I passed my test last April & had a GSX1250FA waiting for me at home for my first bike. I covered 8k in 6 months and loved every minute of it last year but felt it was too small for me & my partner so I swapped it out for a ZZR14, Gen1 last November and covered 3.5k already. Never looked back.. The only Bike I would ever consider swapping it for would be a Gen 2. This bike is the only bike for me, what a pleasure it is to own one. Everything you could ever need and more.
I had GSX1250FA as a second bike and loved it as much as you did, then I went with ZZR1200 and that thing was very thrilling to ride and a lot of fun, but in the end I decided to swap it for GTR1400 and I love it to bits :-)
@@georgeo1111 Hi Pavol. I did look at the GTR1400 but my friend rides a blackbird and couldn't live without the power plus when I'm not out with the bird I throw my bird on the back and can go anywhere still in decent comfort so best of both worlds and why I love the zed so much. 👊

I had a ZZR 14 The best tourer I have owned. Tick over too 200 MPH. A tank bag helps take the weight off your hands. I did a 1000 kms in a day trip from Kelowna British Columbia to the USA. No time on board was ever boring. Thanks for posting my friend Ride Safe Stay Safe Stay Free
Personally, Kawasaki mad an icon in regards to this bike. Fast, touring, comfortable...it's amazing how big this bike is yet, how well it handles and how it gets up to speed so quickly. Love this bike!!
I purchased new and owned a 2007 ZX-14 for several years. being 6'-4" I found it more comfortable to ride then the Hayabusa. I road it all over and around Los Angeles and found it to be quite tame. Now it does have a lot of power when you want it but at 40 I did not feel the need to scream around town, however I did enjoy the occasional wrap of the wrist. Now at 55 I'm thinking about getting another one to go with the Vulcan 2000 I currently own. Thanks for putting this out there as I believe most who have never been on one think the bike is just for those craving high speeds.
I rode my first ZX14 when I purchased my 2007 brand new. Had never ridden one before. It's an easy bike to ride. Very smooth and comfortable. The more you twist the throttle the faster you go. I liked it so much that I bought a ZX14R when they came out in 2012. I wish Kawasaki would do an update on it.
Cheers for this 👍 I can wholeheartedly confirm that the ZZR 1400 Performance Sport is probably the most fun bike ever. I considered the Z1000sx and the H2SX but sat close to each other on the showroom floor the others just seemed like dinky toys. A properly padded spacious seat for both rider and pillion makes long rides almost effortless. I own the last registered bike in Europe. I'm no spring chicken and it is a heavy bike but its weight actually adds stability. Once you've owned one, you might own other bikes which come and go but you'll only ever replace the ZZR with a newer model 😀
@@lsixty30 The 2020 model of the ZZR1400 ( ZX14 in some countries usually with a different colour scheme) was the last one sold in Europe. I think Kawasaki didn't want to alter their flag ship model to confirm to Euro emissions regulations. This requires a larger capacity to get the same power also quieter exhausts. So although still sold in the USA ( mostly due to pressurising Kawasaki higher archy due to its drag racing popularity) and also Australia and the far East. It may not be long before it disappears from sale globally. I put a deposit down on one of the few remaining bikes in the UK in August 2020. Inheritance from my late father was to fund it's purchase. Delays in finalising my father's estate led to a delay in paying the balance. I continued to add to the deposit and the dealer was very good holding the bike for me. By this time they were sold out elsewhere and Kawasaki were asking for it back as it still appeared on the dealership inventory. Finally I had the money to buy it out right but the dealer advised holding off untill the September 2021 new registrations. This guaranteed it being the last ZZR1400 registered not just in the UK but in Europe as there were none more available. I hope this explains how it is in fact the last of its kind sold and registered from new. Thank you for your question and kind reply. Cracking video, all of this can be applied to the Busa, these bikes are very heavy but the seat is low (Busa is 815mm, i think the ZZR is a bit lower ?), all the weight is low down so they are easy to handle. I'm a novice rider, passed my Mod2 aged 50 in Feb 2020, got my Gen 1 Busa in September last year, it's just lovely, power is only there if you want it, delivery is silky smooth and linear, very easy to control and ride at low speeds. With the right mature, healthy attitude, some restraint, these bikes are fine for a novice rider (maybe not a total beginner), they are just wonderful on the road, long trips are a breeze, very flexible gearing, nearly impossible to stall (which was an issue with my GSXR600 first few times out). I know there are two camps for the Busa and ZZR1400 but i love both.
