2.5 weeks! Omg!!! I’m just starting to feel like myself again at 6 weeks post op abd hysterectomy. I need your strength. Lol! My previous 3 c-sections didn’t take me down like this surgery.
Don’t you worry one bit. If this is your fourth time being cut open it’s definitely going to take longer. Don’t compare yourself to other people your body is going to progress in its own way. I hope you have a full and healthy recovery.
Thank you so much, Doc! I really needed to hear this today! I am having a total abdominal hysterectomy in one week and the information you have provided here in your series has been extremely helpful! Be Well! Thank you! :)
Thank you for sharing your story. I’m 5 days post op Hysto surgery. My only issue is the dizziness/swaying that I’m still experiencing. Once that goes away and the brain fog goes away I will feel back to myself.
I just had my surgery it’s only been 2wks. I’m just listening to my body right now. The incision itself doesn’t hurt but the area between the belly navel and Csection cut is really tender there. I’m glad I came across ur vid and u saying listen to ur body🥰that’s very helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing, like you i started gentle yoga exercises, feeling great, never had pain relief, and all the video's i watch and people i speak tell me i should sit. So this is a breath of fresh air to hear. Good luck with the rest of your recovery xx
Don’t worry 6-8 weeks is really a typical time frame. So be sure to follow your providers recommendations. Each person is different. And each surfer is different. I worked with my doctor too. Good luck.
Same. This is mindblowing. I am pretty pretty strong. I am 39 and have been actively in the gym working out 5 days a week for 19 years. I am going to be 6 weeks post hysterectomy in 2 days and my doctor kept reiterating to wait till the 6 week marl to do anything and my healing is going well.
I'm 7 weeks post myomectomy and I have a vertical incision. I think I'm healing very slow. The site is still tender to touch at times especially below the navel which is the start of my cut. I still don't lay on my belly. I am afraid that I might have diastasis recti since my mom had it after her open laparotomy 2 yrs ago. I'm just 34 and nulligravida and still single. this surgery has really cause me to loose my self esteem. the scar itself makes me feel ugly. I want to exercise but I'm really afraid that I will have diastasis recti. I don't know what to do bec here in my country they don't really give a fuss about these kind of issue.
Of course always consult your medical providers for your individual health information. But some thoughts might be have you considered discussing with someone treatment for your scars or education on how to treat a diastasis recti with exercise? Is that available where you are? Seven weeks is still pretty early and the scar will probably be tender for a while that’s pretty normal. I am so glad you were able to maintain your uterus.
I’m 2weeks after full open hysterectomy. I can’t even lay in my stomach. Should I be able to. Worry I’m not doing as much as I should after seeing this. I can just walk slowly. I’m normally walk at least 8miles daily
Don’t worry everybody responds differently. Some people need quite a bit longer before they feel ready to move around more. As long as your doctor is comfortable with how you’re progressing be on your own journey.
hi doc tiffany im rhose from philippines im in 2 weeks now for abdominal hysterectomy i want to ask is it normal to experience of abdominal cramps after surgery? what you should advice for best food recovery or is there food to avoid.. thank tou
Abdominal cramping is not uncommon after hysterectomy. But of course always consult with your doctor If you feel like something is not going well. As far as food what I would recommend is things that are not going to cause you constipation so you don’t have to bear down when you have a bowel movement. And foods that are nourishing and help you to build healthy new tissue.
@dr.tiffanylamonde Thanks so much for all your responses. Do you know in pounds? I am cleared to do everything without restrictions. I had a minimal invasive total hysterectomy, and it all happened suddenly, and I was not ready for this phase of life. Why don't doctors remove just the fibroids instead of removing organs, which puts us at risk 😭 can we do all posture 8n yoga or is there anything we need to avoid?
@@GK-yz6bc that is so hard to answer when you are not my patient and I haven’t examined you. Simply too many variables. Your strength before, age, other medical issues, complications. I recommend perhaps you speak with a pelvic health specialist physical therapist or start with your surgeon to answer specific individual questions.

How much of heavy are you able to lift currently
I lift regularly. Mountain bike, backpack, yoga, and much more. I don’t have any restrictions.
