- In this video we’re having a look at the 15-inch version of the HP 450 G8. Comes in i3, i5 and i7 intel processor variations. This laptop has good specs for the price, but is it better than Ryzen 455 version?

To get a replacement charger for this model was quite a chore. I forgot HP parts aren't easily available as other companies.
depending on the version you choose I ended up with an i7 16gb ram 1000 nits 75% ntsc color display, not many things you can not do with this laptop

@@aamir162 bought it from ebay refurbished and was lucky it came with that screen, usually these business grade laptops have dim displays with low color accuracy as businesses do not care much about it when most of the work is based on handling ms docs

yes u can use it easily for coding, but for games it depends how "big" games u will be playing, for fortnite, gta v its okay. 2. try to fully shutdown and disable sleep mode it will help. 3. it supports up to 256GB microsd card memory 4. use cooling pad if you use it on the table, at least once per month clean the vents and you can also change the fan speed.

Just wondering where does the exhaust go out? Almost perfect laptop but i wouldnt buy it for the vents alone being at the back. That will definitely degrade the quality of the screen in the long run

@@hazimyassir976 I have no problems. The Browser is sometimes freezing (then I need to do open the taskmanager, close the taskmanager (!) and it works again). But am not sure if this has to do with the laptop.

Nice stylish Notebook. I nevertheless decided for a Thinkpad E15 Gen3 mainly due to 2nd SSD slot. Also keyboard is better on thinkpad imo, and overall durability much better for thinkpad acc. to sales person.
On the downside I accept less connectability (eg no sd card reader) with the E15 and more temperature at high load and lack of clickable mouse pad - and also the screen is probably a bit better on HP.
Nevertheless, for me personaly, the lack of 2nd ssd slot was the show stopper. (the G7 still had 2 slots). Plus keyboard quali and long term durability is more important for me.
Long term durability isn't that good in probook g8?
Besides, the display of the Lenovo thinkpad e15 is NT not ips, no?
@@hazimyassir976 In current E15 datasheet there are 1 NT and 3 IPS panels listed. I think most are equipped with IPS.

@@hazimyassir976 Maybe it depends on the region. I am in Germany and all Thinkpads E15 Gen 3 that I saw for sale here have an IPS display, for example by an online shop here that has the name "notebook".

go to bios and change fan speed, default factory temperature fan threshold is set to high, try to to lower it so fan will kick in sooner.

I have had Lenovo Yoga, Legion and Dell Inspiron, HPs Display by far is the worst! 1300-700 on a 15 inch laptop? I can clearly see the pixels! How could you say display is good?!

they will perform similar, I like the metal chassis of hp, but in terms of upgradability msi has one free slot for second m2 drive, while g8 has only microsd slot for second drive.
Probook 450 G8 worst laptop than ever. no Legacy boot mode and PHE boot issues. being made business laptop its body case is not strong enough. the power button is in keyboard because of this the laptop will not shutdown even after shutdown and USB port is always powered up even the its shut down. hence battery will not stay long.
paid more for business use but its quality of body case worst than home edition.
being business laptop, its heats up more than home edition laptop.
the ventilation for heat given on top face hence more chance for any liquid spills on laptop.
very much upset for buying this laptop.

g8 450 has aluminum screen lid cover, sides and keyboard chassis, the inner bezels are plastic.

Stop the Windows Biometric Service in the Control Panel > All Control Panel Items> Administrative Tools > Services. Then restart it and set fingerprint again.

well in terms of gaming and graphics card power here asus wins easly, but in terms of processor speed, i5 11 is still better for editing, especially if you work with adobe apps. only ryzen 5000 series can beat intel here and they are still more expensive.
how to know the hp laptop is 250 nits or 400 nits ,?
usually its in the specs, sometimes even on the box, it should be easy to find excellent specs, but if you cant find that info anywhere its definably below average, so around 220nits

these are very different types, i like the gaming graphics card of the asus, but if u are mostly in design even this 450 g8 will work fine, of course there is also more powerful g8 with the fastest geforce mx graphics if you want to be more future proof.
am watching this video because my company just gave me one.. lol

How is the display quality of the 11th gen i7 variant with 250 nits brightness and 45% NTSC? How are the colors and thet accuracy? Does the display screen looked washed away sometimes or more? Please guide.
I think the problem that laptop never shutdowns is a major flaw, plus usb port is powered on while laptop is "off", all this happening even in battery mode. Unbelievable. Can someone confirm this too?
check usb power options in bios, usually there user can change usb power, also make sure that laptop is not in sleep mode.

They have similar chassis, though dell has slightly brighter screen, hp has better processor and will perform a lot faster.

yes, there are different g8 versions, some even doesn't have second slot and only blank PCB . So it looks like this second "m2" slot is actually meant for WWAN card and not for the drive upgrade. i will test it asap

similiar performance in terms of processor, but it looks like dell has better hinge for cooling, but hp has still more inputs.