Had a Blackbird and changed the front sprocket for one with two teeth less - to increase acceleration. I reckon it was as fast as the ZZR in acceleration up to 100 mph. Blackbird is one hell of a bike but the riding position is more aggressive than the ZZR.
I ride it, and love it. Just had my zzr1400 for just about 90 days, and driven 5,500km on it. I used to ride the VN2000, so this is totally different style. But now i can brake and turn with no problems😄. The ZZR1400 handels so well, love it😎
i made my zx14r more user friendly. swapped on a zero gravity touring windshield, 1" billet bar risers, billet shorty levers, tpms sensors, phone mount, shinko apex 010 tires (far superior to the bridgestones that came stock), delkevic exhaust and a moore mafia ecu tune.
it's the alarm that drains the battery. I had the same on my GSXR 1000. . My ZZR1400 has no alarm and no battery draining issues. To be honest I found the alarm to be nothing but a nuisance.
Thanks for the review. It was very helpful. I've been off bikes for 11 years and have just bought a ZZR14 which i will be collecting in a few days. I've had the ZZR11 and 6 before, a TL1000R and GSXR750 so glad to hear its easy to ride so i can slowly build up my confidence again.
Definitely part two with your wife's dad on the BigZed. Quick tip...turn the handle bars fully to the right,makes the bike easier to pick up off the stand.
What a fantastic video, you have to ride it to really experience what a beautiful bike this is.. I've had mine for 2 years, I've used her for going to work and fun rides, not toured on her yet, thanks to covid and now ridiculous petrol prices. The bike is a long bike, so sharp corners won't be taken as easy as a smaller bike, however, the long gears make standard corners easier than one may expect for a bike this size, you can lean into the corners very easy. The foot pegs are a little high for my 6.2 height and the mpg are 35 mpg so a thirsty machine, but don't let this put you off. The beast is a keeper.. For everyday riding, I use my traction on full power traction 2.. This gives you the power when you need and. Is a little easier on the fuel, turn the traction off or put it on 1 and you have a rocket launcher. My partner loves the bike and loves being a passenger, but not on full sport mode 😂.. It is a weighty machine, but the beast is surprisingly, light to ride, or so. It feels. Crash bungs, sliders is a must, I was cleaning my bike a few weeks ago, in my back yard, which has very uneven ground and the bike went over, the bungs /sliders, saved me loads of money. The bike turns heads wherever I go and have had many a compliment even from non bikers. I love this bike and it is the overall best bike I've ever had and would strongly recommend the hayabusa killer to anyone, a fun bike but also a serious bike, not for the inexperienced. She's a keeper...
Hi Snakeman, I'm sure we crossed paths a good while back, I told you I'd put a deposit down on the last available ZZR 1400 in the UK, you asked me to give you an update. I've owned the bike now since last September, the dealer suggested I wait for the 71 plates guaranteeing it being the last registered in the UK probably Europe as well. I had already purchased a private plate with a rather appropriate number and lettering. Absolutely loving the bike, as does my wife who rides pillion, I fitted a top box with back rest to help her feel secure. Unfortunately audio has been a huge issue in the videos, wind noise can also be overbearing at National speeds 😉. I've fitted a Zero Gravity touring screen which helps lift wind a bit. I took it on an Epic run up and down Glen Quaich, taking it steady as the road is gravel strewn single track with seriously steep hairpins. The views were simply stunning but if I'm honest for those hairpins I'd have rather been on my FZ1-S. Hope your doing well and thanks for your support back then 👍

