Always straight to the point without a few minutes stumbling around the topic. That's why you're the best on RUclips! And the little clips adding comic relief were on point! Awesome video Kev and very informative! Thank you for the tip! Got 1 guy healing up now. For sure going to use this technique when he's ready to go back to my main tank!
@@TheStinkinglincoln Stress is much better than getting killed when adding a single fish. I have a 20 gallon QT tank and have only once ever had an issue with multiple fish in there. Furthermore with everything going on in the world why be negative and try to bring someone down? If you don't like something and it's not for you, just don't comment. Move on and be miserable by yourself. No need to bash others or be a dick. This is a community. Be nice and support or keep your mouth shut and move on. Everyone is here for hobby which is fun and stress relieving. Hope you change your attitude towards others and have a nice night.
My pleasure bro, Glad I could help! Some people believe the way they've been doing things for years is the ONLY way! I try to stay on the side of ALWAYS LEARNING and bringing you guys techniques that I know for a fact work because Ive done them myself successfully! Glad you enjoyed the little comedy clips, I'm adding more effort to keep the videos not only informative but also entertaining 😊
Love the little clips added to the vids. Made me laugh. Making me look like a **** whilst at work. Keep doing you kev!
I agree the clips were definitely a good mix up!
LOL, I apologize to your colleagues 🤣🤣
A big water change when adding just one fish or just when adding new fish helps alot. They don’t even notice most of the time. I learned that from one of your videos
That is the preferred method to adding fish. Always more than 1, and with a water change. But this is for those that want to add JUST 1. Sometimes the water change method isnt enough and the 1 guy can get bullied and end up dead. Like I said, it could work, it might work...but the chance of a dead new fish are much greater, imo
Love your videos bud, thanks for all the solid information.keep them coming !
Thank you bro, will do! 😊
That is awesome advice. Thankyou
Glad I could help 😁💪
Very important advice. Thank you for helping us.
My pleasure, glad you found it helpful
Finally 75 gallon tank is all set with all male cichlids.
That's Was A Great 👍 Video KaveMan.. All Your Videos Are Awesome and Helpful..👍👍
Thank you bro! Glad you like them! 😊
Well done!
Thank you! 😁
Loved that slick walk into the fish store love it my man!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 Only took like 10 takes hahaha
I wish other RUclipsrs were as succinct as you are. Always straight to the point! Question, do you plan on buying more fish/upgrading tank size or starting a new tank all together?
Thank you so much! I try to keep my videos in similar format 😊 I do have future goals of upgrading my 150 to accommodate Flaco, my Arowana, and Oscars when they get bigger. Much more to come in the future 😁
Nice video. Yeah I have 19 African cichlids currently in my 75 gallon tank and they are getting along just fine even though the last batch I got were one inch smaller than the first batch. I was worried that there was going to be aggression they werent the same size but everything turned out great. I have four filters on my tank for good filtration and been adding stability to help build more beneficial bacteria
Sounds like your guys are in great hands! 😊💪
Another great video.
Tell me about the background in that beautiful tank behind you!
Thank you! Its from aquadecorbackgrounds.com Check them out
Ive found also when i add just one, because like you said we all see that one we gotta have, is to leave lights off when getting ready to feed (make sure theres enough food for everyone to be distracted) and then same time you put food in the tank, place your new guy in there also. Its worked 3x for me.
Fish are too busy stuffing their faces to notice the new guy. Ive done your method also and it works.
Good idea
😁😁
The new editing in this video is hilarious. I like it, it’s win Kev
Glad to hear it bro! Trying some new things to keep it new and fresh 😊😊
Kaveman my boi ... i got you back your my boi!
Thank you my bro!!! 😊💪
Loved the edits lol “I’m back!”
😊🤣
An easier way to add one is just to add the one at night when it’s time for lights out. Then the new fish won’t be seen as new when the other fish wake up the next day.
I normally would do a water change, change the decor and leave the lights off, never thought of doing it like this
Thats my suggested method when adding multiple fish, but when adding just 1, it may not be enough.
Keep doing what you're doing bro! Haters gonnnnnnn hate 🤣🤣 all you're tios have helped me so far as a newbie to Africans! 🙏👀
Thank you bro! Glad I could help! 😊
#re ~ play crew, great idea, specially for that one dude in the hospital tank. Good stuff kev, lj
Glad you enjoyed it brother! 😊💪
Whats up KEV !! question what kind of lighting do you have for your tanks looks good 👍👍👍
Thank you bro, I use the Current USA lights. you can find them in my shop under Equipment/lights - koji.to/kaveman_aquatics
What kind of fish is the blueish green in the top left ?
Brilliant
😊💪
Ayyyyyy 1st comment. Another great video Kev. Keep the content coming
Thanks my bro! Congrats on being first lol
Damm nearly first ✌🏻😂 my new 90 gallon tank arrived yesterday, can’t wait to get my Africans in to the tank
Nice! Congrats on the new 90 😊
Great video question do I still need my air stones if I have a wave maker thanks
Usually you wouldnt, IF your wavemaker is positioned correctly to create surface agitation
@@KaveManAquatics thanks for replying yes my mate maker is in the right place thanks to you and your other video on where to put them 👍
You are absolutely right for the tricks you have to make but the fish are so unpredictable! I did that drill you are discussed a thousand times at the past. But the last time I did it , adding four fish from the carantine tank all hell broke loose. One of the fish was so bitten in only two days I had to rescue it again and put it again in the carantine tank! To save his life! If I was a few hours late that fish wouldn't exist. It was not the smallest of the four actually it was the bigger and almost fully coloured. My big cherry OB started the chace the first day and the other fish of the tank followed the second day almost ignoring the other three fish! The first time that happens to me! I even introduced one fish only in many occasions with out having any issues. This time I was stunned about what happened! Kev please I want your thoughts about that, thank you in advance.