I work with G5 and G6 mostly. It is my job to provide these at a huge company. The G7 are coming now and it ist horrible with the new USB C dock. I hate it. It is taking up more space and is more expensive than the ultraslim and the connector can break easily.
But I can also see some hope. The D series docking monitors. E243D. The driver problems though... It will be painful.

I bought a 455 G8 with Ryzen 7 and upgraded screen with 400 nits. Why does this feel flimsy? Why is the metal on the left side speaker looks warped? It looks the same warp as this video's left side of speaker.

I got a msi modern 14 b11mo with i3 11^ gen., i'm finding a not good coverage of colors, according to laptopmedia only 49% sRGB.
Do you think the hp has a better screen? let's keep in mind tha modern 14 has a 1200:1 contrast ratio and a maximum brightness of 365 nits, always according the review ..
I'm on dubt if render mine and get a hp 450 g8... confused as always..

well this screen is still in same class though dimmer, i think its not very noticeable, unless you go with higher than 70%sRGB.

The purpose and price point of the default screen of this laptop is not for color editing. Look for other screen versions or HP Elitebook for example. This is a reliable office laptop. A serious color editor needs a professional screen anyway in most cases.

its very quiet and it has a lot of room for fan speed calibration, i would say that out of the box fan speed is set to low, its nice for work but if you are interested in longer life span of processor i would set it 10% higher...

My thoughts exactly. The way they change the exhaust vents in G8 makes it less suitable for usage as a desktop with an external monitor and closed laptop lid. I think they did it for looks, to hide the vents. But at what cost?

there are many versions of g8 with or without windows, its possible that windows update is not completed or you have unregistered windows version.

Now when I got my laptop back It says Activate windows and Key has expired. So I wanna Know is it possible that person has taken my original windows and replaced it with any other versiin
@@honeybarbie5 its possible to replace windows version on any laptop, some windows are built in laptop hardware, thats mean its impossible to use it on other pcs or laptops, the best way is to have windows key copy on the paper. if you lost your key, contact shop for help.

It has very good design, ips screen, battery, keyboard, but on the other side, it has average cooling, touchpad, tiny speakers, all in all i think its okay, offcourse there are alternatives, but mostly without sleek bezels or metal chassis.

HP 450 G8 with i5 processor has good support for rendering and editing videos, though if you work with bigger 4k video files its still best to go with i7 version.

yes it has very thin profile, light for carry and has very fast processors, so it is almost universal for all kind use from simple office to the heavy graphic or autocad design.

well if u don't need number pad u will be fine, but i still think 450 is more usable with bigger screen, and both are to big for the pocket anyway

i7 processors with quick sync are more versatile, especially if you work a lot with adobe apps, otherwise i5 will be okay, there is not big heat difference, though i would raise fan speed from default factory settings, because out of the box they are almost noiseless, probably to impress average users. i think its better to have louder - warm cpu than quiet hot cpu....

well ryzen has an edge in terms of gaming, but Intel still works better with some apps like adobe premiere, so it depends what apps are you using. in general intels 11th gen is better optimized for editing and similar tasks without discrete graphics than ryzen 5.

HP из года в год делает клавиатуру всё хуже и хуже. Нет вариантов нажать Menu (Shift+F10 в некоторых IDE не доступно), кнопки яркости и громкости удобнее было бы запинить на Fn+стрелки... но перенести POWER на клавиатуру... это же как клиентов нужно ненавидеть??? Кто бы их нового дезигнера пристрелил?
Ну и в целом выглядит так что ProBook серия делается для левшей, потому что большинство портов справа. У меня в 450 G7 справа type-c, HDMI, Ethernet и быстрые USB - т.е. любое подключенное устройство будет мешать работать с мышкой. Не самые быстрые type-c шнурки если сильно заморочиться можно найти уголком, чтобы не мешало мышке, но тогда нужно выкидывать шнур питания в пользу PD over type-c.
Корпус хоть и заявлен что шибко офигенный... явно где-то либо проминается, либо наводки на клавиатуру, потому что иногда нажимается то, чего никто не просил.
А так да, за свою цену топчик по железу, который можно на коленке любыми подручными средствами разобрать для поставить/заменит что-то...
Напиши лучше какая альтернатива по цене-качеству-возможностям, умник? Потратил много времени но лучше ультрабука с интегрированной графикой до 1К $ чем HP Pro/EliteBook не нашел.

there is "second m2 slot" but its not meant for drive, so the only alternative is microsd slot

i didn't hear fans a while testing web and youtube and office, it has very good fan speed calibration.

core i3 g8 version has more than enough speed for roblox, so you will able to play it on the highest graphic settings.

This works almost exactly as explained; great job Aaron. I've a couple of questions. At around 5:28 I was asked to download and update new iOS in my new phone. That took almost an hour. Is there any way to avoid that? If my iOS in my old phone has an older version, can I not have that older version iOS in my new phone too?
Secondly, once the transfer is completed, it looks like all the apps are being updated to their latest versions, which again takes a lot of time. Is there any way to avoid that?