What did you use for the top box fittings as I believe there is no direct zzr1400 fittings for top boxes and panniers. Just out of interest, is there a reason the other bike you had worked better for you in certain situations? Comfort? I've also added extras to my bike which was also the last zzr1400, 2020, I got the standard one, not the sport.. Even though there wasn't much between them other than the price and slightly better looking. I've had a USB fitted, crash bungs. Tracker, switched the sport tires for sport touring and I want to change the cans to a more sportier look. When the petrol prices come. Down, I would love to go around Wales on the beast and also visit Scotland. Thanks for the update, I really appreciate it.. 👍👍
@@snakeman9902 The dealer wanted to fit the SW Motek rail which fits over the rear grab rail but requires holes drilled in the rear seat panels. I found a Givi one which mounts from the rear footrests, then you need the mounting plate suited to your top box which covers the rear grab rail. I wanted the low profile top box, Givi or Shad but the dealer fitted one slightly less streamlined but was able to fit it with a matching lid in green gold flake. I had them fit Oxford heated grips ( bought from eBay off a 2019 so they had the throttle body already glued on) I also had Crash bungs fitted at the front, I've yet to get the exhaust protector bung and wheel bungs. I bought and had them fit a Healtec thunderbox under the seat which allows 4 or 8 in my case wired connections for various devices. I've fitted rim tapes with ZZR 1400 and also a rather nifty mounting bar which bridges the handlebar yoke to which I clamp my camera and Sat Nav. Recently I added the Zero Gravity touring screen which helps lift some of the turbulent wind to the top of my head. There's a video on RUclips I think by BigBike UK or something fitting the top box, so he shows you both alternatives and gives the model number. If you want to see my videos please click on the Scotland icon, that'll take you to my channel. It's had its birthing pangs but I'm getting there. On it you'll also find my playlists of other videos among which is one all about the ZZR 1400 including the top box fit. The reason I'd have preferred my other bike is not comfort but lighter smaller easier handling, when you see the hairpins you'll understand. I plan to fit Road 5's but only when the Bridgestone are worn out due to cost. Hope you make it up to Scotland, keep in touch I'll be happy to meet up with you and show you some sights 👍 p.s. panniers also have options but I dislike the framework. SW Motek "Blaze" do soft luggage with a removable attachment arm but nearly £300, I bought second hand Oxford Ninja bags and the arms of the Givi rail serves as a hook up and barrier from tyre rub.
@@michaellilley6725 Yeah. I can imagine what you mean, small tight roads with tight turns. The zzr1400 wasn't designed for that type of travel and I have mentioned this before, it is a large, long heavy bike, all though my blackbird was longer and taller, but the blackie, Busa, zzr1400 are all designed for a separate purpose, hard working reliable, road munching miles at speed, it's why they fair better at drag racing.. I've been Scotland many times, the lakes and Scotland are my favourite places, my last holiday was at Ben Nevis.. So yeah. No problem having a catch up and meet if I pop over again.. Your bike is stunning by the way, with the better exhausts, that's why I want to change mine.. Respect 👍👍

2009 zx14 se. secondary butterflies and pair valve removed. +2 back sprocket. pcv with autotune and speedo healer. Such an easy bike to ride smoothly both at slow speeds and of course higher ones. Great torque.. stalling? what is that? Want to get and go in any gear and any rpm - no problems. Oh and going with a 55 in stead of the 50 on the rear makes cornering beautiful. Want a long distance sport bike. This is it.
Had one 2 yrs now...The clutch is no problem i find. Plenty of low down power....At low revs. You never feel the need to work the engine hard...Which is what I wanted.
Got my license, rode a cbr250 for 2 years then bought a 14r. Best advice I was given was “roll your wrist back before you grab the throttle” and “if you are turning and you think you’re going too fast and want to stand it up and brake DON’T, you’re nowhere near its limits”
Great video from across the pond' I had the exact same experience when I got a texted picture of my 22' H2 SX-SE from my salesman as a cancelled order from another customer - Never test rode it just threw my wallet at him immediately - Kawasaki really knows what there doing on these monster bikes as they are in no way intimidating to drive on the daily - Between it and my Goldwing I'm covered '