Doesnt surprise me, nothing in this hobby is text book...and what worked once might not work the second time. This is because every tank, species and even the individual fish are all different. You never know what can cause what. This method is something ive used before with high success. Ive lost fish in the past by just adding 1 and sometimes I didnt. But when you do get that 1 fish you really want to make sure you dont lose, this method is your best bet.
Damn! RIP Flava Flave ❤
Nice LFS selection... Our area has had 3 in the last 15 years, they never last unfortunately
It is! When selection is bad though, I go to my breeders that ship great fish too 😊
I have added 1 fish at one time before and I do agree it's a big risk but I have one tip that seems to work for me. The fish you get has to be a bit bigger than ur other ones. They still pick on him but not as much. I use this method for a few of my fish and they are all great. Now if you have a tank with full size or close to full size, then I'd use this method.
Thx KAVEMAN for the tips! 😃👍
Yes that’s a great point! Adding a bigger guy is always safer! Thank you bro!
Kev, I have a problem. And that is I don't have any problem. I mean, I added some fish to my new tank WITHOUT CYCLING IT, I had to completely clean my tank due to a high ammonia level (and sadly 6 fishes died in just 2 days and I had to quarantine the rest) and had to restart.
Although I don't know the water chemistry of my tank, due to lack of test kits, there is no sign of high nitrate level and the water isn't cloudy. I have some live plants in my tank for the zebra juveniles to hide and an underground filter. So what is going on in my tank?
Theres no way you can see signs of high nitrate levels without a test kit. Whats going on in your tank is it still isnt cycled. Watch this - ruclips.net/video/9Cuqylaak3E/видео.html
0:23 looks actually like himself 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I have a 50 gallon tank. Can I keep them ?? And how many ?? I love peacocks
55 is the minimum. Check out my playlist to learn more about them - ruclips.net/p/PLP5OXTIIDO8MG9hyJ8PjbC33zEbcyy8__
What if the new fish infects all of yor established fish from the main tank in the quarantine tank???
Your quarantine tank Meds will take care of everyone in there.
Kev.. Kev.. KEV. I got two Dragonbloods. They were bought together from the same tank at the store. They were completely fine for … 6 months. Then they went on kill mode and started fighting. Not only that but the rest of the fish Gangs up on the one dragonblood too. I have the one separated that was being attacked. Stuck now with what to do
Happens bro...hierarchy shifts and they attack the weak fish. He should stay separated until fully recovered, healthy and confident, then he can be added back in with more fish. Either more new fish, or use this method
Another awesome video as always ..I just set up my 55 gallon African Cich tank last Saturday ..exactly 1 week…I have 10 Cichlids all around 1” …do you think I’m safe adding a couple more pairs without having to quarantine?….or is the Hierarchy already established that quickly?…also there is no way these little babies are eating another fish …yet
The issue wouldn't be about them attacking each other...yet. the concern is adding disease to your tank from new fish. But since your tank is fairly new, yes you can add them right in and just treat the entire tank with something like General cure to eliminate the most common diseases from all the fish together.
@@KaveManAquatics thanks man …I added 2 orange and black ones yesterday …they are slightly smaller but they’re all small ..got the wave maker yesterday from Amazon…tank is looking nice 👍🏻…oh and I am setting my 29 gallon back up to use as an emergency quarantine or for new fish like you said
Sounds like your guys are in good hands!
Hey Kev, I've got a question mate. Can I keep a pair of Convict Cichlids and a electric blue Jack Dempsey in the same tank as 6 Oscars ?? Would they agree with each other or they won't be able to get along with each other
Technically they come from different water parameters and "technically" shouldnt be kept together. But in this hobby what works for one may not work for another. It really depends on the individual fish. Watch this for some clarification - ruclips.net/video/7FQoNp5EO0I/видео.html
@@KaveManAquatics Thanks a lot Kev. That video really helped a lot brother
Do you still do the water change
Yes, I still add them all in during the water change.
@@KaveManAquatics thanks so much kave much appreciated. Also I am cycling my tank the fish in prime and stobilty way do just one question do you feed ur fish every day while’s on the cycling my fish are 2’ and 3’ and if feed is it 3 times a day or once
How many fish to add in a tank . Many suggest 1 inch per gallon rule . But your tank doesn't seems to follow that rule 😀
That rule is very general. With African Cichlids the tank is overstocked by design. You can always keep more than 1" per gallon but your filtration has to coincide with the increase in fish.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
😊😊
And this is why they call new inmates in prison fresh fish 😅
🤣🤣🤣
Rip flav wow I got one cause of him named him flav also after I met flavor flav
Thats cool, thank you! He passed a while back, he was a fighter though for sure!
No bro this aint working for me
Sorry bro…it’s not a 100% method.
I must be lucky then because I put one cichlid and it gets along fine and nothing bothers it
Like I said, it can work, it might work...so yes you've got a good tank with good guys 😊
@@KaveManAquatics my tank has big haps like livingstonii with small mbuna and peacocks and large mbuna with tanganyika
wow, what a mix! How long has the tank been up and running?
@@KaveManAquatics Yhh some of them are as small as half an inch all the way upto 9 inch haps with no hiding spots just a couple pieces of rocks and have not had a single problem for a year
Nice, no hiding spots helps. It reduces territories for them to fight over. Very good tactic! Just becareful with those 1/2 inchers....they can be lunch easy with 9" Haps!
🐟
😊
You ever buy fish at petsmart?
Sometimes, but I do my best to try not to lol
Flavor flave gone 😢
Yea, a while back...RIP
