Sean takes it in stride. He has some genuinely great reactions to the hilariously absurd things that keep happening and is having fun despite the issues. I'm loving this play through.
Jack: Oh. This is easy.
Also Jack: Misses blue button
Freddy: So Anyway, I started Blasting.
Love how Jack's gone from nitpicking the game every step of the way (even though it totally deserves it) to genuinely being impressed by it.
"dont have to sue her if i just kill her. its as simple as that" He'd make a really good lawyer
8:24 i love this easter egg of the afton family. The reference of them celebrating baby/his daughter's birthday because the present is in front of her is so awesome from the sister location mini game. Love this detail
I realise Jack has actually gotten quite lucky in the game so far, especialy where Monty and Roxy are jumping and glitching though the walls! But still, the game needs a lot of love in terms of bringing it to its full potential.
@MGTOW Entrepreneur to whoever runs this account or made this bot, go to hell
Jack laughing at Roxy getting smacked with a go-kart might be the best reaction I've seen to that cutscene.