I've often wondered if the ZH2 would be a better bike for me but I can't see anything touching the big Z 😉 There is also a clutch modification that will make it lighter 👍 Oberon I believe.
The best bike ever ! I bought one new in 2020 (last MY in Europe because of Euro 5) and I would not change it ! So comfy (also for my wife with a comfort seat), powerful and manageable. The only negative point is the weight when you stop and ride under 10 MPH. But after that, you don’t feel the weight anymore. I ❤ it !
I always take the baffle out of new bikes so other motorists hear me coming. I think the push to silence motorbikes makes them a lot less safer. I wouldn't touch an E-bike for this reason. People ahead of me move out the way when they hear me coming leaving me a clear path.
Would definitely love to see that vid putting a beginner on the zzr. I am in love with my 07 Busa but I admire the ZZR1200 and 1400 and I'm eager to try at least one of them.
I have a Hayabusa and I love it! The ZZR1400 is also very awesome. Actually I could imagine to switch to Kawasaki but I do the maintenance by myself. The Hayabusa is annoying enough on that point but I heard, the ZZR1400 is even worse 😅

I've got VFR 1200 FD and recently got myself into feeling that it doesn't scare me anymore, all those 173hp became so natural and normal to me... but also I love heavy sport touring bikes with that long wheelbase. So google told me that I have to look up for a Busa or ZX14r (H2 is too expensive for me). I really don't like Hayabusa for its design and also ZX14r has more power and torque. Long story short - selling my 1200 right now and looking for a bike on Japaneese auctions, hopefully next season there will be Kawasaki powered already :) Thanks for your videos and thoughts on this bike, helped a lot! 🙏🔥

