    Dope tutorial man! You know you can also use Rhino with a toon material setting, setting up directly a render with a linework (actually you can also select the thickness of the line)..That's how I use to create these diagrams. But thanks for this tip, it's actually a bit easier than my method :D

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  7 лет назад

      Thanx) Well I only know how to use Maxwell renderer with Rhino, so this is the only way I can do it))) But thanx I will try doing that.
      Actually, I did encounter a problem when the linework would have a different perspective from the render, for some reason the field of view would differ by few degrees.
      I've since switched to Autodesk Revit and Autodesk 3DS MAX (+ Corona renderer), so I don't actually use Rhino anymore. *Except for when I need to work with Grasshopper*

    Great Tutorial, well explained at a good pace! Was wondering if you could go deeper into the render settings you use, can't seem to match them with v-ray! Definitely subscribing!

      Hi, thank you! I'm glad that you've liked it. In terms of rendering, as I've said, in this case, I used Maxwell. I have worked with vRay for a bit, but I've soon discovered Corona Render (3DS MAX exclusive), it's much simpler but you get identical results. So, I'm afraid that I won't be able to help you with vRay settings, but I'm sure there are tutorials on RUclips. Thanx for subscribing!

    lovely tutorial, very well done... just one question, how did you align the model and line drawing, mine seems to be misaligned. thank you.

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад +2

      Hi, thanx. I would make sure that your Maxwell render file settings (or any other render) have the same resolution as your Rhino print file. But you are right even then the perspectives might not align. You just have to play with it in Photoshop and try to fix it using the stamp tool) I've actually switched to 3DS MAX and Corona now. Good luck.

    Thank you very much!! Could you also share your settings on Maxwell, please? I couldn't get the same results with mine. Many thanks in advance!

      Thanks)
      Well, I rendered it almost 2 years ago and I don't really remember the settings.
      I used the "dome" lighting, and I just applied the default grey material. The rest was done in Ps.
      Sorry(

    Great Video. I'm want to learn VRay, but i dont know where to get the software from?. Did you buy yours?

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you. In this particular video, I used Maxwell, because I wanted to try it out (trial version). I actually switched from vRay to Corona about a year ago. It gives the same realistic results, but its MUCH simpler and quicker to set up, plus it has features that vRay doesn't. I have full license, so I don't know where you can get a "Jack Sparrow" version)))

    Awesome Awesome work man! How did you get the thick stroke at the edge? is it another line render?

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  5 лет назад

      No, I just created a white shape (identical to the diagram), added a stroke effect and set the layer to 'multiply' blending mode. But make sure that you've 'restirezed' the layer style because it won't work.

    Hey, quick question...I am using vray with rhino. When doing clay render, how do you achieve that shadows appear so soft with no rough edges. It really gives the diagram some depth! Thanks

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад

      Sorry but I don't use Vray. Back then I used Maxwell. Do not use direct sunlight, if you know how to use HDRi maps then get a cloudy one. Or there is a very crude way to do it, just put a big plane above your model, so that the direct light is blocked, and then just adjust levels in photoshop

    Could you share what font you used in the diagram (for "PUSH")? and is it the same as the font you used for the titles and descriptions on your diagram pages?

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад +1

      The "PUSH" font name is: DEKAR (there is also a thinner version called DEKAR LIGHT)
      The main body font in the portfolio is called ROBOTO.
      I'm working on a new portfolio at the moment and I use AKROBAT font.
      Hope it helps)

    can you please show us how to do the arrows!?

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад +1

      Well, I can, but it's actually quite easy.
      1. You either draw or download the arrow you want.
      2. Select a big soft-edged brush either erase the end or paint it over with black using a mask.
      3. Rotate it along the main axis (sides) BUT DON'T CLICK APPLY just yet.
      4. Go to EDIT>TRANSFORM>SKEW / DISTORT and do what I did with the text at 5:10
      I hope it helps if it doesn't then write me a message on facebook and I'll help you)

    HOW DID U GIVE THE GRADIENT FOR THAT ARROW?????

    • @lets_architecture
      @lets_architecture  6 лет назад

      I've simply erased the back of the arrow using a large soft brush. But I would recommend that you use a mask, as it's a non-destructive editing, and you could always go back to re-edit the arrow. I hope it helps. )
