Excellent tutorial there. Its all simple math but is always a bit tricky to figure out if you dont apply liquids very often. Lol, and I always have to look up how much things weigh, gallons, quarts, etc. Good tip also is for those gallon jugs stick some masking tape on the side where you mark down how much you already used. Helps to add up the nitrogen applied throughout the season.
Thanks dude, I tried to make the calculations as simple as possible because it’s seems people make it out to be more complicated then it is. And thanks for the tip!
Thanks to you I have a new mower and backpack sprayer. Now I gotta change the way I fertilize. Thanks a lot pal. I'm not letting my wife watch your channel anymore. lol(jk)
.25 lb of spray able AMS is quite high as AMS is available to the grass immediately. If you do spray .25 lbs than be sure to water it in right away. If I where you I would bump it down to .15 lbs which would be roughly 12oz of AMS mixed in 1 gallon of water per 1k sqft. As far as calculation, AMS is 21-0-0 which means it’s 21% nitrogen ie 1 pound of AMS = .21 lb of total N
George, do you use only a backpack sprayer for liquid products or do you also use a hose end sprayer? I have both and I often wonder if there is an advantage to using one over the other.
hi John, i use both but latley ive been using mostly backpack sprayers because all my hose end sprayers keep clogging. but the major benefit to using a backpack sprayer is that its much more accurate (and clogs less hahah)
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Thanks, I sent an email to YardMastery to get clarification. I have high pH so the soil absorption is poor which is why I prefer foliar absorption.
🤯. I was given a 2.5 gallon jug of 10-10-10 No specs for per 1000 sq or gallon.. I’d be using back pack sprayer What do u recommend. I use per 1000 sq and per gallon of water
Hi, thank you, I’m trying to head my head around this.. you say use 4oz/ gallon water which is 0.04 lbs pure nitrogen/ gallon of water..BUT WHAT AREA DO WE APPLY THIS? What form of nitrogen would you recommend? Thanks.
128 ounces on that bottle is volume, not weight. I have one gallon of 18-0-0, and it weighs 10.5 lbs, not 8 lbs. I bet your one gallon also weighs more than 8 gallons. Wayer weighs eight gallons, but that's when it's only water. Your fert has other substances in it that are dissolved in it that make it weigh more.
LMAO😂..... 128 ounces is how much ounces are in 1 gallon. So the label is not telling you how much it weights, is telling you that 1 gallon is 128 Fluid ounces. Liquid should not be confused between weight and volume. 1 gallon of liquid is usually a bit more of 10 lbs at it highest density depending on temperature. To figure out the weigh, you have to actually weight the liquid. That's why in cooking, they have fluid and dry measuring cups. Just to g8ve you a rough example, 1 gallon of honey, is gonna weight significantly more than 1 gallon of water. Geez 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Good info, and to the point. I made a liquid nitrogen calculator that may also be helpful.

Sweet! I’ll pin this comment in case anyone who lands here wants to check it out:)
Princess Cut Lawn Care sweet thanks!

Can you make one for water soluble fertilizer like a 21-0-0 50lb bag?
George you do a great job explaining the liquid application. Thanks
Thanks grace tried to make it as simple as possible
George with the sweet mood lighting! Lol nice work as usual. Always impressed with your videos dude 💯
Lol thanks dude! im have some ideas planned for the winter season so im trying to get my lighting right, im glad you dig the vibes!
Great video and explaining
So well explained thank you for the helpful information!
Thank you sir:)
Great Advice! Appreciate your videos.
Thank you Jeremy! Thanks for watching:)

Lol 1 step at a time bud, but those are 2 great things to step up your lawn game;) my wife doesn’t like watching my videos either😆😆😆
Good info buddy!
Thanks dude!
Is this the same fomula to figure water soluble fertilizer? TIA
Good Stuff! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you sir🤝
🌞Awesome! Great information! Thank you for sharing, how's that yard looking?🌞
Lookin pretty darn awesome:) thanks for asking :)
I have the high yield ammonium sulfate I wanted to dissolve it into a spray I have 400 Sq ft, can you help me?
6 oz per 400 sqft will give you the equiv of ~ .15lb of N per 1ksqft
So I bought gravity a fertilizer 20-20-20 how would I calculate that? It’s a bag which weighs 25lbs. How would I get the gallons?
Going to try using def after watching your video but confused on rate how many ounces to a gallon?
I have 21-0-0 AS that I am spraying and want to know how to calculate it. I want to put down .25lb per 1000sqft. It’s a 50lb bag.
.25 lb of spray able AMS is quite high as AMS is available to the grass immediately.

Fast and Easy. That's what I like. PITTL
No diggity no doubt. I’m bout to bag it up.
Why did you say to water it in towards the end of the video? It’s a foliar application absorbed through the leaves?
the label rate for both simple lawn solutions and next products all require you to water in right away as its a hot mix
@@PrincessCutLawnCare Thanks, I sent an email to YardMastery to get clarification. I have high pH so the soil absorption is poor which is why I prefer foliar absorption.
That is a really weird way to label, saying Net Weight but following that with the volume, even IF it coincidentally does weight 128 ounces

Hi, lately ive been applying 18oz per 1k sqft of the next green punch 18-0-1 and its AWESOME
Good video.......Go Yankees
Thanks! Go cubs lol
Almost first.
If you not first, your last;)

Crazy right?