It always temps you. Like you said... keep keep your head and you keep the rest of your body and the bike, too. I'm 60yo now, 5'9" and 140 pounds wet. It's the last bike I'll ever own. Cheers!
The road holding on mine was superb but what got me was the weight off it at slow riding but at 3000 revs =70mph 5000=100 and all the way as long as you can hold onto it it needs a screen too too blow the air over the top because above 100mph it gets difficult to hold onto it I was imprest by the power but kawasaki had a boast if the road from London to Glasgow was straigh enough you would get to either point in 2 hrs
Did have a ancestor tothis a ZX10 1988, plan to pick up a used ZZR1100 next year, if i find any good, ok ZZR1400 is probely a beast in compare but also expensive
I would say this bike is sweet but the same time a lot to handle. To me, as a less experianced rider, the power and torque seems "infinite". It is kind of controlable in low rpms and I would strongly recommend to anyone with no sport bike skills to stay there for a while... Other than that, it is pleasure to look at pleasure to own and awsome challenge to master the ride.
Piss your pants scary! That is what it is like. In 1984, my V65 Magna had insane acceleration as does my Suzuki Bandit 1200S. Any liter sport bike has it.
Same as my bought new 2017 (slightly different colour) and the first thing you notice is the first gear grunch and the temp gauge quickly hitting >90 degrees in town... Corrosion is an issue on the satin black painted bits and fasteners. Annoying! Great bike though! Awesome power and handling. I would have bought another new one in 2020 BUT they fucking discontinued it! (Thanks EU!!) I've heard rumours of a ZZR15 turbo but let's see...
N400 is a perfect bike to learn on; very forgiving and not too heavy to walk around. Good place to learn your shifting, cornering etc. And unlike a 250 the 400 does 180+kmph.
😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴 just pull back the throttle at 130 mph, drop a gear and totally go for it😶 in the rain at 120mph you can spin the rear wheel and sit at 140mph in a straight line on the autobahns and just 😊, then back off and cruise at 90mph. Zzr14 and hayabusa are the ultimate bikes
What do you think to jump into this zzr1400 after a 2 years begginer motorcycle driver licence with an er6f . I love thoses sports gt motor. Is it possible if i take it easy at the begging to drive it ?
I actually went from an ER6f to the ZZR, it wasn't a difficult transition for me, however you need to be significantly more conscious of the throttle, a little throttle goes a long way on the ZZR1400. I had been riding my ER6 for nearly 10 years, so I pretty much knew my comfort zone in terms of riding limits. Having that experience was key to my transition I think. Personally, if you have less than 4-5 years riding experience, I wouldn't recommend a motorcycle like this, or even a 1000 super sport for that matter as these kinds of bikes can be very difficult to control if you're a little too eager on the throttle. If I were in your position, I'd recommend either staying on your ER6 for a couple more years, or if you really would like something with a bit more power, looking at a 600 super sport (CBR600RR, ZX-6R, R6, GSXR 600 etc.). They're a good stepping stone to the likes of 1000cc+ sport bikes. Or, if you're looking for something more inline with the ER6, you could look at some 1000 sport tourers/nakeds (e.g. Ninja 1000 SX/Z1000/GXS-S1000), they'll produce a little more power to 600 super sports, but they have significantly more torque to play with, which makes them a load of fun on the street. I'd recommend a bike with a power output between 120 - 140 hp for your next bike, then after a couple of years on that, you could look at a ZZR1400 for sure. I hope that helps 🙂👍
I HATE YOU!!!...I'm an aging Superbike rider that was considering the new 2022 Harley low rider s/st to wean myself off of the speed and full exhaust sound (it's addicting). My stubborn gut tells me to get a 2022 busa. Having owned a 78 kz1000 and 86 gsxr1100. Suzuki/Kawasaki have always been my favorite. Watching your excellent post on the zx14 is throwing a monkey wrench into an already complicated decision. As of this post I've pushed the Harley aside and considering a busa or zx14. If the zx14 had cruise control it would be a definite choice. The engine case is also kind of a turnoff. I'll probably never dig into the motor but no jugs in the midsection is odd to me. Expensive decision and I want to get it right so there's no buyer remorse. Thoroughly enjoy your post on the bike...
It won't be long before vids of the ZX14R...will be found in the History Section...As Evolution goes, the H2 will be Kawasakis flagship bike...but for us true old-school sport bike enthusiast's superchargers and turbos will never better pure Raw Power from a naturally aspirated big "CC" engine...it's sad to us,..
The problem with the H2 is that for me, its just a drag bike. It's too heavy to be "sporty", like other liter bikes. It's not as comfy as the ZX-14/Busa for long distance and the fuel consumption is horrendous. It's neither here nor there.

You need some mods.
1) LSL ABM Bar riser kit
2) Healtech or another up/down Quickshifter
3) Givi luggage rack for touring (10kg capacity)

Zzr is better
Had a Blackbird and changed the front sprocket for one with two teeth less - to increase acceleration. I reckon it was as fast as the ZZR in acceleration up to 100 mph. Blackbird is one hell of a bike but the riding position is more aggressive than the ZZR.
I ride it, and love it. Just had my zzr1400 for just about 90 days, and driven 5,500km on it. I used to ride the VN2000, so this is totally different style. But now i can brake and turn with no problems😄. The ZZR1400 handels so well, love it😎
i made my zx14r more user friendly. swapped on a zero gravity touring windshield, 1" billet bar risers, billet shorty levers, tpms sensors, phone mount, shinko apex 010 tires (far superior to the bridgestones that came stock), delkevic exhaust and a moore mafia ecu tune.
it's the alarm that drains the battery. I had the same on my GSXR 1000. . My ZZR1400 has no alarm and no battery draining issues. To be honest I found the alarm to be nothing but a nuisance.

I've been off bikes for 11 years and have just bought a ZZR14 which i will be collecting in a few days.
I've had the ZZR11 and 6 before, a TL1000R and GSXR750 so glad to hear its easy to ride so i can slowly build up my confidence again.

Quick tip...turn the handle bars fully to the right,makes the bike easier to pick up off the stand.

