No matter how experienced we are we all still make unforeseen mistakes. Things can happen. You share everything good and bad with us so kudos to you.
Im sorry that happened to you. I lost an entire 180 gallon when i left town for a week and the power tripped. Ive since set up a battery backup internet cameras and phone aps.
Still things can happen.
Keeping fish is amazing but life can happen.

Thanks for the update. I’m going to work on my 40 gallon tank today. 2 Pleco and 7 goldfish feeders. I couldn’t decide what I wanted for the tank. Sir, you are human and humans make mistakes. My daughter was involved in a wreck 2 weeks after getting her driver's license. She was fortunate to walk away with just a couple bruises. Can't say the same for the car. She made a mistake in a pressure situation. I will tell you like I told her, learn from your mistakes and don't repeat them. If we don't make mistakes, how will we ever learn to be better? I am sorry that you lost your rays. Don't beat yourself up for being human. You will learn and grow from it. The beauty is your followers benefit from your experiences good or bad and you taking your valuable time to teach others about the hobby I think overcomes all the haters. I know you will get back up from this. You never let a setback keep you down. Hang in there Kev, sometimes good things come out of bad situations. Take care bro.

Damn Kev my condolences I know the feeling of losing fish I truly do, stay strong man we live and we learn, I lost around 33 african cichlids due to something wrong with sand and water in my tank but through you and my love for this hobby I have continued through all the hardships and trials and have 29 cichlids thriving now 🙏🏻

I have taken your advice for the backup air pumps and in need to purchase another for my fifth tank I just added. Sorry for the sting ray lost. You have shown us how to care for them well. Really sorry for your loss, your experience proves a point for having critical systems on parallel power lines and power strips. Learning from your experience I'm now thinking of switching my twin inline heaters and air stones onto separate power lines and strips. Thank you for the heartfelt advice.