What a fantastic video, you have to ride it to really experience what a beautiful bike this is..
I've had mine for 2 years, I've used her for going to work and fun rides, not toured on her yet, thanks to covid and now ridiculous petrol prices.
The bike is a long bike, so sharp corners won't be taken as easy as a smaller bike, however, the long gears make standard corners easier than one may expect for a bike this size, you can lean into the corners very easy.
The foot pegs are a little high for my 6.2 height and the mpg are 35 mpg so a thirsty machine, but don't let this put you off. The beast is a keeper..
For everyday riding, I use my traction on full power traction 2.. This gives you the power when you need and. Is a little easier on the fuel, turn the traction off or put it on 1 and you have a rocket launcher. My partner loves the bike and loves being a passenger, but not on full sport mode 😂..
It is a weighty machine, but the beast is surprisingly, light to ride, or so. It feels. Crash bungs, sliders is a must, I was cleaning my bike a few weeks ago, in my back yard, which has very uneven ground and the bike went over, the bungs /sliders, saved me loads of money.
The bike turns heads wherever I go and have had many a compliment even from non bikers.
I love this bike and it is the overall best bike I've ever had and would strongly recommend the hayabusa killer to anyone, a fun bike but also a serious bike, not for the inexperienced.

Hi Snakeman, I'm sure we crossed paths a good while back, I told you I'd put a deposit down on the last available ZZR 1400 in the UK, you asked me to give you an update. I've owned the bike now since last September, the dealer suggested I wait for the 71 plates guaranteeing it being the last registered in the UK probably Europe as well. I had already purchased a private plate with a rather appropriate number and lettering.
Absolutely loving the bike, as does my wife who rides pillion, I fitted a top box with back rest to help her feel secure. Unfortunately audio has been a huge issue in the videos, wind noise can also be overbearing at National speeds 😉. I've fitted a Zero Gravity touring screen which helps lift wind a bit.
I took it on an Epic run up and down Glen Quaich, taking it steady as the road is gravel strewn single track with seriously steep hairpins. The views were simply stunning but if I'm honest for those hairpins I'd have rather been on my FZ1-S. Hope your doing well and thanks for your support back then 👍

Just out of interest, is there a reason the other bike you had worked better for you in certain situations? Comfort?
I've also added extras to my bike which was also the last zzr1400, 2020, I got the standard one, not the sport.. Even though there wasn't much between them other than the price and slightly better looking.
I've had a USB fitted, crash bungs. Tracker, switched the sport tires for sport touring and I want to change the cans to a more sportier look.
When the petrol prices come. Down, I would love to go around Wales on the beast and also visit Scotland.

@@snakeman9902 The dealer wanted to fit the SW Motek rail which fits over the rear grab rail but requires holes drilled in the rear seat panels. I found a Givi one which mounts from the rear footrests, then you need the mounting plate suited to your top box which covers the rear grab rail. I wanted the low profile top box, Givi or Shad but the dealer fitted one slightly less streamlined but was able to fit it with a matching lid in green gold flake.
I had them fit Oxford heated grips ( bought from eBay off a 2019 so they had the throttle body already glued on) I also had Crash bungs fitted at the front, I've yet to get the exhaust protector bung and wheel bungs. I bought and had them fit a Healtec thunderbox under the seat which allows 4 or 8 in my case wired connections for various devices. I've fitted rim tapes with ZZR 1400 and also a rather nifty mounting bar which bridges the handlebar yoke to which I clamp my camera and Sat Nav.
Recently I added the Zero Gravity touring screen which helps lift some of the turbulent wind to the top of my head. There's a video on RUclips I think by BigBike UK or something fitting the top box, so he shows you both alternatives and gives the model number. If you want to see my videos please click on the Scotland icon, that'll take you to my channel. It's had its birthing pangs but I'm getting there. On it you'll also find my playlists of other videos among which is one all about the ZZR 1400 including the top box fit.
The reason I'd have preferred my other bike is not comfort but lighter smaller easier handling, when you see the hairpins you'll understand. I plan to fit Road 5's but only when the Bridgestone are worn out due to cost. Hope you make it up to Scotland, keep in touch I'll be happy to meet up with you and show you some sights 👍 p.s. panniers also have options but I dislike the framework. SW Motek "Blaze" do soft luggage with a removable attachment arm but nearly £300, I bought second hand Oxford Ninja bags and the arms of the Givi rail serves as a hook up and barrier from tyre rub.
@@michaellilley6725 Yeah. I can imagine what you mean, small tight roads with tight turns. The zzr1400 wasn't designed for that type of travel and I have mentioned this before, it is a large, long heavy bike, all though my blackbird was longer and taller, but the blackie, Busa, zzr1400 are all designed for a separate purpose, hard working reliable, road munching miles at speed, it's why they fair better at drag racing..
I've been Scotland many times, the lakes and Scotland are my favourite places, my last holiday was at Ben Nevis.. So yeah. No problem having a catch up and meet if I pop over again..
Your bike is stunning by the way, with the better exhausts, that's why I want to change mine..

2009 zx14 se. secondary butterflies and pair valve removed. +2 back sprocket. pcv with autotune and speedo healer. Such an easy bike to ride smoothly both at slow speeds and of course higher ones. Great torque.. stalling? what is that? Want to get and go in any gear and any rpm - no problems. Oh and going with a 55 in stead of the 50 on the rear makes cornering beautiful. Want a long distance sport bike. This is it.
Had one 2 yrs now...The clutch is no problem i find.
Plenty of low down power....At low revs. You never feel the need to work the engine hard...Which is what I wanted.

Got my license, rode a cbr250 for 2 years then bought a 14r. Best advice I was given was “roll your wrist back before you grab the throttle” and “if you are turning and you think you’re going too fast and want to stand it up and brake DON’T, you’re nowhere near its limits”
Great video from across the pond' I had the exact same experience when I got a texted picture of my 22' H2 SX-SE from my salesman as a cancelled order from another customer - Never test rode it just threw my wallet at him immediately - Kawasaki really knows what there doing on these monster bikes as they are in no way intimidating to drive on the daily - Between it and my Goldwing I'm covered '

I've often wondered if the ZH2 would be a better bike for me but I can't see anything touching the big Z 😉 There is also a clutch modification that will make it lighter 👍 Oberon I believe.
The best bike ever ! I bought one new in 2020 (last MY in Europe because of Euro 5) and I would not change it ! So comfy (also for my wife with a comfort seat), powerful and manageable. The only negative point is the weight when you stop and ride under 10 MPH. But after that, you don’t feel the weight anymore. I ❤ it !

I always take the baffle out of new bikes so other motorists hear me coming. I think the push to silence motorbikes makes them a lot less safer. I wouldn't touch an E-bike for this reason. People ahead of me move out the way when they hear me coming leaving me a clear path.

I have a Hayabusa and I love it! The ZZR1400 is also very awesome. Actually I could imagine to switch to Kawasaki but I do the maintenance by myself. The Hayabusa is annoying enough on that point but I heard, the ZZR1400 is even worse 😅

I've got VFR 1200 FD and recently got myself into feeling that it doesn't scare me anymore, all those 173hp became so natural and normal to me... but also I love heavy sport touring bikes with that long wheelbase.
So google told me that I have to look up for a Busa or ZX14r (H2 is too expensive for me).
I really don't like Hayabusa for its design and also ZX14r has more power and torque.
Long story short - selling my 1200 right now and looking for a bike on Japaneese auctions, hopefully next season there will be Kawasaki powered already :)

It always temps you. Like you said... keep keep your head and you keep the rest of your body and the bike, too. I'm 60yo now, 5'9" and 140 pounds wet. It's the last bike I'll ever own. Cheers!
The road holding on mine was superb but what got me was the weight off it at slow riding but at 3000 revs =70mph 5000=100 and all the way as long as you can hold onto it it needs a screen too too blow the air over the top because above 100mph it gets difficult to hold onto it I was imprest by the power but kawasaki had a boast if the road from London to Glasgow was straigh enough you would get to either point in 2 hrs
Did have a ancestor tothis a ZX10 1988, plan to pick up a used ZZR1100 next year, if i find any good, ok ZZR1400 is probely a beast in compare but also expensive

I would say this bike is sweet but the same time a lot to handle. To me, as a less experianced rider, the power and torque seems "infinite". It is kind of controlable in low rpms and I would strongly recommend to anyone with no sport bike skills to stay there for a while... Other than that, it is pleasure to look at pleasure to own and awsome challenge to master the ride.
Piss your pants scary! That is what it is like. In 1984, my V65 Magna had insane acceleration as does my Suzuki Bandit 1200S. Any liter sport bike has it.
I really do not use brakes much for speed control while riding, how is the engine braking?

Same as my bought new 2017 (slightly different colour) and the first thing you notice is the first gear grunch and the temp gauge quickly hitting >90 degrees in town... Corrosion is an issue on the satin black painted bits and fasteners. Annoying!

If you a beginner to riding a motorcycle which model do you recommend? the ninja 400?
N400 is a perfect bike to learn on; very forgiving and not too heavy to walk around.
Good place to learn your shifting, cornering etc. And unlike a 250 the 400 does 180+kmph.
But do you have to pull that throttle back?

😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴 just pull back the throttle at 130 mph, drop a gear and totally go for it😶 in the rain at 120mph you can spin the rear wheel and sit at 140mph in a straight line on the autobahns and just 😊, then back off and cruise at 90mph. Zzr14 and hayabusa are the ultimate bikes

What do you think to jump into this zzr1400 after a 2 years begginer motorcycle driver licence with an er6f . I love thoses sports gt motor. Is it possible if i take it easy at the begging to drive it ?
I actually went from an ER6f to the ZZR, it wasn't a difficult transition for me, however you need to be significantly more conscious of the throttle, a little throttle goes a long way on the ZZR1400.
I had been riding my ER6 for nearly 10 years, so I pretty much knew my comfort zone in terms of riding limits. Having that experience was key to my transition I think. Personally, if you have less than 4-5 years riding experience, I wouldn't recommend a motorcycle like this, or even a 1000 super sport for that matter as these kinds of bikes can be very difficult to control if you're a little too eager on the throttle.
If I were in your position, I'd recommend either staying on your ER6 for a couple more years, or if you really would like something with a bit more power, looking at a 600 super sport (CBR600RR, ZX-6R, R6, GSXR 600 etc.). They're a good stepping stone to the likes of 1000cc+ sport bikes. Or, if you're looking for something more inline with the ER6, you could look at some 1000 sport tourers/nakeds (e.g. Ninja 1000 SX/Z1000/GXS-S1000), they'll produce a little more power to 600 super sports, but they have significantly more torque to play with, which makes them a load of fun on the street. I'd recommend a bike with a power output between 120 - 140 hp for your next bike, then after a couple of years on that, you could look at a ZZR1400 for sure. I hope that helps 🙂👍

I HATE YOU!!!...I'm an aging Superbike rider that was considering the new 2022 Harley low rider s/st to wean myself off of the speed and full exhaust sound (it's addicting). My stubborn gut tells me to get a 2022 busa. Having owned a 78 kz1000 and 86 gsxr1100. Suzuki/Kawasaki have always been my favorite.
Watching your excellent post on the zx14 is throwing a monkey wrench into an already complicated decision. As of this post I've pushed the Harley aside and considering a busa or zx14. If the zx14 had cruise control it would be a definite choice. The engine case is also kind of a turnoff. I'll probably never dig into the motor but no jugs in the midsection is odd to me.
Expensive decision and I want to get it right so there's no buyer remorse.
Thoroughly enjoy your post on the bike...

It won't be long before vids of the ZX14R...will be found in the History Section...As Evolution goes, the H2 will be Kawasakis flagship bike...but for us true old-school sport bike enthusiast's superchargers and turbos will never better pure Raw Power from a naturally aspirated big "CC" engine...it's sad to us,..
The problem with the H2 is that for me, its just a drag bike. It's too heavy to be "sporty", like other liter bikes. It's not as comfy as the ZX-14/Busa for long distance and the fuel consumption is horrendous. It's neither here nor there.
I do confess, it's a bike I always wanted to throw a leg over 🙂
